Thuy and I were dining nearby and decided to check out the shops here(there are three — two selling food and the third I think has something to do with retirement planning). Cocoa Confections, which can be accessed through Texas Harvest Pie Company(the other place we checked out) or via a door on the north side of the building, is a very nice little shop. In addition to hot and cold drinks(tea, coffee, Italian Soda) there is a wide selection of sweets. We learned some are made in-house and others are brought in. There are also a lot of gift ideas to be had here, notably the Pinot Noir Chocolate Sauce and the«Blooming» tea, both which made my «for future consideration» list. We decided to have an Almond Italian Soda and a couple truffles(Thuy picked passion fruit and I went with a cinnamon apple). The soda was nice as it was not overly sweet and both our truffle selections were tasty and a nice finish to lunch. The only observation would be that it would be nice if there was a place to sit inside(though I don’t know where). There is a small table and chairs outside, but in this heat it’s not really an option. PS. Be sure to notice the 10% off being offered via the Unilocal page… I did not know this until returning home and writing this review.
