Villa Linda

Stopped in for a couple of .99 cent breakfast tacos to go on Saturday morning. I tried the bacon and egg tacos. The were just Ok, hot and fresh but nothing special. They came with a red and green sauce. The red was pretty bland and the green had a little bite to it but was different, more of a thick creamy salsa. For the price it’s not a bad deal.
The parking lot is shared with the La Quinta next door but there was plenty of parking spaces. The inside of the restaurant was clean and the waitress was friendly. I may go back one evening and sit outside with a margarita and try one of the dinner plates.

There was a cockroach walking along the wall next to my booth. I notified the waitress and she moved us to another table. It took about 5 minutes for the guy to come with a fly swatter looking for it, but by the time he started looking it had already walked over the chair I was sitting on and disappeared. I was horrified. When I tried to tell them where it went they just walked passed me and pretended I didn’t say anything. Immediately after, they sat the next family to arrive in the same booth even though there were many others. They had two small children eating food off the same table the roach crawled over and it was never wiped down.

My husband and I went yesterday for the $ 6.95 lunch buffet. Delicious! Not a huge variety, but so yummy and seasoned perfectly. Don’t let the dated décor and aged interior scare you. It is very clean and well maintained. The employees are helpful, friendly and are constantly cleaning. On the buffet was a chicken dish with corn on the cob, fantastic sopas that were topped with some of the best shredded beef mixture and cojita cheese that I have ever tasted, chili rellonoes stuffed with the same yummy beef mixture and chicken and beef parrillas with onions and peppers. Also there was mexican rice and retried beans. For dessert, watermelon, cantaloupe and brownies. They will gladly bring you chips and a variety of salsas if you ask. The only downside was the $ 2.59 price for iced tea. Nevertheless, we will be back!

Food is tasty. Friendly and fast service. Easily accessible from the I-​10 feeder heading east. Lots of parking space and right beside La Quinta.
