We came in about 230 today I had the puffy taco and my husband had the little bit of everything. But the time we got Centerpoint he was begging me to pull over and he threw up everywhere I made it back to Fredericksburg before I got sicker than a dog. Don’t ever eat here unless you enjoy food poisoning. Two days later and I’m still sick from the poison that I was served at this god awful restaurant.

The service was professional and welcoming, the prices inexpensive, and the food delicious! The salsa was fresh, with lots of cilantro. My tamales were delicious, with good flavor and texture. I would have preferred them a little spicier, but topping with a spoonful of the salsa was perfect. My son ate all the kid’s quesadilla and liked it. My daughter loved the fish tacos and the lemonade. The place is not fancy and is a little outdated in appearance, but it was a great meal at a very reasonable price.

First off, what restaurants charge for extra chips & an empty plate for sharing?!($ 2 for extra chips, $ 5.99 for sharing plate). The chips were baked, and the salsa was more liquidy than other tex-mex restaurants, but it was still pretty good. My boyfriend and I ordered small guacamole bowl and tacos al pastor. Guacamole bowl: 3/5, it was pretty average. Guac with the regular pico, nothing really stood out. Tacos al pastor: 4/5, these are 4 pork tacos on corn tortillas. It comes with cilantro, grilled and raw white onions, and guac. The pork is seasoned very well. Ask for limes to put on the tacos! This plate was $ 7.99, not too pricy for the amount of food you receive. We were stopping by while driving through Kerrville. Overall it was a pleasant meal — would recommend if you’re craving tacos in this area!

Stopped by for lunch yesterday. Glad I got there early, because the place got full before I left(a true sign of a good place to eat). I had the lunch special for Tuesday, the beef enchilada plate. First came their home made chips & salsa. Both are home made. The salsa was the freshest tasting salsa I remember eating. Couldn’t be better. The chips were also fresh and good. The enchiladas were a very generous serving of three good enchiladas with a generous amount of beef in each. Also included were Spanish rice and retried pinto beans that also appear to be home made and good. I also added a small bowl of guacamole that was anything but small. It was also very fresh tasting with lots of avacaco. There was plenty for two. I’ll definitely return and take my wife next time. Took the wife back Friday evening. We both had the«Poco de Todo» plate, 2 cheese enchiladas, puffy taco, chalupa, rice, & beans. We both recommend it!

Unilocaled this place and saw all the stars. Place was off the beaten path, and the prices were very reasonable — family owned. I do have to say, as far as selection and taste of food, I definitely would not rate it a 5 star, although it was pretty good. I supposed we’re just so spoiled with authentic Mexican from not only South Cali, but from mainland Mexico as well. Listen, it’s not bad though. I will say, the tamales are definitely home made, moist, and very delicious. Better than most. Hospitality was definitely family! what would have made it a 5 star was a bit more authenticity(just my opinion). Perhaps some tacos de sesos, o lengua, o tripas, o tacos pescados fresca — and maybe more selection on salsa — como salsa verde picante, and the like. Bottom line: good deal for an afternoon lunch.

My husband had the pork in green chile sauce(#10). I had the #26=a little bit of everything. Plus we ordered guac on the side. We are working 50 miles away and drove in based on previous reviews. It was worth the drive for the food, the service and the atmosphere!!! The food is priced right and the portions are huge. We will be back before our contract takes us out of the area.

Great guacamole, good puffy tacos and salsa BUT the owner has overcharged us several times so that I have to tally my bill before going to the cash register to keep him honest.

Stopped for lunch during a drive through Kerrville. Food is authentic and fresh. I can count on one hand the restaurants that serve GOOD Mexican rice. This place nailed it. Crispy tacos were homemade, like my suegra would make. Everything we ordered was fresh and good: mini tacos, crispy tacos, salsa, and just a plain bean and cheese taco. It’s a small place but food is great.

I’m new to Texas, I came from Southern California where there is amazing Mexican food at every other restaurant… I have been looking for good Mexican food for a couple months, I have found it here… Fresh salsa(in the top 5 I have ever had personally), guacamole is superb!!! I think I might ask if they can make me a bedroom in the back, I could eat here every day!!!

The salsa, chips and rice were good but you only get a small bowl of chips unless you want to pay extra. The service was friendly. The refried beans were watery and tasteless. The beef fajita meat was chewy and had no flavor. No free refills on drinks either. It was NOT cheap –I’m not sure how it got one dollar sign.

Decided to try this place while visiting family in Comfort and they recommended this«hole in the wall». First — Best tasting salsa I have EVER had! Actually spicy for a change and homemade. Guacamole was very good especially for the price! Homemade tamales are a must try! The chicken fajitas, enchiladas, and crispy beef taco were also delicious. Customer service was above and beyond! Definitely give this place a try if your ever in the area.

If you typically look at how many cars are in the parking lot to determine if its a good restaurant or not, you will have to throw that indicator out the window. Because of favorable Unilocal reviews, we decided to give this little spot a try. Boy where we impressed! The best fresh made guacamole ever! And handmade tortillas for the«puffy» tacos — where can you go to find some thing like that?! Sadly, we were the only ones there, but it was later in the evening, and the host was very gracious. All this place needs is to be discovered and it’ll have lines of people waiting for a table. We will be sure to stop in whenever we pass through Kerrville.

Very good food. Came through Fredericksburg for a weekend getaway. Found this place through Unilocal. When we first pulled up I was leery. This place doesn’t look like much. But I am so glad we decided to come on in. Wow. Delicious! Don’t miss the fresh guacamole. I got the poco de todo. Rice is yummy. Salsa is very fresh and yummy. Lots of cilantro, which I love. Will be back to purchase tamales by the dz. Also tried the margaritas. The were made fresh in front of us and were very good. This place is worth the stop and will become part of our regular stops when in Fredericksburg. Even my kids cleaned their plates!

Awesome chips and guacamole. The puffy fish tacos are super good, but the best might be the Mexican rice. Never tasted any like it. Very flavorful with the beans.

Really good food! WONDERFUL, freshly homemade salsa and guacamole. Everything was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Loved the puffy tacos. Staff was friendly and efficient. Dining area was small and dated, but clean. Would definitely recommend!

I eat here all the time. It is by far the best most authentic Mexican food restaurant around. I love the camarones! Super friendly staff too.

I tried the Camarones de Sol, at the owners suggestion. I was not disappointed. Grilled bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms make up the bed for a very generous amount of shrimp with rice and beans. I would have wanted a bit more rice and beans, but thats because I love rice and beans, so no complaint here. I asked for and got fresh home made corn tortillas… dont miss these wonderful tortillas with your dinner… no one, repeat, no one is doing that around here!
