As a regular member of First Presbyterian I write this constructive review in hopes that the staff will heed my words and consider improvement in hopes for Honeys long term future success. Unfortunately there was only a few items on the buffet that passed muster, the sliced fruit and scrambled eggs. Upstairs the menu advertises dollar pancake and hash browns, when in fact the pancakes where regular sized and the potatoes where country style but missing the onions, bell peppers and warmth. The bacon was extremely greasy, limp and soft, not one crispy bacon to be found. Eggs Benedict muffin was not toasted and very under cooked, I feel they used the wrong kind of ham and the taste of the holidays sauce was way off, very flour flavored, it kinda taste like eating soggy under cooked dough. My advice is to have a focus group, feed them breakfast, then follow up with a round table review of the meal, the service and the restaurant, repeat again 45 days later. Let’s get Honeys to a 5 star rating

Our running group had breakfast here today and found that the service was quite slow, granted there were about 40 of us. However, our coach made arrangements in advance so the restaurant should’ve had more ppl on staff. After sitting at our table for about 45 mins, we finally were able to place our orders. «Yippee!» I thought, gonna get some chow shortly. Our 2-hr romp in 99% humidity surely put us in a position to be a bit hungry, after all. The minutes ticked away for what seemed another 45 mins. Oh wait! It WAS another 45 mins!!! Food was ok, but my corned beef hash looked like it came out of a box. Literally! It was rectangular in shape, and a dark brownish-red. Yikes. Fried rice for additional $ 1.95 was meh. My friends were mildly satisfied to pleased with their selections. The fried rice omelette got some decent raves. One friend who ordered her omelette without cheese, well, got cheese. Our server and a man who appeared to be the restaurant manager were pleasant and trying their best to bring out the food as quickly as they could. Rude waitress snapped to my friends, who were seated at another table, «We need this table, it’s very busy» after SHE and the kitchen took so long to serve them! I think under normal circumstances this is a nice place to have breakfast or some bites after a long, hard round of golf. We just didn’t get to experience that during our visit :(.

We went for breakfast and we should have left when we saw the empty place. Pancakes were ok, but there was one waitress and we waited… a lot, and then we waited some more. And it was just us and one other person there. Granted, it’s in a beautiful and tranquil spot, but for nearly an hour for a 2 person less than average breakfast we should have eaten somewhere else.

Honey’s is located on the lower level of the Ko’olau Ballrooms overlooking the driving range. Their lunch menu has a range of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and an assortment of random entrees like fish and chips, ramen, and curry tonkatsu. The food here is hit or miss. The turkey wrap was dry, my friend commented a grocery store bought wrap would be better. The fish in the fish and chips was flavorless, the batter was light and crispy, but it was bland. The fries were soggy and I don’t prefer sweet(pineapple) coleslaw. When you go, order the Tuna Salad Sandwich, olives and bell pepper make this sandwich pop. The Fish Sandwich is also good, the fish is moist and flavored with lemon and tartar sauce. Upgrade to a soups with your sandwich, I’ve had the Portuguese Bean and the Chicken Watercress, both are full of yummy ingredients, and are better than the other sides. The air feels different on the windward side, it’s cooler and fresher. If you check out Honey’s, ask to sit outside in one of their patio tables, have a drink, and relax.

A real find! This long standing local restaurant offers up stunning views right up against the Koolau mountains! Great local food, good portions and at an amazing price! It’s become one of my families«Go Too» places on the Windward side! A little hard to find at first but well worth the effort! Try the teriyaki Steak plate… TODIEFOR!!!

Definitely there on the best night where you could see living legend Led Kaapana playing. As an added bonus he called up a family of talented young musicians and Danny Abreu. The pupus were tasty and the service was ok. Very family style atmosphere.

Don’t go here!!! Horrible service and even worse servers. And if you’re a haole, forget being treated with respect. There are plenty of other good restaurants on island without paying to support this one. And the manager, Angie, was absolutely awful when I spoke to her. Word of advice: go at your own risk!

Honey’s Koolau Restaurant is now one of our favorite restaurants in Kaneohe. We have noticed, when looking for a good restaurant in Kaneohe, the choices are so limited. I am so glad, however, to say that Honey’s has proven to be a 5-star! The crab cakes was excellent, best that I’ve tasted, as well as their sweet potatoe fries. Such generous portions! Make sure that you go there hungry because you’ll leave very satisfied. What also completed this excellent dining experience were the manager, Angie and our server, Judy. They were very attentive to our needs. I can see how its a plus for the golfers to enjoy a nice leisurely and serene atmosphere after a game of golf;; not to mention delicious food along with a cold beverage. So relaxing! Thank you Angie and Judy for our wonderful dining experience! We look forward to revisiting Honey’s!

Honeys restaurant is a hidden jewel of a place. It is out of plain sight with a view that’s beautiful and located at the club house at the Koolau ranch golf course. The food is good and priced reasonably. When I got there I expected to pay a pretty penny but was pleasantly surprised by the prices. The portions are generous and the food is good. Would love to visit Honeys again.

This place is a hoity toity outdated dust bunny ridden country club. Donna Maui was very rude to a young lady on our tour! She didn’t take orders down right and got mad when we called her out on it! Dust bunnies on the ceiling??? Ewww! I can’t even imagine what that kitchen is like! Wallpaper is peeling!!! People just didn’t give my husband and I or our group a very welcoming feeling. Sad…, that’s the one thing I sold my husband on. Good luck with those club membership fees!!! So if you feel like looking at a bunch of dust hanging from the ceiling. Please enjoy! Disgusting bland rotten avocados, limp pickles that come with your burger! I can’t believe this place sold for 12 million dollars!!!

As part of the tour, we stopped here for lunch. With the long morning we had, we were glad for it! After circling around the venue, our driver stopped the shuttle at the pathway leading to the restaurant. We couldn’t find the entrance because the sliding doors were closed but luckily another customer saw and opened the doors for us. Depending on how large our entire party was, tables were reserved. Since most tables were four to a table I sat with a couple(from Italy). Yes a bit awkward but lunch went smoothly. On the walls are framed pictures of celebrities. Lighting wasn’t so good. Maybe for the atmosphere? It being at a fancy looking place I thought the items on the menu and price would be a lot. Reasonable I’d say. I got a burger with fries( ) Cost $ 1 for some Swiss cheese but that’s what I prefer. It filled me up the rest of the tour. Bathroom was outside of the restaurant and down a hallway. Yes it looks creepy if you’re by yourself. When the check came, the tip was already included. For this, I ain’t complaining. It filled me up for the rest of the day!(I was ready for a nap.) Other things: Outdoor seating — limited A television screen but it’s on the sports channel: P Take-out

Unfortunately for them, they are not very busy, but the food is very good. They start serving lunch at 1045. They have live local music on Friday and Sunday night. They normally close early on all other days, but are open later for music nights. They have the koi fish pond and will let you feed the fish which is fun if you have kids.

You have seen the Honey’s location and didn’t know it. This restaurant is in the clubhouse of Koolau Golf Club on at the bottom of Pali Lookout. You are at the base of the Koolau mountains. Very serene. The vegetation here is very green of course as it rains a lot. If you go before it gets dark you can take some nice pictures. The Koi pond is right outside. To get there you exit Kam Highway on the left one street north of H3. Go left on Kahiko Street and follow the road through the magnificent tree tunnel. The drive is a treat all by itself. We went on a Friday night for the live Hawaiian music(6 to 9). I thing they are the Koolau Crooners. There is some audience participation, if you want to do that. Everyone was friendly with their old time Aloha(just as another Unilocaler stated). It felt like going back in time. Our drink and food order was taken in a timely manner, and the drinks came right away. The hat lady table was filled. Some of them are pretty good musicians too, as we found out. Had the Honey’s Pupu Platter($ 20.99) and onion rings(about $ 6). The platter had some nice steak pieces, some really nice sautéed mushrooms and some shrimp tempura. The restrooms in the golf clubhouse are granite and immaculate — a nice change from the back alley trip to hell that you get at many restaurants. No parking nightmare either. Forgot to ask them about their Sunday brunch. There is a different band on Sundays.

This is a great Restaurant attached to a golf course. Usually i stop in for a quick coffee and breakfast before heading out to loose all my golf balls on the course. At least my day starts off with a good meal and coffee before cursing my head off playing golf. It has a nice relaxing atmosphere with great views of the course and Koolau’s unless the nature tour buses park in front of the window blocking your view while the tourist raid the snack bar. If i lived on the windward side i would probably come here for breakfast more often its really a nice relaxing place to have a meal.

If you miss listening to Hawaiian music in an atmosphere of old-time aloha, go to this restaurant on Friday or Sunday night. Honey’s is not usually open for dinner, but they are on these nights. My partner and I went here for our anniversary because we wanted to save money(and gas), and it was really close to home. What a pleasant surprise to be greeted by the owner/manager so warmly! Our drink and food orders were taken in a timely manner, and the drinks came right away. While we waited for our food, a group of older women with funky hats sat on the table to the left of us. They had lei for the owner/manager and the wait help! They also had brought their own dessert, which they devoured as their first course. Apparently, they too believe, «Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first!» My clam chowder came and was not something I’d order again. It tasted like someone opened a can of Cream of Mushroom soup, dumped some minced clams in it and then served it up. My partner’s salad was a lot better – fresh and tasty. Then, my club sandwich and his side orders of steak and onions and rice arrived. My sandwich was perfect – slices of turkey, bacon and avocado layered so generously that I had trouble getting it in my mouth. My partner liked his steak and onions, but he was shocked at the size of his scoop of rice.(He’s not local and this place is!) Consequently, he began stealing my french fries, which he declared, «Now these are the way fries are supposed to be!» I pretended I minded, but I didn’t really – there were plenty enough on my platter. As we ate our dinner, the Hawaiian music began. I enjoyed it, but of course, my partner was wishing for sub-titles. ;) Also, three tables of golfers trickled in, and I was amazed at the way this restaurant handled such different customers so well. Apparently, they’re regulars, so their appetizers were on their tables before most of them had sat down – in true local fashion from days of old. It doesn’t hurt that the walls are covered with pictures of Loyal Gardner, Melveen Leed, Carole Kai, Don Ho, etc. We ordered the brownie treat for dessert. The brownie was awesome, but the vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate syrup were very everyday – probably from Foodland. Because I made the mistake of looking at the very reasonable bill, I got only two bites of brownie. My(piggy) partner ate the rest and had the audacity to insist three crumbs were«one last piece» for me! After dinner, we left to walk off our meal. The grounds are beautiful; we took a lot of pictures! If I had been with my family or friends who were born and raised here, I would’ve suggested we return to listen to the music, have another drink and happily wallow in a place where we can easily pretend it’s 20, 30 or even 40 years ago. I’m going back with my 75-year-old father, and I’m going to suggest that we take an aunt who’s in her 90s. I know they’ll BOTHLOVE it!

Honey’s at Ko’olau is a nice comfortable, versatile, pleasant place to have a meal. I say versatile because it works for just about everything. It is a great place to grab a burger and a beer while you and your golfing buddies count up how many balls you just lost during your round. It works for a family breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can have a romantic meal by the koi pond with the Ko’olau Mountains as a back drop. I could even see it as a good place to take a visiting client for a business lunch. Talk about versatile; my company hosted their Christmas party at Honey’s at Ko’olau this past December. Every time I’ve dined there for whatever reason, I’ve found it to be a pleasant relaxing experience. The food is pretty good but there’s nothing unique or special about it. The price is toward higher end of the scale for a casual dining experience. Even so, I’ve always left feeling good about having just eaten at Honey’s at Ko’olau.

Fantastic place to grab a leisurely lunch in Kaneohe(great view sitting next to the Koi ponds) or to pick up a bite to eat(to go if you want) before you play golf at Koolau Golf Club. I eat at Honey’s a few times a month and enjoy it very much. The service can slow down a bit when large parties come in but the food is good, the prices are set at an appropriate level, and the atmosphere is most enjoyable! The drive in is gorgeous, parking is easy, and nothing beats the food and beer after a long day on the links!

I went to Honeys while touring Oahu with my wife. We made a pit stop there and had some pretty good food. I think I had more fun feeding the Koi fish and hundreds of Talapia fish. Honey’s is named after Honey Ho, a kupuna from Kaneohe whose popular ambiance and cuisine has delighted locals, tourists and military personnel for over 39 years. It was also the birthplace of the phenomenal entertainment career of Honey’s son, the legendary Don Ho. Honey’s features: — Continental and Pacific-Asian Cuisine — A warm and friendly Hawaiian Atmosphere — Sunday Brunch — Live Entertainment on Friday and Sunday Nights Honey’s at Ko’olau is home to its signature Ko’olau Clubhouse sandwich, and its famous Special Ramen Noodles among other specialties prepared by our expertly trained chefs. The perfect spot for business or pleasure, guests can relax after a round of golf with friends or host a business meeting or special gathering.
