Great service good food and a great atmosphere. What else do you need?! Ask for Whitney. She was the best server we’ve had in a long time.

We went with family that had been here before. I was mildly surprised. The food was much more than just your normal plate of rice and gloppy beans. First the beans and rice were delicious. They weren’t used just to fill space like most restaurants do. I had the chili verde — it was spicy, but not painfully so. I’d recommend it. Everybody else had favorable responses to their food as well. It did take a while for our food to come out. It wasn’t too busy, so I was surprised at how long it took.

Not great, not terrible. Not any different than Pebberbelly’s(its predecessor), in my estimation. The interior hasn’t changed at all. I don’t think the menu has changed much either. I didn’t frequent the restaurant when it was Pepperbelly’s, so I can’t be certain… And I probably won’t be frequenting it now that it’s Orlando’s, either. On this visit, I ordered a «special». The Flautas. The Spanish rice that accompanied the meal was not that good. It was really dry, & not too flavorful. The refried beans that came with it too; nothing spectacular. The Flautas, themselves, were tasty. There were hints of sweetness to them, that were unexpected(in a good way)! The only down side was that they were a bit dry, & could have benefited greatly from having a side of guacamole to dip them in. I’m far more of a «guac-girl», as opposed to the sour cream that they actually served with it. I’d also suggest adding the Flautas to the regular menu. Service was average. Although, I dislike their practice of going to the front counter to pay! A la: IHOP. I far prefer having my server take care of my check. But I guess, if Orlando’s wants to be equated to the Mexican-restaurant version of International House Of Pancakes??? Mission accomplished.

Great food and good service. It reminds me of El Matador in Bountiful. I recognize the owner from being my waitress there many years ago. They don’t overwhelm you with too many choices and what they make is great. I especially like the Enchiladas. Reasonably priced as well.

Delicious!!! I absolutely LOVE their nachos! But then I’ve never had anything there that I didn’t like. The owners are so nice, and the staff very nice! It’s a very reasonable price as well. Would highly recommend!

These guys are from El Matador when El Matador was actually good. I think the food here is great. Finally a decent restaurant in Kaysville for a good price. The free chips and salsa is a bonus. Freshly made warm tortilla chips are really good. My favorite is the Chimichanga. And then fried ice cream to finish it off makes for an amazing meal. My only negative would be that the horchata is warmer than I would prefer. Gotta try this out!

We have been to Orlandos a few times. My favorites include the chile rellenos, sweet pork salad, and the chile verde. I enjoy the flavor of the salsa. It has a good mild heat with a slight smokey flavor and a hint of cilantro. And don’t forget about dessert. The strawberry nachos are to die for. Cinnamon sugar chips topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and fresh strawberrys. I’m drooling just thinking about it. If you’re more of a classic person the fried ice cream is also good, but I prefer the unique strawberry nachos. Orlandos is a family friendly place. Best Mexican food around!

Saw the place had a new name so we thought we’d give it a try. The interior was nearly the same as the old restaurant. I ordered the sweet pork tacos that were very good. The downside was they were served in a weird taco try and a bit difficult to get out and actually eat. I managed though, and enjoyed the flavor. The chips and salsa were good also. My husbands meal was disappointing and he had to send it back and get something else. Don’t expect to get alcohol here, as they don’t serve it. The staff seemed very inexperienced and not very attentive. I don’t think anyone working there was over 18 years old.

I am a big fan of Mexican food. And I dislike it when certain dishes are messed with. Mess with a recipe only if you can improve it. I started with the nachos, thinking it was gonna be a monster platter. Came hot but only to melt the cheese. But the food was very bland. I asked for Jalapeños on the side thinking I wasn’t gonna be able to handle it. But no, they looked weak, the kind you get to put on your nachos at the 7 to 11. But the presentation of the food was very colorful and inviting. The atmosphere was neat and orderly. Appealed to my inner neat freak. The young man attending us was very helpful with our service. Was happy with his attentiveness. The we ordered the two tamale plate, also bland with the sauce, but the tamale and the meat inside were delicious. Frijoles and rice though we’re lacking. Frijoles tasted from a can. Rice a sweeter boxed version. It wouldn’t hurt to spice it up. I had a child with me so it was fun for her, and I must admit though she loved her quesadilla. But then again this kid doesn’t have a picky palette. Throw some cheese in her omelet with spinach and she is good. I would call this Mexican food though. I left with a sweet taste in my mouth. I was hoping to find a great place to come back to but I rather go elsewhere.

I really wanted this place to be great so I could give it a rave review, unfortunately, it was a mixed bag. Sorry for the long review but it was a long meal. The décor was very similar to what it was when Pepper Belly’s was here, rustic industrial. We were seated as soon as the host was done taking payment from a customer. We sat there for a good while without being asked about drinks or getting handed some chips and salsa. Finally the waitress comes by and says hello, and nothing else, then she stood there looking at us… did she want to offer us drinks, take our food order it was hard to tell. We opted to order everything at once to avoid any further delays. Drinks took a bit to come out which was disappointing because apparently chips are only delivered along with the drinks, but it all got to us eventually. The chips were fresh and crispy and slightly warm, the salsa was good but had a flavor I wasn’t expecting, maybe chili powder, it was good but different. Our orders arrived, my Chile Verde burrito with rice and refried beans and my wife’s sweet pork street tacos with charro beans and rice. The rice was ok, somehow a bit crunchy and mushy at the same time with some flavor, the refried beans were ok but nothing special, I ended up with the wife’s charro beans and the too were ok. While tasting my sides I kept getting a worrisome flavor, was it the rice, the beans, further investigation proved it was the scorched Verde. We flagged down the waitress and I informed her the Verde was scorched. Burnt she asked? Well it is scorched so I guess you could say burnt. She didn’t seem to know what to do so I suggested she could bring me a shredded beef enchilada instead. She then looked at me as if I had just grew a third eye, then finally said let me see if I can do that. She went away for a while, luckily she left me with the«burnt» Verde and the rice and beans so I worked on the sides and chips while I waited. When she came back she asked what it was that I wanted, so I told her again. She said OK I will bring you the enchilada but I guess you don’t need rice and beans because you had those… well if that is how you opt to handle it, OK. Another bit later and I get my enchilada(just the enchilada on the plate), good size, nice and hot, great sauce, tender meat and very flavorful, a great alternate option. So in summary. The waitress appeared to be very under trained, she wasn’t too good at taking orders, bringing things promptly, providing refills or dealing with issues. Note that she never once apologized for anything(time, burnt food, etc.) and she charged me for my meal at the higher price for what I originally ordered, not the lower price of the item I actually ate. The best thing I had was the shredded beef enchilada, everything else was good but not noteworthy. The wife enjoyed her tacos, she said the sweet pork was really good. So, if the staff were trained better, they brought chips immediately and they handled problems correctly I would probably return for the shredded beef but otherwise I am in no hurry to return.

This place was decorated really well, friendly and attentive service but I was just not impressed with the food. I’m a huge Mexican food fan and usually judge a place by their rice and tortillas. First off, they give you chips and salsa and I could immediately tell that the chips were store bought, at least they warmed them up though. I ordered a chicken chimichanga with rice and beans and the rice tasted like boxed rice. The chimichanga wasn’t crispy like they’re supposed to be. Wish I had got just a burrito so I could tell if the tortilla were good or not. My friend got a Navajo taco which she wasn’t very happy with. She agreed with the rice tasting boxed. I usually try to eat somewhere twice before dismissing it but just based off those things I won’t be going back very soon.

I really like this place. First time I got a taco salad that filled me up and was good. Second time I got chili verde. I really liked the verde, it was spicy enough to clear my sinuses and there was plenty for leftovers.

If you are looking for an El Matador replacement — then this is your place. The food is great as were the prices. The owner(Nannette) came out and greeted us as well… and asked for our input. We will definitely came back.

I really wanted this restaurant to be good, I’m thinking of trying it again after it has been open for a while. The food was bland and cold. Everyone’s food at my table was cold although the plates were piping hot. I wanted to like the sweet pork but it had a lot of chunks of fat in it. I asked for flour tortillas for my tacos instead of corn. Apparently that translated into wrapping my small taco filling inside a large burrito sized shell. Weird. We ordered the desert that was the fried dough, and even that was under fried and doughy on the inside. The chips are cheap store bought and I’m positive the salsa was store bought as well. For now go across the street and eat at Taco Time.

Food is really bland. The service is ok, but really nothing special. If you’re looking for a place that is ok, this is it. If you want something unique and flavorful, this is not it. It is a middle of the road Mexican food place serving the same thing every other place does and doing it just ok.

We were really hesitant to try Orlando’s due to all the negative reviews but we were pleasantly surprised! We had a great experience. We got seated quickly. Our waiter, Matt, was really nice and accommodating. He helped us choose some tasty dishes. Our food came out fairly quickly for how busy they were. We ordered the taco salad with sweet pork. I feel that a lot of restaurants struggle getting a good tasting sweet pork so I was nervous but it was actually delicious! The chips and salsa were really good too. The chili releno was different than what most places serve but I loved it. This place is really good. Not the best mexican I have ever had, but it was good enough I would happily go back again and again.

Take this review with a grain of salt, as we were there the very first night of the soft opening, with a limited menu. We had a chimichanga that had a good flavor, but had little ‘crisp’ to it. We also tried their #3, a chili verde burrito that was a little mild for my taste, but again a very good flavor. The presentation of the food was much better than many Mexican restaurants, and the service, while a tad slow(first night!) was very pleasant. This place is as least as good as any other Mexican restaurant within 20 miles, with the potential to be the best. Will be trying again soon.
