This restaurant was recommended by a friend. It was close to my hotel, so it seemed like a great choice. The service was good. My drink was always full and the server was polite. The complimentary bread was delicious and light. The restaurant was clean and bright. We ordered the caprese salad, which tasted fine(hard to screw up a caprese salad); however, the presentation was awful. They placed everything on a bed of wilted iceberg lettuce — I don’t know why. They also included roasted red peppers and olives which were unnecessary. In this case, less is more and they went overboard. I ordered the chicken marsala. It was extremely salty and the sauce was thin and kept separating on the plate to reveal the amount of oil used in the sauce. The noodles were blatantly from a box and the chicken was probably frozen and reheated. I felt like I was on an episode of Kitchen Impossible. TL;DR: The price doesn’t match the quality.

I see other reviews are not so kind, but my 2 recent experiences here were good if not great. I stayed at the Best Western and the brother’s place is big, beautiful, and clean. Ordered a meatball sandwich to go for dinner and it was delicious. I’m from Phily and had my own restaurant so I know Italian food. The complimentary breakfast was fast, hot, and free. The server was charming and spoke highly of the brothers. For Italian by two non– Italians in Texas I say go there. If your expectations are not too high, you will be rewarded. Manga!

Awful. I ordered minestrone soup for starters and they served me with what I swear could only be a heated up bowl of Cambell’s minestrone soup. The vegetables were cubed in a way that can only be done in a processed food factory and the tomato broth had that undeniable ChefBoyArdee taste. There were flakes of parsley already in the soup which had since dulled in color… Nasty. What’s really bizarre is that they had the gall to add MORE *fresh* parsley on top of the canned bs they decided to serve me. I sent it back to the kitchen and couldn’t stomach the thought of having a replacement brought out to me. I should’ve left then, but I was hungry and this is the only Italian place in Kerrville ever since Valentino’s closed down. I ordered the cannelloni. Equally as bad. There were three little rolls of lasagna noodles messily stuffed with cheese and spinach swimming in a nasty tomato meat sauce. Two bites in and we left in disgust. The environment is nice, I will say that. It’s a new restaurant and is decorated really well. But they ought to focus more on their product than their atmosphere. Also, our meal was awkwardly serenaded by an oldies radio station playing rather loudly. I understand that Kerrville is home to old geezers, but at least some Sinatra or Martin would have been more appropriate for the ambiance than the Beach Boys.

We were craving some italian so we found this place not too far from Fredricksburg. We got here and we were seated immediately. The waitress came over quickly and got our drink orders. We looked over the menu but really wanted pizza as our main. We ordered fried raviolis to start with along with salads. Fried Raviolis — Delicious! Cooked right and drenched in a vodka tomatoe sauce. The sauce is so yummy with small chunks of onions and tomatoes. Mmm Salads — I got the Rick salad which had everything and I mean everything in it — peppercini, capers, black olives, artichoke, purple cabbage, iceberg, tomato, carrots, croutons and their housemade vinaigrette. Husband got the ceasar and said it was good. Pizza — we ordered half and half. Margarita and Meat Lovers. The crust is thin and crispy, but no extra flavors. They really load up on the toppings. The margarita had tons of tomatoes I’ve never seen one with that many. The Meat lovers had all the meats and loaded. All good. Our service was spot on the whole duration. She checked on us and kept our drinks filled. I would return.

Your entire floor staff should be fired immediately & hire a new staff. The individual responsible for training the floor staff needs to be replaced as well. I brought my family in for dinner tonight and the experience was rather crappy. I didn’t even make it to a table before I decided I probably won’t come back ever. I walked in the door & there was no greeting from anyone. I stood at the hostess station for at least 10 minutes & no one could even be bothered to acknowledge my existence… Not the actual hostess herself nor the 3 different servers who walked up to the hostess station and futzed around and grabbed things. No hello, no how are you, no have you been helped yet… Nothing. Seriously, who doesn’t even acknowledge a paying customer. Guaranteed my bill would have been at least a $ 60-$ 70 ticket. Plus tips on top.(It is a family of four eating after all) Eating out in this economy is a luxury & excellent customer service is what keeps people walking in the door. Shame on you! Needless to say I got tired of being ignored and we walked out. Great first & last impression.

On my road trip through Texas, both Unilocal and Google recommended this place. Nice looking restaurant, but I came at a weird early lunch time when no one else made it in yet. Got the Bella Sera chicken entrée, which was underwhelming. I’m thinking they rushed the meal as the rest of the lunch crowd came in a bit after me and they wanted to get my meal to me quickly before the orders piled up. The chicken seemed tough and a little chewy with the angel hair noodles a little harder than I’m used to. Decent flavor with the sauce, olives, capers and tomatoes, but the textures were off. Now there are some intervening factors that influenced my rating, but if I return to this area, I think I’ll try elsewhere before coming back here.

My family and I stayed at the Best Western right next door and they give vouchers for free breakfast. The first morning we walked over and had a decent breakfast. Service was very slow, but the waitress was attentive and apologized for our food taking so long. The food was OK at best. Eggs over cooked, bacon over cooked and hash browns over cooked. The pancakes were to my kids liking. The next morning we went over and this time service was even slower. We sat down and placed our orders for drinks. While we waited people sat at the tables adjacent to ours. We saw them order their drinks, then saw them get their drinks, then order their food and their food came out. One table had 6 people and they all got food and drinks and ate and left before we even got drinks. So drinks finally came out. My kids both ordered chocolate milk. All the waitress did was squirt chocolate syrup into the glass of milk. She couldn’t even stir it. That’s OK, we can stir. So we ordered food, since there are only three choices we got exactly the same thing we had the day before. We wait, and wait, and wait and finally we get our food and some of it is wrong. It gets corrected and then we don’t see the waitress again, except as she waits on other tables. Never checked on us or asked if every thing tasted OK. She did come by to drop off the bill, for the drinks, which was oddly $ 6 more than the day before. The only difference is that my wife got a cup of coffee on the second day. I guarantee that a cup of mediocre coffee is not $ 6. Will definitely not be going back. I believe the reason we received the horrible service is because we had the voucher from the hotel. If we were paying customers, as some of the others were, I believe we would have gotten better service. Since that is the case, I don’t know why they offer the vouchers. I would advise staying at the hotel, as it was very nice and clean, but avoid Bella Sera.

In an area devoid of original restaurants, especially Italian, this place is definitely a blessing. Bella Sera provides a good variety of Italian dishes at modest pricing. If you want to eat cheap, their spaghetti bowls are under $ 10, but they have several nice seafood dishes available for under $ 20. In addition, they’ve got some great pizza at the same price as Papa John’s or Pizza Hut. Wait service is polite and speedy, and the restaurant has a nice wine list. They offer vegetarian and gluten free options, and they have some tasty garlic breadsticks for snacking on while you wait for your food. Overall, a great place! I take friends there as often as I can, and would recommend it to anyone.

We were very pleasantly surprised. We never expect much from restaurants attached or adjacent to hotels, but Bella Sera was a wonderful exception. We had wine, small salads, FANTASTIC garlic knots(without the Gaelic for my wife), chicken parm, and chicken Marsala. All the food was quickly and perfectly prepared. The prices were reasonable and service was good. The only less than excellent part was the slice of cheesecake I took home was on the slim side and not up to the standard of the rest of the food. We will return. We came back for another dinner and the food continues to surprise us. My wife had chicken Marsala and I had sausage and pepper parm. This definitely is the best Italian food in Kerrville and perhaps in the Hill Country. The garlic rolls, even without butter and garlic(as my wife asks for them) are the best I ever ate. We will return again. This will become one our regulars.

Pizza was terrible, service bad, salad bad… I can’t comment on the rest of the menu. I’m sure there’s better places closer to town.

Real Gem. The 2 brother cooking in the back from Italy. Love the wine selection. Service is always good for me but remember it’s always iffy in Kerrville so don’t knock the food bc of a bad waiter anywhere around here.

Took the girlfriends parents here when the came down from Michigan and they loved it. The portions were quite sizable, if theres one thing i not say was incredible i think it’d be wait staff, they seemed a little scarce but maybe it was just the time of day? All in all 4 – 5 :)

Food was great! Fresh, tasty, & authentic! Service wasn’t great but I think we just didn’t get the most experienced server. Other tables were very taken care or. Will def return despite that! Prices were reasonable too!

I am staying in the best western next door and they gave us certificates for breakfast from here. I am in town for three night so I go three certificates. I ate here once and never again. I paid and went to another place to eat. The waitress was not friendly. After I got my good I never saw her again accept when she dropped the check on the table. No refills, no checking on me. The food was subpar for eggs bacon and toast. The bacon was too cooked for my taste, very crunchy. The potatoes needed flavor and the eggs were cooked as I asked. They may be good for lunch or dinner but not breakfast

We had lunch here while visiting family from the area. We used Unilocal to make our choice of nearby restaurants. We felt that the reviews of Bella Sera where the most positive but what stood out for us was the pizza here. My princess wanted pizza, and what the princess wants… The pizza did not disappoint! The crust was chewy, thin, and perfectly crispy. Their sauce was tangy and delicious.(My dad felt the sauce was a bit too salty) Our pizza was also topped with a delicious blend of flavorful cheese too. What would have elevated this pizza in my humble opinion would have been better quality meats. We also had calamari, caprese and Caesar salads. My sister killed her Caesar salad and said the dressing was great. I had the very generous caprese. The mozzarella was creamy and tomatoes where nice and ripe. I felt the salad was a bit short on basil and I could have done without the romaine on the plate. Overall this was a good salad and definitely enough for two. The calamari was fried well. A little too well — giving it an even rubberier texture. The accompanying marinara was delicious. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back for the pizza again!

The new Italian place in Kerrville. We have Valentinos which has been in business for many years and always delivers a fair deal with tasty food. Bella Sera wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great. Atmosphere was pretty standard. Country music and Italian food? Not to everyone’s tastes. The food was on the disappointing side. I had the linguine with white clam sauce and the last time I had a meal with that much sand it it was in basic training at Fort Dix. The flavor was ok, but the sauce was thickened up with a lot of corn starch. The same goes for my wife’s Chicken Siciliano. I will probably not return to Bella Sera any time soon.
