Employees were very rude, however the food was good. Probably just a good place to get carry out.

I think I’m more of a fan of their salads than their pizza. I’ll use the«I’m from New York City» excuse and mention that I’m pretty particular about my pizza. No pizza by the slice BUT you can order a Mini Mia which is a cute little pizza and a salad. I already forgot what pizza I ordered but that spinach and goat cheese salad I got… uh-mazing!

First time in Kansas City, so my wife and I were looking for some good places to chow down. «The Peanut» next door was packed and the server there seemed super disinterested, so we left and came here for pizza. We got a full Greek salad and built a 12″ pepperoni, ricotta, and artichoke pizza. Salad was okay. Tomatoes seemed to have been fermented and were without bite — a bit soggy. The flavors were pretty good otherwise. Pizza was so-so. Crust was cooked perfectly, but they really skimped on the toppings, especially the ricotta and artichoke. When I order ricotta, I expect nice sized blobs. Nope. There were traces of artichoke here and there. Again, flavor was good, but if the toppings we paid for were given more emphasis, it could have been great. For the price, I expected more. I probably won’t be going again.

The quality of the pizza and salad has really gone down in recent years. Obviously 2011 my rating was a 4 and with a lot of visits I’m downgrading to 2. The pizza combination I used to get was the caramelized onion, goat cheese over a fig marmalade. They have changed up the menu and out goes my favorite. I can order some of these items individually and make up my own but it isn’t the same. Also, the pizzas don’t seem to get baked all the way through. They have been doughy and chewy instead of crisp and tasty. The salads, which I previously raved about, are dismal. The last visit I ordered a full Greek. It had no flavor and the tomatoes were watery, pale and nasty. I left all of them on my plate. My husband’s salad, the 8 color, was the same tasteless serving. I’m glad I tried Spin one last time using my birthday free Mia coupon because it’s definitely the last time. There are other better tasting pizza choices in KC.

Went back to Spin and had my first gluten free crust – it was awesome, thin and crisp, absolutely delicious, topped with fresh spinach, carmelized onions, and pancetta. Also, breaking news, our daughter who was part of the generous Spin Go Red pizza party for cardiac ICU staff received her heart transplant and is doing great. We will make sure that her first pizza after transplant is from Spin!

Crust was burnt not very good quality control. Service was ok but needs improvement. Worth trying one more time as staff was still new and trying to find their way.

It’s an alright pizza spot. I do remember I got a glass of sangria and some wonderful gelato. The pizzas are made so fast and wasn’t impressed with the flavors. So nothing bad but nothing real good.

An update, I did get a positive response from the store which was great so we decided to go back on Tuesday… where the exact same lady did the exact same thing. I don’t know what her deal is but she will pull the regulars away from the store.

Never coming here again. This place is run so unprofessionally. I came here a couple of weeks ago to meet a friend. She got stuck in traffic so I grabbed a wine and asked if I could order a pizza before happy hour ended to get the happy hour price. They said sure, they would make sure to check on me. 5:55 comes around so I find my server and ask to order the margarita pizza. They bring me out the large size. I said, I wanted the happy hour size, not the large. They simply shrugged. I pressed the point a bit saying I ordered during happy hour for the happy hour size. They said they don’t have pizza on happy hour. However, I happened to be here a month or two ago for happy hour and the pizza was on then. I pulled out my phone and found somewhere online that said what the happy hour was. Again, I got more shrugs and a bill for a large pizza that I did not want. Very unprofessional staff. With so many amazing pizza places now open in KC, I have NO reason to visit Spin again.

Being that yesterday was 80 degrees(in October! Holla!) we decided to grab dinner somewhere with a patio. SPIN! it was. We decided to switch things up and get a white sauce pizza. #16 caught our eyes thanks to a favorite ingredient(goat cheese). The Sonoma salad also snagged our attention, so we shared both. The salad was phenomenal — light and refreshing, it was perfect to split with a shared pizza. I am going to try to make it on my own, I’m that hooked. SPIN! has a different serving process, but both of the people helping us were friendly. It was a wonderful, warm fall dinner, and I will definitely be back to SPIN!(and next time will save room for Glacé).

This is the best«quick, delicious, cost effective» dinner or lunch in KC. The salads and the pizzas have interesting toppings that go beyond your normal pizza place. It is very quick and has something for everyone. I wish there were more restaurants like this in other cities. Unlike the new trend of «chipotle– like» pizza restaurants(i.e. blaze/pieology) — this one offers salad/flatbread options, too which sets it apart.

THEBESTPIZZAINKCMO!!! HANDSDOWN!!! They have a beautiful décor that is great for an evening out with friends or a date night with your boyfriend or girlfriend. It’s even a great place for families and very kid friendly. They have done great wines and an excellent selection of soups and salads, but the main attraction is the artisan pizza. You can watch them make each one from the great view at the bar or while your standing in line reading the menu. Build your own pizza or try one of their house specials, either way you will leave completely satisfied. It’s one of my favorite places and a true Kansas City gem! By the way, you have to try the gelato, when you go, DONOTSKIPDESSERT!!! IT’S SOGOOD :-) !!

I still like this place but a couple of quality control issues have come up the last couple of visits – 1. A side salad that was mainly the white, crunchy parts of the iceberg lettuce and was browning. I wouldn’t have served this salad to a guest. 2. Pizza was very greasy underneath — if I want greasy pizza(and believe, me, I don’t!) there are plenty of other places for this. Also, why is it no longer possible to order a pitcher of beer? Seems like a sneaky way to charge more if you ask me. I will be paying close attention to things next time — hopefully I can keep this place top on my dine in pizza options in town!

Great place to watch the royals — sit at the bar — gluten free crust is chewy and good — ranch dressing and peppers are extra $ — really? Petty charges that make regulars have irritable bowel syndrome ! Give it out free — we won’t abuse your dressings !

Extraordinary pizzas, salads & appetizers here. Great wine selection and beers on tap too. Décor is modern & rustic. Seating is spacious, appropriately lit and two TVs for games or current events. Oh and the gelato!!! It’s connected to The Westin where I stayed. I visited this restaurant three times and tried two different pizzas, two different salads and two different gelatos. I will miss that place! Friendly staff too!

I grew up in KC and have lived in NYC for the last 7 years. So I was excited to try this place upon returning home for a holiday. This is NOT Neapolitan pizza. There are very strict rules, for good reason, that dictate what a Neapolitan pizza is made of, how it’s prepared and cooked etc. One look at the cornicione and undercarraige on SPIN! pizza and you realize it’s not being cooked at a high enough temperature. The dough does not exhibit any«leopord» spots and isn’t that perfect balance of crisp to soft and pliable. Your eyes are the fastest way to check for appropriateness– And this is NOT a wood fired oven anywhere near 900 degrees– Folks get pissed off when they see a KC Barbecue item on a menu in another town that is obviously NOTKC bbq. I feel the same rage here, because I have seen the light at places like Keste and Spacca Napoli, and desperately want that same level of quality and authenticity in my home town.

My friends all love SPIN! pizza, so after hearing about its greatness repeatedly from them I keep giving them second and third chances, but keep getting disappointed. When I used to live at the dorms at UMKC a few years ago, I walked over a couple of times because it was nearby. I remember ordering a flatbread once that tasted very bland and unremarkable. More recently, my friend recommended the eight color salad, and I ordered one to carry out. I can see why people like that salad, but the croutons in mine were all burnt which left a bitter taste in my mouth. They must be doing something right if so many people seem to like them, and maybe I’ve just been unlucky to have repeated bad experiences, but in my opinion there are many better options for pizza in KC than SPIN!

At Spin, you walk in, order your pizza, pay, and find a table to sit down. The pizza is delicious, thin crust pizza. The only thing is, they give you your bill to take with you to your table so that you tip the person that brings you your pizza… I just don’t know why that is necessary!

We are in the neighborhood quite often and make SPIN a part of our stop quite often as well! Yummy stuff! The gelato caps off our pizza meal just about every time too. Every once in a while we can get a weird service mishap(hence the four stars). For instance, one time we found pizza crust smashed on the bottom of two of our clean plates(hmmm) and another time our salads arrived at our table suspiciously smaller than our normal portion size, and once the kids macaroni meals(Kraft from the good old box by the way) arrived flat out cold. I will overlook these service issues because the pizza makes up for it. Note to management… Just need to check things in the kitchen a little tighter sometimes. But all that aside, SPIN is must for us when we are in the neighborhood on a Friday night! Yummo!

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and I’m so glad we finally did! I had the mini primavera pizza with greek salad and it was delightful. My only regret was having it with wheat crust. I had a bite of my husband’s pizza and he chose the original crust, which was better. We will definitely be back!

Like songs back in the day, some eating establishments«climb the charts,» and Spin is no exception. Perhaps my tastes are changing. So many people seem to love this place. And, it took a while, but I’m finally starting to see why. I’ve always liked the gelato, but, I’ve also found that if you keep your order simple, you won’t be disappointed. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and the closest I could get to a garden salad and it was fantastic.(Yes, I’m simple and so are my tastes in food)

On a random Saturday before hitting the Plaza to do a bit of shopping, we went on a unsuccessful hunt for some Christopher Elbow Milk Chocolate Turtles at Glacé, since we were hungry, we decided to give SPIN! a try. I’m going to start out with the fact I’m from New Jersey, so any pizza I eat I tend to be a VERY critical customer. I’ll start with the very superficial reasons they got four stars instead of five. First of all, I’m not a fan of a restaurant where you have to order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Honestly, if you’re going to deliver food to someone’s table, wait on them from the start, it’s just very confusing. The second superficial reason SPIN! isn’t worth five stars, is the fact they choose random wines to serve by the glass. I guess they think it’s a cute gimmick, but if you see a rose you want to try and it’s not one of the wines«currently available» by the glass — it can put a slight damper on your meal. This is where the complaints about SPIN! end. I LOVED the fact you are able to order a small pizza and have a salad with it. I chose the regular pizza with prosciutto as a topping. Heaven. Prosciutto on top of a pizza and a Greek salad on the side for UNDER $ 10 — amazing. Then I tasted it. DELICIOUS. Again, I’m from New Jersey, I know good pizza and this is the REALDEAL. The Greek salad was good as well, I lived in Greece for about six months and while it was an American-ized Greek Salad(lettuce and feta crumbles, not chunks). All in all, the pizza was delicious. We also got the meatball appetizer, which was also amazing, although it could have used a little more flat bread on the side. I am excited for when I can go to SPIN! again, as the next time I think I’m going to get a larger pie with prosciutto as a topping — only because I think the larger the pie, the more«Jersey» it’s going to get. I’m also hoping for the rose to be one of the wines that«won» the roll that week and I’m able to order it by the glass. I would have purchased it by the bottle — but my husband isn’t a wine drinker, so ordering a bottle of wine by myself would come across a TAD pathetic! If you want good pizza, go to SPIN! I can’t wait to go back. Oh, and another plus, the employees, from the management to the cooks are extremely polite, accommodating and treat their customers like gold. I really enjoyed my time and meal at SPIN! and can’t wait to eat there again, and again, and again, and again@

When SPIN! first came around, I was a bit hesitant. I think there are so many good pizza options in KC, and the first location I ever visited was not in my favorite area of town. I was with a group one time at a «Draws for a Cause» event at the Boulevard Brewery and they had these incredible sandwiches catered; the roast beef has asiago cheese, a touch of horseradish and was very good quality and the chicken sandwich comes with a delicious cherry pepper relish and pancetta mayo. This peek into their menu outside of pizza woke my eyes up to how good SPIN! is. Living a few blocks away, SPIN! is a bit of a staple for us now. The salads are amazing and they absolutely load it up when you get one in the restaurant. In my experience, getting one to-go has always been a letdown. May as well grab a spot on the patio there and enjoy it. What I love about this place is how well-priced it is for the quality. I’ve come around on the pizzas since exploring the menu more, and they’re pretty dang good. They’re not in the top pizza in KC discussion but they’re really good when paired up with one of the salads.
