We were greeted and seated promptly and with a smiling face. I started with black eyed peas and ham soup, it would have been very tasty but it was just too salty. Wife had tequila lime chicken salad and really liked it. I ordered prime rib French dip with fries. My sandwich was fantastic, I appreciated the generous serving of au jous not a little tiny ramekin. Fries were fresh and cooked to perfection/​not at all soggy., The menu looked fabulous and I look forward to coming back and trying other things.

I still associate this place with that bar we hung out during that weird time right after graduation from college where people went to forget about the fact that the real world isn’t as fun as college. Around 2007 – 2010, I used to stop in here frequently for lunch and it was always good enough to keep me coming back. I went the other day and I’m not sure what happened, but it is vastly improved. I ordered a gyro that was way better than I’d anticipated, and the service was great. It’s actually a great spot to hang out and get some work done during the day too. I’m most likely not going to be closing down the bar again anytime soon, but will be back for food again soon. Great work Falloon!

Horrible sexist bar. Poor service, degrading service and comments towards women, and if you disagree with the male pigs you are told to leave.
They promote nothing more than the masogenistic attitude of the managers and bartenders. You want male whiplash and degrading atmosphere then this is the place for you:(

Great spot, lots of tvs and very good service. One of two bars that have NFL package, in the Plaza. Drinks were good, though wish red sangria had cut up fruit in it. Chili dip and truffle fries were delicious, staff very friendly.

We went there on Tuesday for their taco specials. Their tacos were AWESOME. They packed a lot of flavor and meat (green chile chicken or pork), and they were reasonably make priced (2.50 per person). I went with two guys, we all had 2 tacos each, and that was enough (could have done 3 if I was hungrier).
It was very loud and crowded in the first room, but we got to sit in a side room that was much quieter. Service wasn’t anything fantastic, but no issues and somewhat prompt.
I’m definitely going to be a Tuesday regular :)

It’s was a good place to catch the football game and grab a bite. Ordered the calamari was not bad the Sriracha sauce on the plate brought it home. Ordered the peanut butter cheese cake and was also pretty good. Service was ok had to wave the bartender several times in order to place an order I was sitting at the bar.

Terrible service! The other royals fans that were there were worth the trip… my friend and I had a blast watching them win game four!

I have been here a couple times now. I went here today around 2:30−3 pm. Very crowded inside because of the Nebraska football game, but we found a seat outside. Our waiter working the outside area was very polite, attentive, and fast with our orders. I order what I always get, which is Parmesan & garlic wings. They are absolutely to die for, by far the best wings I have ever had. You have to try them. My beer was also cold, I can’t say one bad thing about this place, it’s a great place to have a quick bite to eat, watch a game, or just have a beer! Great bar, I will be back for those wings!

It’s funny when you move and think about the things you’ll miss most-​a bar never crossed my mind. One year out of KC and I often reminisce about this place. Fantastic and friendly staff, great drink specials, a high energy place to watch a game or catch up with friends, or one of two places open in 16 inches of snow. I love this bar!

We were walking around the plaza deciding what we were going to do that night and the next day, so we popped in here. It was a Friday night around 6:30 and it was busy out on the patio, but the bar was pretty open. We took a seat right in the middle, so I could decide on what fun kind of booze I was going to drink.
The bartenders were all really nice and made me whatever I wanted with my Cruzan Cherry Rum and the Sweet Tea Vodka. Maybe they were laughing on the inside, but when I’m out of town, that’s how I like to roll. Different kinds of fun booze we don’t typically find at home with whatever the bartender suggests.
We had our drinks and split a White Chicken pizza, which was pretty good. We were not having a dinner for a while, so this hit the spot.
The menu looked pretty good, next time we are town, we are putting this place on our list of spots to hit up. I’m mos def having the burnt end grilled cheese next time.
Stop in for a snack or a full meal, I think it’s a darn good spot!

You know what you’re getting when you walk in the door. I enjoy this place… outdoor patio is great and cigar friendly. Wait staff prompt and friendly. Bouncer keeps all patrons safe… great late night food option on the Plaza, which sadly has few for a «major metro area «.

The service was ok. We had a large table and they were patient. I was very disappointed in the honey lemon chicken. It was very very dry. The sauce didn’t taste honey or lemon. I usually would not sY bad comments and give the benefit, but for the price and quality, not worth it

Above average bar food. The honey mustard and house dressing especially. So if you’re not in the mood for great dressing, this… Is the place? It’s nice there’s never a wait when everything else on the plaza is full. Which is why I keep ending up here.

I had a nice time. The waitress was tentative to our needs. Food was very flavor, chicken wings with ghost pepper sauce was my favorite. Definitely a late night option. Not the cheapest late night option, but still a refreshing change from the same boring late night choices.

Great place for munchies and drinks. It used to be my place to meet friends after school. It is around the corner and away from the plaza.
My friends had the jumbo wings, I had the burger. The wings definately smelled wonderful that I forgot I was eating a burger. The truffle fries are edible but wasn’t something I would order $ 7 by itself.

I really liked this place. It was a cool bar atmosphere, but had oddly indulgent food. I had the salmon, and it was AMAZING. I highly recommend it. The dish is pretty complex. It has mashed yukon potatoes at the bottom, oven crisped salmon, and asparagus, and many other goodies, but they all worked together to be amazing. I wish I lived in the area so I could try some other dishes too.
Reason it’s not 5 star: Menu prices were pretty high.

Their balsamic pizza is absolutely delicious and a novelty! They also had good Bloody Mary’s, as well as a decent black bean burger. Definitely want to go back for the pizza though!

Good bar to hang out at, especially during temperate weather. The outdoor patio can comfortably fit around 40 people. Drinks are average priced and the staff is very personable. Everyone in the area recommends this place, so it’s worth checking out for a good time, even on a Tuesday night.

Is it actually possible to get bad BBQ in Kansas City? I ate at several BBQ joints and didn’t really have a bad experience at any of them.
Located in the Country Club Plaza shopping district of downtown KC, Granfallon Bar and Grill is the prototypical sports bar. The interior is stocked with high top tables and dark black wooden accents, and LOTS and LOTS of big screen TVs all showing various sporting events.
This wasn’t my first choice, but I was out-​voted by my work colleagues and overall the meal was pretty good. I opted for the brisket sandwich and it was surprisingly tasty considering it came out of a sports bar kitchen. Thick yet tender slices of smoked beef where piled high on toasted bread. A very simple sauce was all that was needed to complete the sandwich.
I’m glad I don’t actually live in KC, because I’m sure I’d put on too much weight supporting my BBQ addiction.

I think this is another great option for happy hour. Any place with outdoor seating gets a thumbs up in my book.
HH is until 7pm; $ 2.50 wells, $ 4 house wine, not sure of beer and appetizers run between $ 5-​$ 6.
