The curry shrimp. I mean. This is one flavorful dish! It is finger licking good!!! Definitely a hole in the wall around back from a convenience store and gas station but definitely a good spot to grab a quick bite. Took mine to go and ate back at the hotel.

I don’t write reviews often, but this was hands down the best Indian chicken curry I’ve ever had, and the roti was delicious too! Didn’t expect to find the best chicken curry in Hawaii at a supermarket!

I’ve tried many of their dishes but, love the samosas the best! They have a variety of beans, legumes and sauces for purchase as well as cooked foods. Its family owned and they do a great job at making you feel relaxed. The family spent many years in Fiji before moving to Oahu, this local girl is glad they did because their food reflects the Fijian influence as well as their Indian heritage.

Got the lamb curry based on all the great reviews here. While the actual meat was good, it was outnumbered by bone and fat.

Heard great reviews about this place but never really ate something of my own from here. Decided to come here for lunch with a friend since she lives in Cali and loves curry! We parked and walked in to the store. Saw many products from Asia/pacific Islands. The window in the back of the store is where you order. They will give you the order copy to pay for it at the register in the front of the store. Do t forget to grab your utensils before heading to pay. While heading to the front, pick up a drink and any snacks for the road. They accept cash and credit card. They give a very generous portion with their curry and the roti wraps. If you like vegetarian, ask them what’s in the vegetarian curry as it changes based on the available vegetables. Finally getting to eat here really made the reviews a reality! If you are in the Kahuku area, stop by Fiji Market located a driveway before Giovanni’s Shrimp truck and next to the Kaiser Permanente clinic.

Hidden little shop on the backside of Giovannis. They sell Indian spices, small knicknacks, and drinks but what you come here for is the curry. Specifically, the lamb curry. The lamb meat melts in your mouth. So yum. And the sopping up of the delicious curry and chutney with the roti bread… mmmmhmmm. There is a small area to sit down and eat and bathrooms are relatively clean nearby so it makes for a decent rest stop. Prices are very reasonable –especially compared to the surrounding shrimp trucks. Do yourself a favor, next time around the island, skip the shrimp trucks and plan to stop by the Fiji market. You won’t regret it!

Yea, worth the drive and trying to find it(it’s around the back, on the right side). Everyone else covers the food, but just remember to give the black kitty some nibbles. He will sit there and give you the«evil eye» till you do…

The minute you walk in to this place, you can smell good homestyle Fiji Indian cooking. The lamb and chicken curry are indeed the best, but, don’t forget to roam around the store and take a look at the groceries from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji. Though prices in Hawaii are sometimes outrageous, this place is reasonably priced when compared to mainland Fiji grocery stores.

Best Indian food I’ve had in Hawaii even though it feels disloyal to Taj Mahal to write that. Seriously the chutneys and pickles made it even that much better. Carrot pickles perfect. Veggie samosa spicy and perfect wit mint and tamarind chutney. Roti so flaky and delish. My Indian father in law said this food was really good. I tend to believe him. Portions are big. Shared with the hub chicken curry extra order of roti and two veggie samosas. I’m stuffed. Worth 11 – 12 bucks per plate. Outdoor covered seating so even Oliver the dog could join. The store apparently has lotsa supplies that even India mart in town doesn’t have. From UK apparently.

We had beef curry, lamb curry and mince meat and cheese pie. All were outstanding. My favorite is beef curry, large pieces of beef cooked until fall apart tender and seasoned perfectly. I only gave 5 stars cause I can’t give 6.

This is not the traditional east Indian food, but rather traditional Fiji Indian Food– which was fantastic. We ordered the lamb curry, veggie curry, dhal(their spelling, not mine), and extra roti and brown rice. The lamb was cooked well, fell off the bone, and contained about 7 – 8 pieces. The veggie curry contained green beans, eggplant, potato(changes daily) and was well balanced in terms of spices. The four rather than five stars is due to all the items needing to be a bit more spiced up. Service was super friendly. Serving were crazy large. We were unable to finish between the four of us. Located BEHIND the gas station right before THE famous shrimp truck.

As I mentioned in my tip, the meats here just melt in your mouth – it’s absolutely to die for. What am I talking about? Well, Fiji market is the one place on the island I know where you can get authentic Indian curry from mama’s kitchen only… it’s probably so much better than mama’s kitchen because somehow, whatever method is used to stew the meats, they are so moist it seems to defy physics. See, the meats don’t appear so saturated as to completely have lost form – the chicken or beef, they both appear in normal cubes or cuts and retain their shape but the moment it hits your tongue it’s like they just melt away. Any of their dishes are amazing. I encourage you to try all of them if you have the chance. The roti is always soft but I don’t usually get it because I’m already stuffed from just the plate alone, if I added some roti in the mix I’d have to start unbuttoning buttons and nobody wants that. I personally have never bought any of the dry goods here but this is definitely the place to go for an array of curry powders and indian spices. If only I could cook… Lastly, I recommend getting the lakdhi. It’s on or near the front counter. It’s nothing really special but I LOVE it for some reason. They are little sugary batter crisps that remind me of how snowflake cookies taste – not too sweet, not too floury, has this sort of… won-ton like batter taste. This shop/kitchen gets five stars from me because the food is just amazing, above and beyond what I ever would’ve expected from the back of a little mom n pop store, it’s well worth the price, the portions are great; the lady in the back and the young guy at the counter are always quite nice; there’s always parking nearby; and the whole experience just leaves you wanting to come back for more.

Do it. Doooooooo it. I love this place, so much so that I’ll travel to kahuku from Waianae just to go here. Their curry shop is the best and prefer to come here rather than the overrated shrimp trucks. It’s a little hard to find but it’s right by the kaiser clinic. They shop sells many Indian spices/ingredients like curry powder and lots others. But I usually, like a lot of people, go there for their curry. Just go through the red doors and head straight to the back of the store to the window where a lady will take your order and take the receipt to the front register to pay for it. It’s a little backwards because you could just order from the front register, pay, and take the receipt to the back and done! But hey for their food I don’t mind. Anyway, once you pay you can either stay inside and look around while you wait or go outside and sit down, they will bring you your plates. Super nice. Food 5⁄5 Lols. I believe they have lamb, chicken, shrimp, beef and I can’t remember what else was on the menu but that’s most of it. Besides all you need to know is LAMBCURRY. I get this every time and it’s soooo, the best. The lamb meat is so tender and flavorful and the spices are the best. Good size plate too. I’d eat this over Giovanni’s any day. Arggggh I just went there yesterday but writing this review makes me want more. They also have roti and chutney to add to your plate if you like those things too. Do it. Service 5⁄5 It’s simply a kitchen in the back of the shop so they don’t really«serve» you, but the people there are kind, they smile, make great food, bring your food out to you, so yeah 5. location 1⁄5 … Nah. Lol 5⁄5 I’m just mad they aren’t closer to me but I like where their cute little shop is. Lots of parking away from the hustle and bustle of people driving out to shrimp trucks lol. Overall. Do it. Go here. Try some Indian style curry, it’s awesome.

Very cool shop! Smelled great inside. The curry was pretty good — and wow — you get plenty! Good value for the price. Should’ve ordered some Samosas to go with it.

A hidden gem it is! They’re located right off Kamehameha Highway. If you see THEFAMOUSSHRIMPTRUCK, BANKOFHAWAII, & a gas station… you’re in the right place. This establishment is around the back. When you walk in don’t expect anything fancy. This is like your typical mom and pop store like the old days which carries everything Fijiian/Indian. They have everything from spices to chips to drinks to raw meats, etc… Walk straight to the back towards the window to place your order for their plate lunches. I ordered their chicken curry and it Was so worth it because of the amount of food you get and tastes just like home cooked Fijiian curry. I will definitely be going back for more!

The heat! My corned beef curry was freshly made, hot in temperature and spicy hot. But whatever as I demolished the plate with mouth ablaze. Add in mango or tamarind chutney to change up the flavor profile. So so good. The samosas definitely bring the heat so watch out.

FIJIMARKET: Still loving this place. We go about once or every other week to stock up on Arnott Cookies and Bongo/UFO Chips. They have the freshest and widest selection that we have found on the island. Call ahead to see if they are in stock because they do run out, that is why they are fresh because they are always having to restock. CURRYSHOP: Love the Corned Beef Curry and Lamb Curry plates. We always get one of these when we come here.

Different chutney are a «must try!» I love the mango and tamarind chutnies, but the carrot and mint chutnies are good too. All chutnies complement the delicious curries sold at Fiji Market!

Indo Fijian curries with love ~and heat! I noticed Fiji market few years back when they first opened. Its a grocery store with a little kitchen in the back where this super cool Fijian lady bust out curries like miyagi bust out his moves. They have everything from Fiji. Kava maker? Kava pounder? Those fijian chips. Tin Mutton? Cassava? Cassava chips? And best of all, the curries. Menu:(Has been the same for as long as I remember) Chicken curry Corned beef Lamb curry(More like mutton, boned in) And shrimp curry. You can be brave and ask to make them Fiji spicy! And she will. As hot as the Fijian weather. First bite will transport you back to that heat in down town Nadi at noon! Ya, nowhere to hide from that sun. Ya walk, ya run but ya will get burn. In a good way of course :) Damn it. I miss Fiji! Got to spend a great summer in Fiji and yes, I’m in love. I love everything about Fiji and their indo/chinese/Fijian cuisines. It’s also quite hard to find a Fijian restaurants anywhere unless you know some Fijians and get invited for food. Yey to friends: D Ok back to food. Both owners are so nice. They get excited every time you ask for Fijian spice. Chicken curry is always consistent. I love it. Corned beef has been a little up and down. I think its mainly because of the corned beef itself. You have to get the saltiness out somehow. Lamb is good too but I prefer it a little less fatty. Get your take out–(slow food here for good reason), get the garnishes from their little place. They have various types of chutnies and that pickle carrots thing. Every fijian house gave us those on the side of our plates when we were in Fiji. YUmmm. Get some Kava(if you dare! Taste like strong watery poi with a numbing effect), get some New Zealand meat pies and eat it right outside their patio. Or if it’s too windy, take it to the beach. It’s a good break from eating all them shrimps and lunch plates up here.
