Ed’s shop is the kind of shop that every neighborhood wishes they had. An ecclectic mix of vintage clothes, accessories, decorative items, household goods, quite a selection of hard to find items such as cuff links, scarves, interesting knick knacks, art, furniture, utensils, glassware… at VERY reasonable prices. Ed, Meredith and Karina are super people and have been welcoming and firendly to me since the day I first walked in the shop. They are an incredible resource for neighborhood information and are genuinely nice people and great neighbors. I am a client for life… don’t miss this shop if you are in Jersey City!

I live within blocks of Ed’s and the trick here is to have an immersion. In ten minutes you can find affordable handweaved baskets, Gautier sweaters, old leather belts, pleated shirts, and Calvin Klein summer dresses. I say these specifically because these purchases nascent been made with supreme gratification at this store. Ed himself has an attuned and accessible sense of style. He’s always willing to talk with you about accessories, fit, and possibilities. Between my kind friend who’s an editor at a prominent design magazine, my own peculiarly dapper sense of self, and my girlfriend, who dresses with old lady patterns without hesitation, this spot gifts us with unique finds. What’s more appealing is that it’s a person of color owned business that tries to collaborate with local vendors, artisans, mom & pop stores through our Jersey City. Ed and his artisans make sure to know your name, get a sense of your style whether with interior design or clothing. The outfit is a friendly and versatile fixture in a neighborhood that is facing gentrification. If you’re looking for upright and intentional service, a rare find in clothing, and small business intuition, Ed’s Exchange is a lovely place for a purchase. My neighborhood and my wardrobe are thankful for it.

When I saw their ad on Craigslist saying«Tons MUSTGO» and the long list of items they supposedly had, I was expecting a good trip. However, I was dissapointed. This is basically one of those shared houses where it’s only half as wide as a regular urban house. It’s four tiny rooms, two on each of the two floors(with one«vendor» on each floor), plus stuff that they’ve put outside on the steps and in the tiny yard. I looked through the whole place in under 10 minutes and didn’t find anything worth a second glance. Not going to bother going here again.
