Had them cater my wedding last weekend. People RAVED about the food and how Ono it was. My friends and family are going to stop by this little Ohana owned restaurant everytime were on that side of the island! Mahalo Pakeles for delivering for FREE and letting us borrow your warmers!

Had the pulled pork, mac salad, rice. Very tasty, good flavor. Visiting here, one of the best places I’ve tried to far for hawaiian food.

Cute little place. You can feel the Ohana vibe. The décor is a little dated, but kept simple. They have upbeat Hawaiian music playing for your enjoyment. And the food is quite tasty. Id be back.

I have eaten here a few times now and love their Fried Chicken Plate which is only $ 5.00. For only $ 5 you are getting, two juicy, crispy pieces of Fried Chicken, 2 scoops rice and a choice of lomi salmon or salad. Not bad at all. The staff is friendly and helpful. Just be mindful that sometimes, if you get there soon after they open, not all menu items will be available. I will definitely be going back again while in the area!

Nice little place. The lady behind the counter was awesome. We weren’t familiar with the foods and she offered us samples and explained what everything was. The bread pudding is phenomenal!

Stumbled across this gem while working. Lau lau was great, beef stew was great, bread pudding amazing. The staff was nice and treated us to some fresh catch side order of fish which had a sweet sauce and literally fell off the bone. I will definitely be back!

This is a great no frills lunch plate and Hawaiian restaurant. I had the BBQ chicken and their pork lau Lau. Friendly family. If you’re not in a rush definitely check it out. Good size portions and reasonable prices as well. People stink on the mac salad being made out of spaghetti. Dunno why since macaroni is the same ingredients and still it tastes great!

Well… there’s not a lot of choices around here. SUPERBRIGHT lights, family run relaxed atmosphere I think the #1 item here would be the Kualua pulled pork.(4stars) Huge portions The«Healthy Garlic salmon» is frozen salmon smothered in oily garlic(healthy???) and«steamed» frozen veggies and fat white rice! I guess to the locals, since it’s NOT Deep Fried, it must be «healthy!» Support a local family run business, and lower your expectations !!! Then the local Hawaiian Regge music came on… Sweet Brah! Near the end of our meal, the Patriarch offered us some samples of –Teri-Beef-very flavorful! –Green lua? With squid =spinach-looks gross tastes good –Poi– purple glue like pudding paste add to other items like the salmon salad, very unusual for non-locals –Banana bread-sticky and gooey and sweet and obviously freshly homemade! Very sweet! Very cool !

This restaurant appears to be a family-run hole-in-the-wall place. The place is no-frills, and their food is both authentic and delicious. The portions are also very generous. However, the reason I’m giving three stars instead of four is due to how long it took to receive my order. I waited for a good 30 minutes… everyone who was behind me on the line had already finished and left, and I was still sitting there waiting for my lunch! Don’t go if you happen to be in a rush. Otherwise, great food at a great price.

If you are in a rush, this is NOT the place for you. I went at my lunch hour(busy time of day). The food prep/cashier servicing 2 in front of me with multiple orders &4 waiting behind me. The 2 dish washers decided the dirty dishes were more important than our wait time. 25 minutes later i was finally out the door. Customer service is NOT their top priority so not worth the $ 5 plate lunch since I had no time left to eat it.

Stopped here for lunch before hiking Pu’u Ma’eli’eli. Had the $ 5 plate lunch with kahlua turkey. Yes, turkey. It was fantastic! A huge meal that was more than enough for my wife and I – along with leftovers for lunch later. A fantastic find. When/if we do the hike again, this will be our lunch stop for sure.

Didn’t care for it much. Mac salad was really spaghetti. Felt like we were charged more for being a tourist. Big $ 5 plate sign outside… But if your not«local»… «they ran out of the $ 5 plate»… Whatever… Service was not even nice.

Oh my Gosh! This is by far the best Hawaiian food place I have ate on this island! It’s a must to try. Normally if I eat Hawaiian food at least one item is ok. But everything on my plate was Ono! Lots of flavor! I will definitely return here. It’s family owned and pleasant environment.

The two young ladies at the counter greeted us with smiles and wonderful customer service. The food was amazing. We had the Kalua Pig, Lau Lau, and hamburger steak plates. All of it was delicious!!! For dessert, we had a large coke float and their homemade bread pudding with Mac nut sauce. The perfect ending to a perfect meal. Next time I plan on tasting the squid luau and the Haupia. This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Temple Valley. We will DEFINITELY be coming back.

Traditional Hawaiian style food made by a Hawaiian family. The line always long, because the food always good. No matter what you order from the menu, buggah is broke da mouth!!! Everybody in Kaneohe knows that this place is a must go, so now the rest of the world needs to know as well. One of the few places with $ 5 plate lunch, that’s so Ono it makes you say… Chee Pono! Check them out when you over the Ko’olaus.

If I could, I’d give it 3.5 stars. The workers could be a little more friendly, but they were kids so… The lau lau was very good! There was a lot of meat. However, the lomi lomi salmon had A LOT of bite. It was so sour that I couldn’t finish the rest. We also ordered a side of chicken long rice on top of our 3 plates. They charged us, but didn’t give it to us… by the time we realized, it was too late. They just probably forgot, but still. For some reason, they decided to close at 8pm tonight instead of 9pm as listed on Unilocal.I like their lau lau no doubt, but I’d have to think about it if I would want to come back or not.

Overall impression: Avg price: $ 9. $ 5 plate lunch specials! Positives: –extremely nice staff –they are flexible with your orders. They can make stuff or add or substitute if you want –cheap! Great value! –clean –free parking and lots of it –good food! Negatives: –none so far Came here after seeing it on Unilocal.Didn’t have very high expectations. Saw a sign saying $ 5 plate lunch! I expected a tiny little styrofoam box with enough food for half a meal. Totally wrong. Their special for $ 5 that day was fried chicken. It was delicious, tasted just like zippys and for half the price. They gave 2 pieces of chicken and I was able to get brown rice instead of white. The Mac salad was made of long spaghetti noodles rather than macaroni, so I was happy because I like the noodles a lot better for some reason. There wasn’t anything on the menu that my fiancée was particularly interested in, so the manager/owner said he could do a fried ahi poke with a side of poi for $ 10. This was also delicious and we were both very happy about it. They also have Hawaiian food for very reasonable prices. The customer service is superb and they were very nice to us. I will definitely be back here to try the squid luau and sweet potato salad!

Their Mac salad was made with spaghetti noodles! It was surprisingly good & different from typical Mac salad. I ordered the beef teriyaki plate. It was good… but I think I prefer the pork teriyaki that my husband ordered. It reminded me of filipino pork tocino. Mmm

During«small kid time», we had an imu in our back yard. Dad got real lava rocks, kiawe wood, banana stump, ti leaves, and wet burlap bags for the kalua pig. He would do fund raisers for our school and church. Nothing can compare to dad’s kalua pig, but Pakele’s sure comes close. The Windward residents don’t have to drive to town; parking is free and plentiful; service is quick and friendly; the place is bright & clean; and the food is tasty!
