Sneaker’s Bar & Grill

This former 17,000 square foot sports bar and grill is now shuttered and is no longer open.

Place was dirty, bathroom was filthy, and they closed the kitchen and half the restaurant early. Rude employees. Don’t bother with this dump.

I’ve never heard of this place but it was within walking distance of my hotel. I checked it out for some Monday night football viewing.
First thing I noticed was they have lots of TVs. Almost an overwhelming number of tvs. There are a few huge projector screens and some old tube style tvs surrounding the perimeter. There are smaller flat screens over the bar.
While I didn’t miss piece of action on TV the food was definitely a let down. The atmosphere there was also a bit disappointing. Overall it’s your typical sports bar type food.
The best way I can describe it is a restaurant that’s a step or two below the typical Buffalo Wild Wings.

The loaded fries were pretty good. Great atmosphere, a football fans heaven on earth, with the huge screens :-)

Great place to watch a game! Food was good and service was great! They do need to update the TVs outside, but other than that a pretty good time.

Sneakers is a place where you visit ever so often just because of giant tv’s. The food is so so. I ordered the half rack of ribs with broccoli and cheese, also the mixed veggies. The broccoli may have fresh but the mixes veggies was defiantly frozen at one point. We also got a bucket of beer (5 bottles) for 12.99. My friends got the hot wings (which was good) and a burger with rice. She enjoyed the burger and rice.

Made us wait over 20 minutes in a line when there was an entire section open with tables. HIGHLY unorganized management during World Cup! At least put someone in the front to greet people and explain that there’s a wait. Total unorganized chaos! The food is overpriced and terrible. Very disappointing during an event that comes around once every 4 years. Then again, can’t have high expectations from a place like this. A Friend recommended it because they live close by, but it was our 3^rd time here during World Cup… Should’ve learned our lesson the first 2 times!

Always a great place to watch your favorite sports. If I ever have a problem which is rare they always go above and beyond to make sure that we are satisfied.
I’ll definitely recommend Sneakers to my friends but hey, they’re already joining me… where are you?

Do you like bad service? Surly bar tenders? Entrée salads that are smaller than most side salads but still cost $ 10?
Than this is the place for you!
The restaurant is the size of a wear house, but completely understaffed when the place is full for a football or World Cup game.
Food took over an hour to come out.

I will definitely tell you this if you are in the mood to watch the UFC come in and check it out the food I will say is typical bar food chicken wing chicken sandwiches nachos it’s not the best food or anything unique about it but it does the job when you’re watching sports there beer is good I always get Newcastle Brown Ale and that around six bucks so with that being said guys if you’re in the mood for chicken wings go in on a Monday for all you can eat chicken wings but the first time I ever had chicken wings there they were kind of dry but I will say this I have had a good batch of chicken wings so its a hit or miss

2 or 3 stars is about right. I found it clean, lots of TVs and food decent. Service was terrible; real understaffed the night I was here. They must not share tips. Bartenders ignore anyone NOT their customer. I would come here only to watch the game.

The server we had tonight was great especially considering there was a ufc match on, but the food and actually getting seated left something to be desired. It took a few minutes before anyone even acknowledged our party to get seated which normally signals a busy night but it was very empty. The western burger I ordered ended up going back once cause it looked like it was missing the bacon, only to be brought back to me saying the bacon was under the cheese and finding it was very overcooked being more well done and burnt instead of medium. I probably won’t be making it back out here again for awhile.

It’s pretty much your average sports bar, but is surrounded by ginormous screens so it’s ideal for any type of sporting event.

This place is great, I just wish it was in a better location. There’s always a drink or food special and it’s right next to a hotel, so you can always find someone there from out of town, or if you’re staying at the hotel, it’s a great place to get drunk and reflect on the poor life decisions you made that put you in a bar on a weeknight on the skirts of Jacksonville drinking cheap beer and eating all you can eat chicken wings when you have to be up at 5am to get in your rental car and drive to a stranger’s office and sell them something.

This place just screams «I’M AVERAGE AND I’M OK WITH IT!» from the moment you walk in.
The walls are adorned with all sorts of haphazardly placed sports memorabilia all culminating to an orange dirt bike above the bar. I guess it makes sense because it’s a sports bar, with TV’s literally everywhere. Chances are you’re probably not coming here for the food. Not to say the food is bad, it’s just so-​so. The wings are OK. From what I witnessed the burgers were OK. The drinks were expensive, which was kind of surprising given the atmosphere.
The one good thing about Sneakers is the two HUGE projectors on both sides on the restaurant. If you’re ok with overpaying for drinks it’s a great spot to come watch a couple football games. Really, it’s the best place for watching any of the UFC fights, which run you $ 60 to watch at home anyways.
The problem with Sneaker’s in my opinion can be found on the menu. It’s all over the place. What sport’s bar offers prime rib? I just have a hard time believing anyone orders it enough for them to prepare one everyday. There’s other glaring examples that elude my mind right now, but five minutes of going over it will have you racking your brain as well.
Maybe with a little more polishing Sneaker’s could be a great sports bar instead of just another Ale House clone. Until then, ³⁄₅.

Called to book our end of the year Fantasy Football Party for 25 plus people. For Sunday 4pm. Was told they didnt want to do a reservation for that day as it was a NFL playoff Weekend!!! I said so let me get this right, you dont wanna confirm a resv. for a group that will eat and drink 0ver $ 450 worth of food and drink because its a playoff weekend… POOR GENERAL MANAGING!!! THe Manager wanted to but couldnt overide the GM… You lost a great group of Customers for your stupid thinking!!!

After a long day of travel from Washington D.C. to Jacksonville, my wife and I wanted to get a quick bite to eat. We found out about Sneakers in the hotel info packet in our room.
We came here and were greeted by our server in a friendly manner. Our server helped us understand the menu and gave us suggestions on what to get.
I had wings with spicy garlic sauce which were to die for. My wife had a quesadilla which was awesome.
I would recommend this place to anyone that likes the sports bar

Visited this location 02 July 2013. Atmosphere was different than I expected. Huge place, great TVs for whatever sports game that you desire. The food here was just horrible. Hard to imagine that wings would be an issue. It was very slow when I was here. The wait staff was friendly and the gentleman that took my order was friendly. Sadly, it felt dirty to me. The rugs were horrible. I had to switch to a bottled beer because my draft tasted as though the keg was tapped a week ago. I don’t know. I was excited visiting here because it is a huge sports bar on the beach but I was let down.

Waitresses, Management Staff were awesome for the Jacksonville Carolina Club! Go HEELS!
Unfortunately the food all tastes Frozen not fresh. It is Like watching Sports in a Warehouse. The Ambiance of a Prison with the waitresses in Stripes… LOL…To be honest as far as Sports Bars go this is on par with all the others in town. There really aren’t any decent ones in town.

Good beer selection, adequate food, lots of TV screens.
You come here to eat, drink, watch sports, and visit with friends. The facility adds nothing to the experience. The food is undistinguishable. There’s no reason to avoid Sneaker’s, nor any special reason to go.
