Wow, fantastic cabs. The people are super fun and friendly and the outdoor seating and views are fantastic. A great find in Lake County.

This winery is worth the visit for the views alone! You wind up Red Hills Road, you are right in the heart of Red Hills AVA. Park in the gravel lot and enter the sweet & simple high ceiling tasting room with one short counter at the end. Bonus points for the spot-on glassware for tasting. I must also recommend the friendly staff. Caroline encouraged us to sit outside and enjoy the view. She came out when we were ready for the next taste. However the wines are not my favorite, they are very tight and chewy, not my thing. That’s just me, my sister(a local) is a wine club member and a big fan. We were curious when we got to the final wine, a late harvest Syrah noir(new to us) and we were pleasantly surprised by its bold not-overly-sweet flavor. We were sure we could put that to good use. Cheese plate? After dinner wine? Something to sip around the firepit? We each got a bottle, and my sister(visiting from WA) couldn’t resist purchasing some of the fabulous glasses. Overall, worth a stop, but DON’T miss Gregory Graham Winery nearby or your day won’t be complete!

This was a joyful tasting experience with Laujor’s Caroline pouring and discussing the different wines on the menu. The sauvignon blanc was very crisp with a slightly sweet finish and the reds were lip smacking. The 2011 cabernet was as lovely on the nose as the palate if not more so. Beautiful setting with a wonderful landscape view and comfortable tasting room and bar. A must stop and their wine club is enticing with seasonal pairing perks throughout the year.

What a beautiful place, and wonderful wine, especially the Sangiovese! This was a last minute decision to try this place out, and we were more than pleasantly surprised. Yes, the setting is gorgeous, and wine tasting room lovely and the wine wonderful, but the best part of our trip was Caroline! She is just a beautiful person, complete with knowledge, amazing wit, great smile, who gave us a warm welcome and continued that warmth through the whole tasting; we felt like we had made a new friend. I give Laujor 5 stars for everything, and would give it 10, just for how lovely it was to hang out with Caroline. If you’re in Lake Country, be sure to stop by Laujor, and tell Caroline we sent you.

As the others have said, Laujor is a clear must-stop on a wine jaunt in Lake County. First and foremost… the wine is delicious(which is the point of all of this, no?). I believe they only do red wine, but when we visited they were also pouring a white from Cougar’s Leap down the road(which does not have a tasting room of its own). Prices range from $ 26 – 30 per bottle with a $ 14 ½ bottle of a «late-harvest» sweet red. All were great and for the quality of the wine, I’d say the prices are very fair. The tasting room is very intimate and there is a separate sitting room with a toasty faux-fireplace for cozying on the cooler days. Décor is fresh and modern with rustic/classic accents. Outside is a pretty sizable patio with a good bit of seating. The view out toward Mt. Konocti is absolutely stunning and can be enjoyed both inside and out. The winemaker Cheryl is supremely knowledgable and pleasant and her husband just as charming. The woman running the tasting room was delightful as well and we could have stayed all day chatting and taking in the view. They do charge a tasting fee of $ 5, but that is fully refundable if you decide to purchase a bottle(and you will).

Nice new tasting room with a breathtaking view of Mt Konocti. We met the winemaker’s husband who was super nice and made the tasting pleasant. We loved the Zinfandel and picked up a few bottles. It was an impressive start to our Lake County adventure.
