Bistro de Paris is a gem, and it fairly quickly became our go-to restaurant in Jacksonville. The quality of the food, the wine list, the retail wine shop, the service, and the amazing array of desserts set this place apart. Can’t think of an occasion where JJ’s wouldn’t work perfectly.

Cute clean little place with excellent pastry options. The éclair was excellent and the espresso delicious. FYI No wifi so you can’t sit at the little bar and drink your espresso while on your iPad or laptop. It’s purely enjoy your food and drink!

The chefs here are phenomenal! Everything is homemade and tastes amazing. The specials are always changing and are usually my favorite thing to order. The butters are homemade by the pastry chef and there are different flavors such as pear butter or honey tarragon garlic butter, etc. The servers here are genuinely nice and provide a great experience. The atmosphere of the bistro is also very lovely and provides an overall fun dining experience. Great place, one of my favorites.

Really good French restaurant. I got the French dip and its was perfect. Before the main course they gave us a baguette with olive/garlic butter that was amazing.

We happened to stop into this place today on our way to the store. It is a bit hidden and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Great food and the service was good. The owner stopped by and talked to us. After having the brunch quiche and crêpe, my husband and I were too full for dessert… But the owner tells me their pastry chef makes it all in house. I expect to take a dessert and coffee run one of these days soon.

Excellent– all food is authentic and made from scratch. Owner is French and ensures authenticity. They have their own pastry chef as well who makes every part from scratch. A rare find for Jacksonville. Ambiance is great too

Everything was amazing, the escargot, the pâté, the chicken dijonaisse. the server was attentive and charming. however some of the cheese on the menu was not actually there. we got a substitute, which was wonderful also, but it would have been nice to have what we’d planned on having. an authentic taste of French cuisine, with great portions. definitely go, I had a wonderful time and will return. everything is so well prepared and we got so much bread and extra touches that made it special.

Was there two weeks ago with my friend. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was amazing(I felt like I literally was at Paris). Will take my mom there for her bday. Strongly recommended!

This place is the oasis of that portion of Gate Parkway. It doesn’t look like much on the outside but once you walk in, all that thinking is left at the door. When you walk-in you see the dessert-case(immediately reminded me of Biscottis) on the right and a «little corner» store of the left with items for sale, such as refrigerated drinks, sauces, t-shirts, etc. the hostess greeted me and took me to my reserved table. Some friends were al ready sitting at the bar with some wine so I waved them to the table. The décor is very Parisian, a small Eiffel Tower replica, Parisian posters, stained glass. It was very nice. Our table and chairs reminded me of garden patio furniture, I guess to feel like you are enjoying afternoon/early evening meal in Paris. The food, oh the food. I thought I had made my mind up about what I was going to order but I changed my mind after it was described to me. I’m talking about the Salade Au Salmon Fume. Our waitress said it wasn’t like a «real» salmon. That turned me off right there. I’m sure it was real, she probably just meant it wasn’t how I would expect it to look. Besides, the entrée was a little basic for me and I really wanted to try something else. I listened to her talk about the Soup Du Jour: a tomato and mushroom soup. Sounded good, tasted excellent. I also ordered a Sangria, which I thought would be weak but it actually was pretty good. So going over the menu again, I decided to get another salmon entrée: Salmon Frais Au Crabe. It’s a big hunk of grilled salmon sautéed with crab beurre fondue with cooked veggies and potatoes. SOLD! It was excellent!!! The flavors were amazing! The only thing disappointing about the entrée portion is the dinner salad. I expected the salad to be bigger than it was. The mixed greens with tomatoes were sparse on my plate. Everyone ordered something different and they throughly enjoyed it. Ah, a visit to the dessert board. I was warned ahead of time about the dessert menu. Just because I saw it in the case doesn’t mean it’s on the board. You have to read the ENTIRE dessert board. I think we all had what’s time choosing what we wanted. Since I like Key Lime year-round, I got the Key Lime tar, thinking it would be manageable to eat after eating my entrée. It was not. Tart is not the word for it. One-third pie suits it better. The crust was just perfect, not burned or crispy but flaky. The filling was tart. A tart Tart hahaha! I loved it. I took half of it home as I reached my limit. My dining companions enjoyed their evening as well as I had. We will definitely have to check out the Ponte Vedra location next.

Such a quaint little spot with some incredible food. You walk into a section of packaged frozen food, dessert and wine to get to the dining room, where the high-ceiling walls are painted murals of French street scenes. Adorable, right? Just get ready for the food. First of all, everything is good, but I am a creature of habit. I always go for lunch — the more affordable option — and always order the crêpe of the day and a bowl of French onion soup. I’ve never been disappointed by their crepes and I’d challenge anyone who says there’s a better french onion soup in town. Their food is simple and reliably delicious, and I love that their portions are just right. I don’t know about you, but I hate paying $ 12 for a lunch and taking half of it back to the office because the portions are really for two. Then just wait for your meal to be «over» and the massive sandwich board to be posted in front of you, which lists probably 50+ desserts of every style and flavor your can imagine. Now on the topic of portions, that all goes out the window for desserts. They are large, and for sharing. If you haven’t saved room, you can even opt for a single truffle — a two-bite bit of perfection to seal the deal. Do it.

Been here a couple of times. Heard the crepes were great. But they were sold out on my first visit. And the crêpe of the day didn’t seem appealing on my second visit. Maybe next time. So in two visits I’ve had their hanger steak, and a sandwich of the day — pork belly. I don’t recall seeing either item on a menu in my life, and I consider myself to be a pretty adventurous foodie. Both meals were great, and portions were small enough to leave room for some amazing desserts. You might want to consider this a 2.5 dollar-sign lunch. But you can check out the menu online and see for yourself.

Took my wife here for her birthday and had a great night. The server was very nice and attentive, also provided good food tips. My hangar steak was VERY good. The vegetables were grilled and awesome. Not sure why there are bad reviews, possibly a different owner?

Overall, it was a good restaurant for lunch. I had the portobello sandwich with a side salad and fruit tart. The food was delicious but slightly over priced and the portions were kind of small. Luckily, I was treated to the meal… Anyway, the restaurant is well decorated and has a fun, French feel. The wait staff are very friendly and helpful. In three words: cute, tasty, expensive.

It’s officially been about 4 years since I’ve been back to Jjs. Why?? I think life has been too busy and finding out about diabetes are likely why. Either way, I’ve sooo missed this place! They still have the same pastry chef, same décor, and mostly the same menu items. This makes my little heart happy. We went last night on a whim to kind of have a last hurrah before I go into food isolation for the next two weeks… going home to my tiny town in bama to be with family. The server was Indy, sweet, fun and this young lady was on point. We selected the two meals prix fixe — Côte d’Azur and sud quest. They come with an app, a salad, an entrée and dessert for $ 45 and $ 30, respectively. I chose the French onion soup, beef bourginon and pear bergere. Mike chose the cheese plate with Brie and st. Andre., the boulliabase and caramel sponge cake ala mode. The French onion soup truly blew me away– it was lighter in color, not nearly as beefy or salty flavored as when I have it everywhere else, also, I LOVED that it wasn’t packed to the brim with onions! I nibbled a bite or two of mikes St. Andre which paired lovely with pear purée. He’s never had boulliabase before for fear it’d come out looking like canned tomatoes with a hot mess of seafood. This came in a light barely creamy with a touch of sweetness perfect amount of sauce. It had shrimp, scallops, salmon and mussels with potato pieces and some toasty garnishes. He said it was amazingly mind blowing. I’ll take his word as I don’t eat seafood. I could barely contain myself long enough to snap a pic of our food before I was tasting my rich robust sauce in my BB. It had generous tender chunks of beef, carrots, potatoes and mushrooms. That’s one thing this place has over most I’ve been to– consistency in flavor and preparation! I mean, we haven’t been back in 4 years and it was like we were just there yesterday. The veg were still cooked tender to perfection, the sauce was earthy and slightly sweet with undertones of red wine… I was in heaven. Btw, salads still are dressed with a light Dijon vinaigrette and are fresh! My fave part of the evening– dessert time and that giant chalk board with 50 types of freshly made desserts on it. Yum. They still make the chocolate raspberry cheesecake with truffle On top, but we didn’t select. I chose a pear bergere tart served warm with wine poached pears on a buttery crumbly biscuit like tart(tastes like what love feels like!) mike had the caramel sponge cake ala mode with extra caramel drizzle. Sooo soft, moist and had a rich buttery caramel sauce. So so sum this experience up, go NOW! Don’t waste any time! Don’t eat for the rest of the day but it’s worth it. I absolutely will be going back. I love this place.

I have been looking all over Jacksonville for French macarons with no luck! Until now!!! Hahaha I finally found a place that makes great tasting authentic French macarons! They are light and crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside! Can’t wait to go back for more!

Fall out of your chair good!!! I mean that *LITERALLY!* On my first bite of their Peanut Butter Chocolate Cheese Cake I literally swooned so much that I fell sideways out of my chair! The next bite was equally as good! I quickly realized that this cake might have been the most amazing dessert of my life so I better make it last as long as I possibly can! I put it in a To-Go container and every day I would treat myself to two bites to get that euphoric feeling(and for the record, it was STILL good 5 days later!) If the recommendation of the Cheesecake isn’t enough, go and get their heavenly Mussels! My particular favorite was their special of the day, «Prince Edwards Island Mussels with Key Lime Cream.» The Key Lime Cream was silky perfection! The uniqueness of the keylime flavoring was a knockout and made you glad to be alive! After all the mussels were eaten we just soaked up the sauce with bread and wished we could just DRINK the rest! Not all the menu items are as highly cherished unfortunately. The chicken crêpe was dry and disappointingly unremarkable. I had high hopes for the Fiorenza Chicken sandwich(Tomato, onions, bleu cheese, and kalamata olives, with basil pesto.) Regrettably the sandwich was just TOOHIGH! The chicken was so thick and the ingredients so tall I had to cut into it and each bite and as a result the flavors couldn’t meld together since I ate it in two different sections. However, our meal choices are usually SPOT on and the service has always been STELLAR! J.J.‘s is a good Florida substitute if you’re yearning for an outdoor Bistro experience(just try to ignore the road in front of you.) I get their strong coffee regardless of what time of day it is and one cannot go to J. J’s without trying their dessert — -just try to stay upright in your chair. ^_^

Skip dinner and get dessert if you go for dinner. This could be a good date establishment but be warned it is located between where-am-I and where-the-heck. Cool scale model of the Eiffel tower.

Have visited this JJ’s on multiple occasions for lunch. There are three daily specials as follows: 1 sandwich 2 crêpe 3 salad I had the crêpe with chicken and fries. I spent a summer in France with time in Paris, and this was as good as any I had over there. C’est bon! The low carb eater in our group had the tomato, mozzarella, and basil. This was a few weeks ago when tomatoes were still very much in season, and you could tell. An excellent appetizer or(in her case) entrée. Lastly, was the roast beef sandwich on multigrain. So simple yet so enjoyable. I had a bite and I’ll be ordering this myself in the future. Try a dessert! Any dessert. I’ve bought several and taken them back to the girls in the office. They are all fantastic. Also, this location has a much better selection than the Ponte Vedra location.
