I’ve tried many dishes on their giant menu, and everything has been great! Everything from the quality of the meats to the seasoning, they use the best ingredients. Their lunch special is great! Everything is cooked fresh. Friendly staff, and they always make sure customers have a great experience.

This place is good! Fresh food. hot big portions! You can for sure share a plate which I saw most families doing. I got the philly cheese steak and it was really good! Lots of meat — if your in the area its a for sure place to try! The burgers looked amazing too
This place has quality food and some of he best cooking I’ve came across here in Katy. Their sirloin steak and potatoes are like grandmas cookin! Me and my wife go here often and will continue to do so!

Went during lunch on Friday, busy but the two cashiers kept the line moving. Wait time was about 5 – 10 minutes to get food once ordered. Pretty good, considering it hasn’t been sitting under a heat lamp waiting for you. Chose from the $ 7.99 lunch menu which had a good variety to choose from. I went with the burger and fries. Burgers are good and plenty to fill you up.

I met the owner at the hospital just by chance one day and had always wanted to try it out. My dad had some dr appts in the area so I dropped him off and gabbed some grub. It’s much like willies as you order then find a seat. But that’s where the similarities stop. The quality of food is so much better. Their lunch menu is huge and well priced. The tables were clean, even during the lunch rush. I had the steak sandwich with fries and it was amazing. The bread was spongy enough to hold the juices, and the meat was tender. If I’m ever hungry for lunch I will swing by and have another meal from there. Great food and reasonably priced!

Had the Mushroom Swiss Burger and it was very delicious! The french fries were good and crisp! This was my first time here and will definitely be back.

Great fries, good burger, really busy during meal times. Pro tip, the black current tea is awesome. There are better places for breakfast, but way better than fudrukers for burgers.

Dear 9’ers. You need to work on your front register speed of service. Takes to long to move people through the line when ordering. You cashiers are either too slow or you need a better order taking system. Your cook puts his mouth on the microphone when calling out order numbers and you can’t understand him. Craziness. Food good and like then menu. Thanks.

Came in for lunch on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised by all of the options that they offered. I decided to go with the grilled chicken salad and it was perfect. The chicken was great quality, grilled to perfection. Came loaded with avocado and bacon. Others in my group had the patty melt which they thoroughly enjoyed. Will be back again very soon! Lunch specials for $ 7.99 are a bargain!

Salad: Big chunky cubes of white core of the head of lettuce, not enough dressing and probably using the cheapest low quality dressing that can be purchased. Chicken Fried Steak: not bad. large portion, well prepared Gravy: foodservice mix and serve white pasty junk that ruins the chicken fried steak. Green Beans: open can, heat and put on plate. no seasonings of any kind at all. Nothing was horrible except the gravy, nothing was really good. I see no reason to return. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I’d heard good things about this place from other people so we tried it. I shouldn’t have bothered. Maybe it was my own fault for ordering a steak but I figured«Hey, how much can you mess up a sirloin?!». Well, the answer is a lot. A whole lot. Somehow, they managed to make me a rare steak that tasted as though it was burned. Pretty impressive, really. My wife liked it fine and they had beer. These are the only reasons they get two stars. Maybe I’ll try them again with something simple like a burger but probably not.

Chicken fried chicken was delicious! Chicken fajitas were good. Beef fajitas and chopped steak were tender but no flavor. The place was clean, employees were kind and portions large. I like that their was a variety for when everyone is craving different things. Will return again.

If you have never eaten at 9ers than you are missing out! From the owner who serves and helps customers to the friendly staff, this place is a must visit. The food here is excellent for the prices. It will not overwhelm your pocketbook. You will walk away full, happy and with some money left over. On this visit I had the Texas Pounder which is what I believe is their signature burger. WARNING before you order this burger you better be hungry or have a friend to help eat. You better be strong because its like carrying a ton of food to the table. Be prepared for leftovers when you order this. This burger has 2 patties bacon jalapeños and about everything else you can imagine. The meal deal comes with steak fries and a fountain drink. I’ll let the photo speak for itself. Fresh fast and filling. Love this place.

Tasty regional food at a good price. Huge menu offering variety. The $ 7.99 lunch specials are a great deal. For years, 9ers used to be located about a mile south, near Ruthie’s on the Grand Parkway. A few years ago, 9ers moved up to Kingsland. The new location is a bit bigger and has a good mix of small(1 – 2 people) booths and larger tables. I have been to both locations over the years and have enjoyed the food. To me, 9ers is a lot like Skeeters, although Skeeters focuses more on Tex-Mex. The burgers are good at 9ers, and you can also get shrimp po-boys, salads, baked potatoes, chicken breast, ribeye steak, chicken fried steak, catfish, shrimp, fajitas and breakfast. For those days where everyone in the family wants something different to eat, 9ers menu variety fits the need. Note that the menu offers breadth, not depth. If you want to choose from a good variety of fajitas, go to Ruthie’s. If you want to choose from more than one type of steak, go to Saltgrass. The one thing that 9ers has a good variety of is the burgers. There are 12 – 15 different kinds of burgers to choose from. I have had several different kinds, and they were all good. The chicken variety is also not bad. The other day, I was in the area and stopped by for lunch. This 9ers location offers about 15 different $ 7.99 lunch specials, including the big burger, chicken sandwiches, a shrimp PoBoy, and chicken fingers. I ordered a big burger lunch special, which came with fries and a drink. The half-pound burger was delicious, and so was the potato salad that I substituted for the fries. One thing I noticed on my last visit was that the burger patty was very thin. I prefer thicker patties so I can get the patty cooked medium. Still tasty, though. Just like Skeeters, don’t expect much for service at 9ers. You order when you walk in, drinks are self service, and you are given a number to pick-up your food later at the counter when it is ready. I want to return and try breakfast sometime or another lunch special.

The food here is excellent. It’s hard to get a 5 star review being an order and pickup style service. It just requires people to work too hard to enjoy the dining experience. Generous portions, the chicken salads were amazing, the burgers were amazing. The fajitas were lacking in veggies but had a lot of chicken. Good onion rings. A solid choice for about any diet.

I’m a Katy resident. I live 1 minute from 9ers. Walked in alone on a Wednesday night at 630. Only one table occupied. «I wonder why they are so empty. How could they have been in Katy for so long and even moved to a better location and be this dead?» I thought. «Lupe Tortilla is packed every night.» Got to my table and drank my soda and got busy on my cell phone. After a while I realize I don’t have my food and see it sitting on the counter. I go up and take it and ask if they called the number figuring they did and I didn’t hear it. As I’m walking back I see the«cook» turn to one of the other 2 employees at the front of the empty restaurant and signal he’d called it 3 times. Left my food on the table untouched and walked out after pointing out I was the ONLY person in there. I was too upset to eat. I figure that will at least force one of them to take the 3 second walk they should have made in the first place. Will never go again and will post this in a few more locations for good measure.

Much like the location in the Richmond area, one goes up to the counter and orders the meal. Do yourself a favor and look at their menu online before you go. Get your own coffee and drinks, get your own dang cutlery and napkins too, after you order. I was very satisfied with my Veggie Skillet. Plentiful veggies, full of flavor, amongst my scrambled eggs. It didn’t come with a side of anything but there was plenty of it for this Weight Watchers gal. Tortillas were delivered but I was unsure which of us four diners they belonged to. I snagged an American potato off my husband’s plate and it was very good. Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Enormous one stall bathroom for the ladies, pretty sure the guys’ loo is like that too. I don’t understand the reviewer that said the bathrooms were crowded??? The coffee was good. The place is clean. The outside patio had a very nice breeze and ceiling fans above picnic tables for those beautiful autumn and spring days.

I wish that’s was a way to do this with giving no stars … This is an update to my review … I had meant to do it when the incident happened, but I kept forgetting to do it. So upon my initial review, the owner of the place calls my relative and demands that she speak to me. Anyway, she calls me and I don’t pick up. She leaves a voice mail asking I call her back. Why? She calls again … Again I don’t answer. She tells my relative that she’s demanding that he bring me by to discuss my review, and give me a tour of the kitchen. Seriously? She told him that I need to change my review or delete it. So, I end up going so she leaves him alone. And, I wish I hadn’t. In my opinion it was pointless … Basically she’s telling me that she can’t believe I gave her such a terrible rating and that only my review is hurting her business. Never mind that there are other negative reviews about her business … It was just mine that ‘hurt’ her. And why? Because my relative works there and she expected a better review? Lady, I will not give an establishment a great review if I did not like the service or food. Sorry … She than tells me that I said her chicken fried steak was terrible … Ah, WHEREINMYREVIEWISTHAT??? As far as I knew I was doing my review soley on the chili fries, which the chili IS canned, the pie, and the onion rings … As I had so clearly stated. I know the onion rings are not freshly made there and neither is the pie. The food is overpriced and the selection of food is still too overwhelming. I made my review out to be unbiased and played no favoritism what so ever. I based my review on MY experience there and what I observed, not from what my relative has or hasn’t told me. A tour of the kitchen I didn’t want or need. I didn’t say anything bad about the kitchen. So I declined the offer. ‘Touring’ the kitchen won’t make me revise my review … You know, because again I didn’t say anything bad about the kitchen. Other things were said, but it makes no sense to post them. She is very bad professionally and needs a course in management skills. But that’s just my opinion. I did, however … While I was there that day listening to her, have a chocolate shake. And, I’m sorry. It was terrible. Truly, truly terrible. I had a couple sips and that was it for me. I trashed it. You could taste no CHOCOLATE what so ever and … did I mention that it tasted horrible. With that being said, I will not be back as a patron to this restaurant. The lack of professionalism from the owner left a sour taste in my mouth. The food that I did have, well … If you read my review than I don’t need to repeat it. Others may have had a better experience there and think the food is outstanding. That’s great. But again, this is my experience. And according to Unilocal guidelines, a business owner asking consumers to post reviews is not allowed. I found that out after talking to someone about it. But, as long as my review was unbiased and pertained to my experience, which it did. It did not come off as being in favor or promoting a establishment in which my relative works for. Nor was I trying to be vindictive or malevolent in trying to ‘destroy’ someone’s business. In my experience, when a consumer gives a negative comment, and it’s a comment that others have said. I take from it and strive to make it better. I want my consumers to enjoy their time in my establishment and I’d want them to come back and bring others with them. Maybe that’s just me :/ Oh and … Kitchen staff is still muy caliente!!! Sadly, that’s my only plus about this place.
