A good variety of tasty poke, but not quite as fresh as a couple other options we found. A good amount of outdoor seating though.

I want to love this place. The setting is perfect; fresh fish, local joint. Went this week after craving some fishNsalad and the fresh ONO sold out the customer right before me in line.(although there was a big slab of ono in the fish market case). The person at the counter assured me the frozen ono had just a «subtle difference». Well… the generous portion of fish tasted like frozen fish, the salad and coleslaw was great as well as the seafood chowder my partner had. Butt.(sic)… went there twice and had diarrhea both times ordering different items months apart. Too bad, so sad.

You know this is a good spot when you walk in and the locals(who work for the county) ask what the haole fresh off the plane is doing there… I come for the poke and ocean salad. Its da best. Better than that overprice grocery store. This is once of my first stops every time we get here. My wife digs the hot food, my son loves the fish and chips. Give this spot a try. They have fresh caught fish on hand, never the same 2 days in a row. You know its fresh!

No complaints here! The freshness of poke here is unreal! You can just see how good the cut is and how it’s cleaned. The tuna was so tender it melted in your mouth and it was a beautiful ruby red color. Service was efficient and they offer more than just poke here so you can get your grub on: fish n chips, shellfish, seafood pastas, soups, etc… It’s a small place though but it doesn’t take long to eat your poke, you’ll inhale it before you even find a place a sit down. Poke goes for about $ 13−15/lbs and it’s worth every penny!

A real treat in the Kihei area! The fish here is as fresh as it gets! Locally sourced seafood with fresh fish coming in everyday. Came here for lunch based on a recommendation through a friend. We of course got the poke bowl(my #1 love), and an ahi tuna wrap with coleslaw. The poke bowl runs for $ 11.99 and it comes with 4 types of poke flavors(shoyu, wasabi, furikake, spicy tuna) and seaweed salad. Really fresh with just the right amount of seasoning. I have had poke bowls where the overkill of seasoning made it super salty. But this place does it right! The ahi tuna wrap was good, however there was no mention of wasabi being a key ingredient for seasoning. My SO is not a big fan of wasabi and the super strong taste gave us both a slight headache. It would be nice if we were forewarned… otherwise the wrap was good but required more fish. Priced higher than the poke bowl(around $ 13 – 14), there should be equal fish if not more than the poke bowl in my opinion. Overall the place was good and I would come back here again just for the bowls.

I’ve always wanted to try Eskimo Candy, but my car always ends up at other places when we’re in Kihei and headed to the beach. But today, on a whim and with a bit of luck,(a co-worker was in the Kihei area and was headed back to the office) we ordered takeout. FOOD: Fish & Chips — I opted for ono fish, the other option is mahi. $ 16 bought me 4 thick cut filets in a tasty, crispy batter over really good fries, delicious cole slaw, and a damn good tartar sauce that was creamy with a hint of tang. Even though our food had to make the 30-minute journey back to the office, the batter of the fish and exterior of the fries were still crispy, even though they were at room temperature. Huge portion and well worth the price! A friend ordered the shrimp and chips, which looked divine, so I’m definitely going to try that one next! Stay tuned…

Out of all the fish tacos I had on the island, this one ties with Coconuts for first place. The night we went in they had a special going on, so my tacos came with a sort of passion fruit drizzle which, seriously, was the bomb. It provided a great sweetness to the taco. They keep theirs pretty simple, toasting the tortillas lightly, adding the properly seasoned, and slightly spicy, fish, then slaw for a nice crunch. Slaw is also provided as a side and is pretty good on its own as well. Your other side can either be fries or rice, which, in my opinion, is just your run-of-the-mill side, nothing special. The tacos are where it’s at, so focus on them! My husband order the Poke Bowl and, when compared to a top-rated food truck that serves the same dish, he found Eskimo Candy’s to be way better. They may serve less, but the quality was superior as the fish tasted much more fresh. He also mentioned that he liked the sauces better. If you’re a fan of fish tacos or poke(if you’re in Maui, you better be!) do not skip out on this spot. They are only open Monday through Friday until 7 pm, so keep that in mind! They close much earlier than most dinner spots, so go for lunch or an early dinner.

Best poke I’ve ever had. Stupid fresh. Poke bowl gives you 4 different types: shoyu, furikake, wasabi, spicy tuna with a side of seaweed salad over rice. Line is long and they’ve run out around dinner time so go early.
