This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Northland. It’s been closed for remodeling before, but when it is open it is consistently great food. I can’t say it is the best Chinese I ever had but it’s definitely a good location off the highway and has comfortable seating. I like the variety and could pretty much survive on the Crab Rangoon and egg rolls. I don’t feel like the lemon chicken was anything other than chicken with slices of lemon on it. The best lemon chicken I’ve had dripped with lemon flavor that seeped into the rice. My favorite dish is the Curry Chicken dish. I’m honestly not sure it’s a traditional dish, but I think it is really the most unique dish I’ve had in a Chinese restaurant.

Went here for lunch with a co worker. We got the lunch special. It came with an entrée, fried rice, crab Rangoon or egg roll and your choice of soup. We both got the egg drop soup, which was very bland tasting. It was also very gooey. For entrees we had general tso chicken and honey walnut shrimp. The shrimp was breaded and put in, what tasted like the same sauce my general tso chicken was in. The fried rice was dry and the egg roll had no taste. We will not be coming back here and I recommend you don’t waste your time and money and come here either.

We were driving for twelve hours and found this place after searching desperately for food. Good food, nice staff, very clean dining room and clean bathroom. Try the sweet and sour chicken!

It looks like the typical hole in the wall Chinese food restaurant where you never are sure whether it is really chicken or some other mystery meat. For that reason we waited a long time to try. Then one evening when we had exhausted our ideas we went exploring Unilocal and found that it had good reviews so we tried it. Wow! They have the best Chinese food! It is high quality and large portions. It doesn’t taste or look like it’s been sitting around all day. Think 5 star quality food with 3 star atmosphere and prices. It is now one of our favorite places.

This was our go-to Chinese restaurant for a long time. The food is a lot higher quality than a lot of other Chinese restaurants and the honey chicken is so delicious. I also really like their egg rolls. However, the past few times we’ve been there it’s seemed a little dirty, and I felt my plate hadn’t been cleaned very well, which is a HUGE turn off for me. For the price, there’s a new chinese restaurant over on 64th street and I’d rather eat there.

I’d say this is the best chinese food we’ve had in Kansas City. Up to this point we’ve been disappointed to say the least. We especially recommend the Honey Walnut Shrimp, but we’re a little disappointed with the fried rice. We didn’t order any chicken when we went, but I do here some people disappointed with it. We’ll be sure to try that next time.

Went here on New Years Day. They were only allowing dinner instead of lunch for the day. I got Orange Chicken which was already expensive enough without a side. The portion was huge but it tasted very overcooked and old. My giant plate of nothing but a bunch of dried out, over battered chicken was very unsatisfactory.

This has been my «go to» Chinese spot since I moved to the area. Have yet to find an item I would not order again. The sha sha beef is something I had not seen before and it has such a distinct flavor and the beef is so well cooked along with all the vegetables. I think that may be why I like this place sooo much so many of the dishes are drenched with vegetables. My definited recommendations: the moo shu pork, the black bean dishes, honey chicken. I’ve only gotten my food to go, when you call in they say 10 minutes and it’s piping hot when you show up. I read some other reviews tonight and I see there are other highly recommended dishes for me to try!

Went in for lunch and their lunch service and food was sub-par compared to carry-out. Most of our food was drenched in sauce and did not taste fresh. The waitress didn’t seem very interested in serving us and at the end I had to get up as if I was coming to the cash register for someone to get my ticket so I could pay. I’ve been staying away for a while due to this experience. Hopefully next time I get the inkling to try them again, I’ll remember to use their carryout and not their dine in.

I came here because it is literally up the street from me and I read the reviews on it. I was not disappointed at all. The outside makes it not look the best and so I almost didn’t try it just because of the appearance. I am glad I read the reviews on here because it was wonderful. When you walk in it looks a lot different than what you would expect. It is a little smaller than expected but very cute and clean. I used to be a waitress a couple years back and I know the all the ‘cleaning.’ I actually saw their waitress’s wear rubber gloves and deep clean their sections, that right there was so comforting! Our waitress was so nice, helpful, and fast and our food came out piping hot 5 minutes. literally after we ordered. Their portions are HUGE, so you will have leftovers! I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely go back!

It’s your normal family runned Chinese restaurant. Food is very good… very large portions and well worth the price… the chicken wings are excellent and the fried rice is delicious… the place is clean! Would definitely go back again… the twice cooked pork is great too!

Ok so I typed in Chinese food and read reviews. Took a chance on this place, cause I’m from Cali and am lost around here. Go the food to go and I was very very impressed on how quick the service was and how pipping hot the food was. The smells coming from the bags was heaven. I didn’t particularly care for the person running the register as he seemed bland and slightly bothered that I didn’t know exactly what I wanted and when I asked for a recommendation shrugged his shoulders. SO… I get home and WOW! The Pork Lo Mein, General Tso’s chicken, spicy Chicken were all very well seasoned and as good as I’ve had at some of my favorite places in California. That’s saying. Lot trust me. I also got the fried rice and it was average to pretty good. Over all I would have bumped to 4.5 if the rice and service were like the main courses. Don’t let the outside fool you these people can cook.

This place has been here for years and until I read the reviews on Unilocal we never went to try it That was my mistake we walked in the food was excellent had the spring roll and also had the Egg roll they were Excellent not at all salty they were excellent and the mustard sauce will clear your sinuses, so it is True Mustard sauce. Had the Sweet Sour triple delight and the Beef lo mien which were hot, freshly made promptly serve with fried rice. excellent. They have a very extensive menu and we will be heading back to try to crab Rangoon if it was anything like the spring rolls and egg roll I won’t be disappointed. I don’t think I have ever given 5 stars this one earned it.

One of the finer Chinese Chinese establishments in the KC Metro. I’ve had a very hard time finding good Chinese food since moving here. Although quite busy, they came over often to take care of us and the food was quite good. I’ll be back!

Absolutely a lunch stop. The lunch specials include a bowl of soup and a choice of a crab rangoon or an egg roll for under $ 6. The portions are perfect and I usually end up taking a little home. I’ve tried everything from the curry chicken to black pepper beef. If you want, they will make anything spicy for you.(As I am a spice queen.) My goal is to try a different dish every time. I like the quality of this food but it’s just not craaaaveable, you know, the salivating, got have it kind of crave. I really appreciate that the food is good and if you have any problems with it, they will accommodate. The service is always pleasant, prompt and polite. A great place to take people on a budget.

3.5 *‘s for when it’s good — We’ve been going here for a while now off and on. The Spring Rolls vary from Teh Absolute Awesome, to OK, to «EEG, Way too salty. »(Which is why we stopped coming back for a while.) Like Chicago weather during one 24-hour period, this variance can sometimes happen in the same meal… We ordered spring rolls to start with, and they were Awesome. So awesome in fact, that we ordered another set during the meal. One was still awesome(SixFootTwo’s) and mine was just Ok. Also, after taking Six’s order and chatting for a bit, the waitress took off to check another table and left me hanging for a few minutes… I was kind of like, WTFrog? So that was kinda weird. She’s usually really friendly though. An order of Mongolian Pork and fried rice later… Food is good, fried rice is great, Mountain Dew is just a trifle flat. Just be aware that the food experience here can vary a bit every time you go… The one thing I would advise the owners, is to DEVELOPCONSISTENCY — we like coming here, but sometimes ya just want to know it’s going to meet expectations, every time.
