I love bubbletea & Teadrops is one of best once I have tried so far in KC-MO area. They really work on their tapioca pearls, which I think is why I really like this place. They do get very busy on some days, but the drinks are worth the wait.

For a California guy, I’ve had my share of great(and terrible) boba. This place definitely hits the spot: consider coming to this place for a cool and refreshing drink. Flavors are delicious and the boba is cooked very well. Both this spot and the one at Westport is satisfying. Great work guys!

Bottom Line Up Front: Best bubble tea in the Midwest. Lychee green tea over ice is awesome. Good selection of flavored green/black teas. Chewy tapioca. Closed on weekends. I am a self-proclaimed ambassador of Bubble Tea. Go to this location, not the one on WESTPORT, quality is NOT the same. I’ve had bubble tea at every location possible in Kansas City and other places throughout St. Louis and Lawrence. Teadrops Downtown location is by far the best I’ve had in the Midwest. Being from Houston and San Jose where the asian community is huge and bubble tea places are easier to find than Starbucks, I am very picky about my bubble tea. I am also obsessed with it. One year during college, I had a total of 370+ drinks; yup, more than 1 a day on many occasions. So ya, I think I know my stuff. This Teadrops location is attached to the H&R Block building in downtown. Free parking may be a pain to find but Cosentino’s Market validates so we usually park in their garage and just pick something up from the market before we leave. I’ve been to the downtown location 3 – 4 times now, every time has been great. It is never crowded. It has plenty of room to relax inside whether at the table or the couch. There are also outdoor patio tables. The workers are very friendly and usually starts a conversation with you while they make your drink. I’ve only had the lychee green tea over ice with tapioca because I was hooked from day one. The drink is very refreshing and is not too sweet like some places. My Fiancé usually gets the Mango black tea over ice and its also very refreshing with a very good mango flavor that does not taste like artificial flavoring. Ultimately, it comes down to the tapioca for me and this place has served me perfectly cooked tapioca every time. If you enjoy flavored teas and/or bubble teas, you have to try this place. Unfortunately, the Westport location does no perform at the same level as the Downtown location so do not let Westport leave you disappointed in the Teadrops brand. Enjoy one now while its scorching hot outside, makes it even better!

Heather is FRIENDLY. Has ongoing conversational relationships with customers. If I worked close to here I would come back more regularly. The chocolate ganache brownies are soooo good! Everyone who works in the building comes down to buy her desserts and she is constantly sold out. She has to tell people when to come back for more. The tea is milk or green tea… Specify which you want or you will get milk. Taro was okay… But one of their best sellers. Gotta try them all.

Tea bubble was good! I didn’t have the opportunity to get anything else however! If I lived in KC I would definitely come here a lot!

Couldn’t tell you how their drinks are because I couldn’t order. It was like we came in after they were closed but they weren’t allowed to tell us. There were two employees behind the counter that were not acknowledging us. Outstanding.

I feel pretty guilty giving only two stars here, as this is a place that I’ve enjoyed quite a bit in the past, and the owner couldn’t be more friendly and eager to make the place work. Unfortunately, the more the business struggles, the more it loses its way and strays further from what I loved about it in the first place. They’re in a tough spot, facing the dead walls of H&R Block’s headquarters on 13th street in a space that isn’t obviously open to the public. As they’ve tried to overcome their lack of visibility, they’ve made a lot of compromises that are apparent. Visibility isn’t the only issue, either: the vibe of a former Starbucks space inside of a corporate office building just doesn’t deliver the same bohemian charm of the much-better Westport location, and it doesn’t feel like a place you’d want to pass an afternoon talking to strangers and friends. Likely because business wasn’t cutting it, they cut ties with the couple of baristas they had that knew and loved tea and could also make an excellent espresso beverage. All of the eager friendliness and appreciation of the owner, which is palpable, can’t make up for beverages that just aren’t that good as a result. Because they are stretched so thin and trying to do too much, often you can walk in and wait a couple of minutes for someone toiling in the back to notice you. They’ve also tried a variety of schemes to attract a lunch crowd, the latest of which was to offer hot dogs. Sadly, I waited to long to try«falafel Friday,» a welcome lunch choice for the mostly-vegetarian that looked tasty. The seemingly frantic attempt to try everything until something sticks means nothing has time to stick, it seems. Mix that with a paltry selection of normal coffee shop stuff, like one choice for coffee cake, and you move on to places where you have a better chance of finding something you’ll like. A basket of fruit marked up 200% isn’t going to cut it with a grocery store across the street. On the plus side, the tea selection and quality is excellent, but it isn’t anything you can’t get elsewhere. I don’t speak for the bubble tea as it isn’t an «every day» kind of drink for me, but simply having it available with few other options downtown might be their saving grace. I’d love to see these guys pull through, but it is a crowded marketplace for expensive drinks, and these few blocks are loaded with great choices.

We love this place! Such a nice, relaxing ambiance. And the tea selections are awesome! The workers were so helpful and knowledgable and were more than happy to let us sit around and relax for hours. Real Midwest hospitality with a nice eclectic feel. The owner even sat around and had tea time with us. Does it get any better than that? Can’t wait to go back!

I used to work at H&R Block, so it was nice to have Teadrops downstairs. We worked long hours, so if you wanted food or drinks there you had to time it right. I don’t blame them, because I’m not sure that there’s a lot of foot traffic at night. The drinks and food were always good and service friendly.

I called the number on this Unilocal page multiple times(around the times of 2, 4 and 5 pm) to see if this store was open, no one ever picks up so I assume they were close, indefinitely. Today, I was doing some grocery shopping across the street when I saw the open sign at Tea Drops. Finally, my boba cravings will cease to exist for today! I asked for a honeydew milk tea frozen and a rose milk tea shaken and I was told, that it is either milk or tea based. I guess the concept of milk tea(combination of milk AND tea) isn’t understood here yet… so I chose tea based. After my drink was made, I was served rose milk. I pointed out the error and the cashier told me that she could make me another one; I told her it was fine and that I’ll just take it, seeing that it was 15 minutes before closing time which was 4PM… FOURFREAKIN P. M ON A FRIDAY!!! Verdict: the rose milk was alright and the boba in my frozen honeydew milk was… frozen. Overall, I will not be coming back here since their hours of operation are inconvenient. They tend NOT to be open on weekends and after 4 pm on weekdays. gross.

Best corned beef *ever* in KC. Before you say, «Oh Susan, you so crazy», let me back up to give all the deets. I’ve been in Tea Drops a few times. They’re really one of the only places in the downtown core that you can go with your dog, thanks to ample seating on their patio. Downtown Tea Drops, much like their Westport location, is a great place for tea and coffee, though tea is their specialTEA. Ha ha. Corny puns aside, they really do make good stuff. After discovering their NY-style deli meats, I’ve gone back to try it. Seriously good stuff. The best in KC. For realz. How so? The owners are the former owners of D’Bronx(which pretty much explains why D’Bronx sucks — riding their old reputation). They know their stuff. Well, at least their NY-style Jewish deli stuff. Plus, the other NY connection they have is their boba(tapioca pearls). They get them direct from Flushing, NY. I love their teas and other drinks. My only complaint is sometimes the boba are frozen and you have to let them sit in your drink and thaw out. I wish they’d pop it in the microwave or something for 15 seconds. Note– They are open late on days the adjoining Rep has a show going on.

Tea, tea, wonderful tea! I’m a tea junkie and Teadrops satisfies my habit. Not only do they have a delightful variety of hot and cold beverages, including bubble tea, but they have a huge selection of loose tea for sale. The service is always friendly and helpful. They serve lunch, although I’ve never eaten there yet. I’m all about the tea! My one gripe is the hours, of course. Yet another downtown business that closes at 5pm during the week… I think they’re open until 7pm on Friday. And they’re closed ALL weekend. I heard a rumor that they open on Saturday nights for KC Rep events. But how the hell is anyone supposed to know this? And are we supposed to keep a schedule of KC Rep events posted on the fridge to know when we can go to Teadrops? Not only are there thousands of residents downtown, but I’m betting that a good chunk of people who leave the movies, or a show at the Midland or Sprint Center don’t immediately want to go get shitfaced in the P&L but would rather go have a coffee, tea, or hot cocoa and wind down before going home. Too bad! There’s no where to go! Wake up, downtown coffee/tea shops! There are people who live downtown! We like beverages AFTER5pm M-F…even on weekends. *gasp* I know. Bizarre.

While some of the products are a bit pricey, the quality of the edibles, the tea, and the service is fantastic. This is my go to spot for loose leaf tea, and the pastries and food are a great reposte if you’re running about town and want a good snack. The atmosphere is friendly and the location is easy to find. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone, local or otherwise.

We were walking around the Power and Light mighty thirsty and not for the alcoholic type of libation. Surprisingly Teadrops was open on a Saturday night. They have extended hours on Saturdays when the KC Rep Theatre is open. We were greeted by an older couple that were happy to see us in their empty store. I had a hard time picking my drinks, but they were kind enough to help on out. I got a taro coconut frozen bubble tea and a grape italian soda. We noticed that they now serve sandwiches during lunch time. The turkey breast with cranberry relish and hot corned beef peaked my interest. Since they didn’t have any prepared, they gave me a large sample of corn beef slices along with the cranberry relish. Bön Appetite! The corned beef was the best I had in the KC Metro ever. I had never had an Italian soda before. It was really sweet and just the way I liked it. The bubbe tea was excellent as well. The tapioca balls were a bit harder than I’d have liked, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. On a cold day, perhaps I shouldn’t have ordered 2 cold drinks. I should have gone for the pot of tea like other customers were going for. I have to say, the place has a warm trendy vibe with music from broadway and musicals of all things, which I actually liked. For being in the Power and Light, they have excellent value in all of their offerings and are priced quite well. We stayed there for about and hour and a half talking to the owners and their companions and customers. We plan on stopping by before going to the Consentino Market or when walking our dog Colt when the weather improves. They have a large outdoor area where you can tie up your dog, order and come on back outside. I’d love to see them succeed, but I feel that a lot of people don’t know they are there as they are a bit hidden from the street. Also, they tend to close at 5 pm on weekdays, so that prohibits my evening visits.

Nice, quiet atmosphere. I wanted tea, but wasn’t sure what kind I wanted. So, the man behind the counter asked me some questions about my day(I had come from a conference and was about to go to the airport) and recommended mate. I had never tried this before, and I liked it a lot. Plus, the personalized, kind service was great.

I love some good tea, and Teadrop did not drop the tea ball! They have a really good selection of tea with about fifty varieties on hand. I have a special place in my heart for white tea; the China white peach tea was everything that I wanted and more. I also tried a Rooibos Chai and Japanese cherry blossom green tea. Both of these were quite good too. They also have bubble tea and coffee drinks. The service and location are great! It is a little slice of paradise in downtown. I would be totally addicted if I worked at the H&R building. The servers were quite friendly and knowledgeable. This place is amazing, and I hope that the good folks of Kansas City will support them.
