Hancock Fabric

This is the only store in Katy that one a month offer free demo classes on Furniture Upholstery like dinning chairs, ottoman, benches, Cornice box for your window treatment. Sewing classes demos how to make a cushion for out door patio or indoor seating, pillows and others. Go to visit the store a transfomation happened, they have a new manager and you can tell. Her name is Nancy.

This store is laughable. I wonder how much theft goes on in it simply because I stood by the cash register for nearly 6 minutes. No one was in the store. Not even the employees apparently. I’ve only ever purchased from this place once. That was about three years ago. I come to it because joanns is farther. Go to joanns.
If you’re wondering what happened with this experience, I ended up throwing everything on the counter in front of me. It was a lot. I don’t feel bad though. It gave someone something else to do than NOT BEING IN THE STORE AT ALL!!! Horrible place. It needs to close down. The employees working here shouldn’t have work if this is their ethic. It’s a wonder it’s even open.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other Unilocal reviewers on here. This place has HORRIBLE customer device. I am a new sewer and self taught and I was in need of some advice and help… never received it. I ended up googling what I needed. On top of that the place is an absolute MESS! Even if I knew what I was looking for I seriously doubt I’d find it because of the disarray. Does anyone know of another fabric/​sewing store in South Katy?

I stopped by looking for yarn, and left disappointed. Yes, I’m aware that they are a fabric store, but I’ve shopped at yarn in Hancock Fabrics all over TX and the Midwest and have never sen such a small, crappy selection. If looking for yarn, skip this place.

Bad costumer service, slow! Just two people in store, old people, rude! Never come here!!!

I think I would have preferred it if they just said «I’m sorry, I’m too lazy to check on that for you» or «I have no idea what we sell».
I live in Sugar Land. The closest store to me is Bellaire, but they were sold out of the Bridal Satin in black. So I called Katy and asked. The first girl didn’t even know what Bridal Satin was, so she got someone else on the phone —
Employee — «What are you looking for?»
Me — «Black Bridal Satin. It comes on a tube.»
Employee — «I have Bridal Satin, but it’s on a bolt, not a tube.»
Me — «No, I don’t think that’s it. I’m looking for the 100% acetate Bridal Satin»
Employee — «Yes, but the bridal satin is not acetate, it doesn’t come on a tube. Are you looking for Duchess satin?»
Me — «No, I’m looking for the Bridal Satin in black»
~sigh.
I drive over. I find the black Bridal Satin (sku # 710 103) ON A TUBE. The sticker on the end clearly reads «BRIDAL SATIN, 100% ACETATE» (you can find it on their website). I pointed it out to the manager, and her employee’s only defense was «That’s not what I think of as Bridal Satin.»
Then what the hell would you like me to call it, if not by the name on the end of it’s bolt so YOU know when I’m talking about it?
I bought 3 yards because I needed it (and I drove so far to get it), but I guess I’ll be finding a new source.
