Acapulco Mexican Restaurant

Closest restaurant to our motel, lucky we like Mexican food. Chips were paper thin, very light. The salsa was mild but flavorful, ordered the hot salsa which was pureed hot jalapeños. Waiter was very fast and attentive, the entire wait staff was quick to clean tables and prepare for the next patron. On a Tues night the restaurant was more than ½ full. The chicken taco salad was ordinary, slightly salty. The mahi fish tacos were great, did not like the mango salsa however. Price was moderate, food filling, no surprises.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the fabulous Happy Hour prices on some delicious frozen margaritas– what a great surprise! Our party of four had some terrific TexMex (along with one Chicken Fried Steak.) The décor and atmosphere wasn’t the greatest, but we had stellar service– very attentive and friendly. We will be back!

I ordered chicken fajitas, which were average. Food here is quite average, and nothing to be excited about. Small portions, bland taste.

After two years of living in Texas I have experienced delicious «Mexican Food» and delicious «TexMex» unfortunately this restaurant does not fit under either category. The food was not terrible but it was not the best food I’ve ever had. The guacamole was average and so was the salsa. The queso was far from homemade, the food came out extremely fast (Taco Bell fast) which I found alarming. The chips are also in a giant warming unit but they are not fresh or great quality. If you ask for tortillas (again not fresh and below average) you get three and when you ask for more they look at you like you’re insane. I will say the food is decent and the fajitas were edible. The service makes up for the quality of food but be aware that you are walking into a sit down Taco Bell/​Low End Gringos not anything special.

Some coworkers and I picked up lunch here, one girl said her food was good, she got a taco with rice and beans. Another got a kale order of nachos and said it left a lot to be desired. My food tasted great, it just wasn’t what I ordered. I ordered carne asado tacos with guacamole on the side. What I got was carne guisada tacos and no guacamole. And yes I was charged for the side of non existent guacamole… Needless to say I won’t be recommending this restaurant.

We were from out of town riding the 3 sisters loop. We stayed at a near by hotel and the Unilocal reviews were ok so we thought we’d try. First, I told the guy seating us that we would probably be loud (7 of us) and he sat us next to a table of kids. Asked waitress if we could move and she said yes. She sat us at another table which was better if we wanted to be loud.
She took our drink order and brought them back, all along we’re eating the chips and now the bowls are empty. Someone ordered a bowl of queso and we had already asked for chips but nothing. Then the queso arrived and still no chips. We finally made our food order and to say the least my husband and I finally left after not getting our food order. The others brought back our food and it was less than optimal. Won’t be going back.

Absolutely great Tex-​Mex restaurant! Comfortable seating area, attentive service and wonderful value food. My wife, 18-​yr old daughter and I all shared the family beef fajitas for three with enough for lunch left over! Great flour tortillas and fresh guac! Next time I’ll ask for a hotter salsa picante. Charro beans are beyond description — a must-​eat experience! Flavorful, tart margaritas and cold beer topped everything off superbly.

CALL before you go. Got there thirty minutes before closing and they said «ahhh, it has been really slow tonight so we decided to close early.» Understand the slow part but don’t post times on the window outside and close early. Or, put in parenthesis «times subject to change based on nightly business assessments.»
Otherwise the place has great food.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I had lunch here with my family while traveling through Kerrville. I ordered the lunch fajitas combination with rice & beans. The beef fajitas were good, but the chicken fajitas were a bit dry. The charro beans were good, but the rice lacked flavor & ingredients. My family members liked the crispy beef tacos, but disliked the cheese enchiladas. Perhaps some of the other menu items are more popular & flavor is more enticing?! I will probably try this place again & order something else, next time I’m in Kerrville?!

The place looks kind of divey, but I really liked the food. The salsa was so good that I couldn’t stop eating it — neither could my dining partners. Our server was excellent and attentive. This is a place I would recommend. Don’t let the appearance fool you.

Acapulcos has delicious food and the staff is friendly, personable, and takes pride in their work. I love the Southwestern Salad and Tequila line dressing!

My favorite Mexican place here in Kerrville. I wish we had a Chevy’s Fresh Mex though. Oh well, they do fine. Four stars because there could always be improvements.
Love the Fajitas here as well, but the Hot Cocoa could use some improvements as well. Chips before the meal leave something to be desired.

I went by as visited from San Antonio TX and the staffs were so friendly and know sign language since I’m deaf. Also the meals are delicious, so is tortilla chip and salsa. I will come again for sure.

I’m writing my review on my first experience. Doubt I’ll be coming back. The service seems good and efficient, the restaurant appears clean. I ordered the two burrito plate. Burritos are really just tacos. Rice tastes only like cumin. Beans taste canned. Salsa is uninspiring. Tortillas, im sure are not homemade. Guacamole is ok. Ground beef in tacos is quite greasy. Cheap cheese.
Is this horrible? No, I guess not. Is it good? I really can’t say it is. If other menu items are better it may be worthwhile, but I sure don’t like what I’m eating. It’s 7.99 for a lunch plate, and I wish I had gone to Wendy’s or whatabuger. Or pretty much any of the other mexican restaurants in town. This is definitely tex-​mex, by the way, not Mexican.

Really enjoyed this place! The staff and service was great! The food was awesome that I went twice while on business in Kerrville. No complaints at all.

I ate dinner here tonight and the service started out great, the waiter was very nice and efficient. The sales is very bland and very very mild. The chips are good. I ordered the chili relleno which was very good. The rice was a little crunchy on top from being headed up and the refried beans tasted out of a can. This us where the service took a big turn. My tea sat empty for a very long time all the while I watched my waiter fill up everyone around me cups up but mine say in the edge of the table empty. When I finished eating the waiter came to bring me my check then decided to ask if I wanted more tea… It’s just been sitting empty of over half my dinner.
The food was good, the sides were heated up, very mild salsa and bad service.

5 stars for food. Best breakfast in Kerrville.
2 stars for cleanliness and service. Moved three times. Chairs and floors were STICKY. Tables had been poorly wiped off.

We re just passing by and we stopped for dinner. Great staff and really nice. Accidentally ordered something with meat (I’m a vegetarian) and they quickly helped me correct it.

Good interior and good service. The inside is spacious, with high ceilings. The food is unhealthy SYSCO food served as Mexican. Low quality cheese in everything. The salsa from the can is horrible.

My brother, father, and I went in for breakfast tacos as we have done once before.
We showed up at the restaurant at 10:29am, seated ourselves and were confronted by a very unfriendly waitress. We told her we were there for breakfast and she told us that they weren’t serving breakfast any longer. They stop serving breakfast at 10:30 sharp! She was not helpful or accommodating at all and made our experience there one we won’t forget.
We ended up having to spend twice as much money then we intended to because we had to order from their lunch menu. When the food came out, my fathers order was wrong. The waitress avoided us the rest of the time we were there and no one even offered to refill our glasses of water.
Avoid this place.
