Great experience overall and we will definitely be back. We dined in and the food was made promptly! The lady at the desk was courteous and efficient. She answered a few questions and we got just what we wanted. It’s kind of in a divey neighborhood with limited parking. But the inside was clean. Chicken Pad Thai was wonderful. We’ll probably skip beef and broccoli next time to try something else. Pretty steady stream of take out orders. Our biggest complaints would be no drink fountain/water cups and no high chair for our baby. But those aren’t deal breakers so we’ll be back!

Ordered Pad Thai which came in a appreciable portion. Food quality was pretty good and the quantity compensated for that. There’s a 15 $ min for delivery so order accordingly. Delivery experience was great in terms of efficiency and exchange of food for signature(paid via CC over phone).

Everything here is consistently delicious. Food is fresh, meats are tender, spices are expertly rendered. Don’t be fooled by the out-of-the-way industrial park location. Try Red Ginger once and it will be your go-to Chinese food carry-out from now on.

I didn’t have my car and needed delivery so I chose this place of the limited options available. Delivery was very fast but the driver didn’t have change for my order so he ended up getting to keep a nice size tip. The prices were good and portions were large, but the food was bland and tasted off. The egg roll and beef in my soup tastes really strongly like how the meat smells before being cooked. I don’t know how else to describe it, just weird. The steamed rice was nice and soft but the sesame chicken tastes like it had candy coating. I had to add seasoning to my soup for flavor. Not the best not the worst, I may try something else from there if I’m in a bind again.

This is our family’s go to restaurant for Chinese food. They have the best Peking Duck in the area. Family favorites are steamed pork dumplings, combination lo mein and General Tsao’s chicken. We either carry out or get it delivered.

The food was good but I was most impressed by the service. First, they were early. Second, after I looked at the food I realized they forgot the green onions that normally come with Peking Duck. Within moments of me noticing, there was a knock on the door — the manager had brought the onions over as soon as they realized the mistake(without me calling them). Normally missing onions would not be a big deal — I was impressed they drove out to me to fix it.

Fairly classic American Chinese. Good size portions makes for a fair price and decent eating. Nothing great but a good variety of vegetarian dishes makes it a three star.

We get delivery to the Grosvenor from Red Ginger in Kensington. Delivery arrives fast — typically about 10 minutes faster than the time they say. Everything is fresh tasting and packed well for delivery. Red Ginger’s BEST dish is the Salt and Pepper Fish Fillets(aka: «Salted Pepper Fillet Fish»). Another Unilocaler posted an accurate photo of it. Tastes just like its name. LOTS of fried fish fingers with a snap of salt and pepper.(The greens bed underneath is very spicy hot, but I don’t eat that, just the fish.) Fried white fish, yet somehow very«light» tasting with no fishy flavor(good). «Tastes like chicken» but lighter. It hits the spot and has enough for two. It’s their most expensive dish at $ 12. I find fish difficult to cook at home(odors, avoiding fishy flavor) so I really appreciate the Salt and Pepper Fish Fillets. Red Ginger’s «Pad Thai» with Tofu is fine.(Unfortunately we tend to compare noodle dishes to Amina Thai, oh, if only Amina delivered!). Red Ginger breaks the tofu up and cooks it all mixed in with the noodles, instead of leaving it in blocks, which is a nice change. The Red Ginger«Shrimp Wonton» appetizer is sort of like a flat crispy crab rangoon but with little whole shrimps inside. There’s 6 of them for $ 7, so good to share. I’m always surprised how good and crispy it is for a fried item that’s delivered. We tried the«Thai Style Fried Rice», but it wasn’t very fried-ricey, to us. It was light and herbal-fresh tasting. More like«white rice mixed with things». We happen to prefer our fried rice a bit more pan fried-y. The next day we took the leftovers, we fried an egg, and pan fried it more ourselves, which was good. Unlike other Unilocalers, we happen NOT to be fans of the«House Special» Egg Roll — it has ground beef in it. It tastes fatty, like a cheeseburger with onions. But many other Unilocalers seem to rave about it. Maybe it is our expectations for an asian flavor from an asian restaurant that make this item less enjoyable for us.

A bit hard to find, but well worth looking. The food was great: tried the Tokyo chicken on this visit, chicken was not over-cooked, tender, juicy white meat, not too salty. I cannot believe the amount of food for $ 10, great value and a great place for hit for some good food. We certainly be going back

This was the worst experience ever. I ordered my food over 2 hours ago. After 5 calls back and forth… I was told, «The driver couldn’t find you… Sorry.» WTH!!! With smart phones, Google maps, navigation systems in 2015… How is that even possible??? The worst part is that I’m sick in bed which is the very reason I’ve wasted my time with this place. If I could give this negative stars I would. Get out of the delivery food business if you can’t do as you say and freakin’ deliver!

I come here sometimes with my girlfriend since it is right up the street from me. For a carry out, it is pretty decent. The prices are reasonable and the service is quick and friendly. They have a large menu, typical of most Chinese carry-out. I especially recommend the spicy shredded chicken. I’ve had the Pad Thai, which is OK. The curry is pretty good. The food is above-average compared to other carry-outs. I will be going here again and again.

Sketch City We were looking for a good Chinese takeout joint in the area and stumbled upon Red Ginger. At first, it looked great– close by, cheap prices, generous portions. The first time we went there, it was OK, but off. Went there a second time, and we realized something was really wrong. The food is bland and leaves you feeling a little queasy(not the good type of queasy you expect after Chinese fast food). And the place itself is so strange– both times I went in, there was no one in there, the place was sterile and scentless(where did they cook the food??), and my take out bag looked like it was packaged hours ago. All around turned us off.

Been here a couple of times. Food is pretty good and affordable. It’s very quaint and tucked away but don’t let deter you from coming here… they are pretty busy always with takeouts and delivery, a testament that they do good work. I also like that it’s close enough to walk.

Awesome food, great service for eat in, and a stream of folks getting take out. This place is a gem in a sea of rocks… Wish it was closer to home, but I will make the trip to get this kind of quality food! So far I have had the Red Ginger special egg roll(incredible!), the Red Ginger special shrimp wonton(also incredible) and the salt and pepper fish, which is perfect! I will be back to try the rest of the menu, for sure!

Tired of the precious tea room lunch experience in old town Kensington on our third day staying there, we tromped a few blocks over here, getting nervous as we entered an industrial neighborhood and wondered if it’d actually have a restaurant. They didn’t bat an eye at our large party, but served us our lunch specials pretty quick. All the food was pretty good, the outstanding dish being a caramelized cashew chicken that really beat the band.

Outstanding food. Exceptional value. Terrific service. You wouldn’t be faulted for missing this place, considering it’s wedged between a bunch of mechanic shops on a back street off of Connecticut. However, what awaits you inside is delicious stuff. Is it racial profiling for me to assume Red Ginger is better than its competitors because actual Chinese people appear to flock there in droves? I dunno. I’m not a racist or anything, but that’s how it is. People who should know better than me love this place. If anything I just said errs on racial stereotyping, then I apologize. I will rephrase: Humans go here. Humans who appear to know a thing or two about the quality and legitimacy of Chinese food. Humans. Anyway, the portions are excellent. You could easily split an entrée with someone. The low mein is yummy. Their chicken is cooked well. There’s nothing fancy going on here. It’s just a simple Chinese take-out joint that also has some seats. Also, massive shout out to the woman who was working the front when we stopped in. We wanted some bags to carry our food, but she was stuck in the back, so we just gave up on it and went to the car. A few moments later, out came the woman with some plastic bags, saying, «You need bags!» She’s great. Loved this place. Totally going back.
