Sybils catered for me last weekend for a going away party! It was a seamless process, food was amazing and they gave great quantity for each platter(my guests devoured the food pretty quickly but it was worth it). The cheese rolls and jerk chicken are to die for! They have great variety for both hot food and deserts. Thank you Sybils! You’re awesome. I’ll be back soon :)

Sybil’s has THEBESTWESTINDIANFOOD but I wanted to come on Unilocal to talk about how much they Sybil’s really saved me for Christmas! Thank God for them. My family was unable to cook dinner this year due to an very unfortunate situation. Thankfully Sybil’s was open. We placed a big order for our whole family and they were able to complete it. I was surprised because it was so last minute. I shouldn’t have doubted them for a second! Every time I go to Sybil’s the staff is always friendly and professional. The food is always fresh and the pastries just melt in your mouth. I was extremely impressed at how much they helped me out on Christmas… that I had to come and spread the holiday spirit on Unilocal. I would definitely recommend them!!! Make sure you try the Cheese rolls!!!

Went two separate times and both times the staff was rude. But the point is to go for the food right? The dhal puri was stiff as hell. The curry and stew chicken were mainly bones. The only good things were the chicken patties and pholourie w/tamarind.

Best West Indian food in town! The staff is friendly and the food is always fresh! They cater large events and bake the tastiest cakes and pastries. You can call your order in ahead of time and they always have it hot and ready for in a timely manner!

DONOTCOMEHERE! SERVICESTINKS! I’ve been to this Sybil’s and about 5 times and the staff is just so unpleasant. The food isn’t that good. You might find a few good dishes amongst many bad ones. Most of the pastries are dry like the staff. Do yourself a favor and go to the other Sybil’s location on Liberty Avenue, the service and food is much better.

Heavenly pulorie n potato balls. The tamarind and the hot sauce gave tasted the same for all these years. Unilocal should allow 7 stars for a place as good as this. Busy. Always. Efficient always. Polite always. And every dave at the counter has smiles. May your riches increase !!! Lots of good wishes to all those that make this a great place. I wish I was walking distance from it but I’m over one hour and half away !!! But I go at every opportunity and you should too !!!

This is exactly why I hate when things get famous and change. I used to really like Sybil’s when they one store. It was still good when they opened a second location but that’s all changed now. I went there a few days ago and got Guyanese patties(chicken and beef) and bake. I threw them all out before I could throw up. My god, it’s disgusting now. Everything tastes like it rolled out of a conveyer belt with cheap ingredients. Like the holocaust, never again!!!

This is a great bakery for Jamaican and Guyanese patties and pastries. They also have buffet food as well. Everything was excellent.

I’ve been coming to this Sybil since I was a kid and it’s alright. It’s pretty refreshing to know that you have a Caribbean/West Indian bakery which means you can your cheese roll, guyanese beef patty, pine tart etc. without having to go all the way to liberty. The staff is usually always nice and the service is pretty quick, most pastries are decent but the food quality is just meh, especially with the actual entrees or dinner options… It just lacks taste at times. At this location in particular it’s always just a hit and miss. I dislike that they always seem to be out of custard or what you really seem to want sometimes. Guess everyone wants the same thing eh? Sybil’s in general tend to tank up their prices for no apparent reason. Maybe there is fairy dust in my pine tart that I don’t know of? Hmm… But I’d much rather go to Sybil’s in liberty but I like the connivence of this one. Overall, it’s just alright. If you’re in the neighborhood and can’t travel to liberty its worth a stop by but you taste at your own risk.

The food is decent, but my biggest pet peeve is with the prices. It seems as if they make up a price as they go along. That I don’t understand. I actually hardly ever come here now. The food isn’t always hot,(even though there’s the waster with the heat under the trays). There’s another west indian restaurant one block away, but I won’t mention the name on this review. However THERE food is ALWAYS hot & taste better in my opinion. I think Sybil’s is really just riding off of the name.

I’m surprised that the rating is low, I think they have amazing food. I’m from Guyana and I think the food is good and reminds me of home. The cheese rolls and pine tarts are flaky, sweet and savory. Their dal puri was good(I’ve had better in Brooklyn at a place called Linda’s), I had it with vegetarian curry. Also, their doubles(even though it’s a Trini dish) is mouth watering. The prices are cheap and the serving size is worth it. All Caribbean’s think that their country has the best food; Jamaicans love their Jamaican restaurants & food, Haitians love their Haitian restaurants and food, well this guyanese girl loves her guyanese restaurants and food! This Sybils is worth it!

Coconut bread and oxtail Roti pretty good. The prices are a bit high IMO. Dining area could use an upgrade for the prices they charge.

Veggie parties and peanut punch! Potato balls! Yummy! Mauby juice! This place has mostly meat options, but they have excellent vegetarian ones too! It’s improved over the years too, I used to go there before the century changed.

Guyanese Cuisine… I’ve been coming to this place since the 80’s. They always have a lot of customers. Place was always busy… Surprised to be the first one to review it… They use to cook some mouth watering dishes that I thoroughly enjoy with gusto… Their food has a lot similarities to that of the caribbean… Their mainstays which were different kind of Curries, Roties, Channa, Doubles, Chow Mien, Cook-up… mixture of different culture that includes East Indian, Trinidad, Tobago, Chinese.Portugese.Amerindian…Their various pastries, pine tart, black cake, cassava pone, salara rolls & breads … . Yesterday, we passed by the place to visit an ailing relative… on our way home we decided to have dinner. We had Goat Curry, Oxtail Stew, Roti and Sauteed Okra. Food was delicious as usual but the portions are now smaller and a lot more expensive. . The place sure changed a lot. They have branches now… The atmosphere… more homey and the décor.lively and the crowd… there’s a big crowd for food to go… The crowd doubled… This time we have to be in line… The doubles are a big hit… Its one of my family’s favorite snack… It is made of 2 flat breads called«bara» filled with curried chick peas called«chana» topped with spicy chutney and hot peppers… Hmmmmm…
