I give it 3 stars because they are good for the area but nothing and I mean nothing like San Diego. I swear this is one of the few places that makes their tacos with yellow corn tortillas and not flour… and they are actually tasty. I do have to say you have to wait a while to get your tacos but honestly unless it’s an actual taco stand it’ll take a while if it’s a popular place. Tried the torta and was not impressed. I do wish the pastor would taste more like pastor and not carne asada but like I said it’ll do. Overall the food is tasty and will definitely be coming back for when I get my taco cravings.

Best tacos we’ve found in the area so far! Stumbled across this taco truck randomly, and it is a true hidden gem.

I have been to several«authentic» restuarant’s in Jax and they are equivalent to having«chinese food» at places that have names that end with wok… if you catch my drift. If you don’t mind the wait and want delicious real mexican food then go here. This place is a true gem of a find and my go to for late dines. It says something about taco truck when the people who work at mexican restuarants all dine here. Ofcourse no one is perfect and i dont expect it from a taco truck, but i doubt you will find a better place to eat after 10pm. If food quality is not your thing, then there’s a Taco Bell down the street. I usually order a lengua quesadilla with a grapefruit Jarrito drink and if available then the lamb soup or horchata.

One of the greatest discoveries of my life! Was out driving with a friend really late into the evening and he asked«what’s that?» as we were looking for a place to eat. So we stopped in by chance and OHMYJEEZ — I couldn’t stop eating! Now I go when I need a midnight snack or pick something up when a friend needs a pick-me-up. I can’t stop recommending this truck to everyone. It’s seriously . The prices are fantastic for such AMAZING food. I usually get either a chorizo or carne asada taco, and the tamarind jarritos soda. I gotta get a burrito next time I hit that place: D

I love this place! Late night and craving Mexican food? Skip the Bell and head here, they have awesome tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas. The burritos and quesadillas are my favorites and usually get a mix of carne asada and chorizo. They also have a chocolate cake/flan thing and tres leches. Amazing finish to spicy food!

Best carne asada burrito I’ve had in Jax compared to southern Cali authentic Mexican food. The torta sandwiches are great too. And the soup and the tacos. Haha. I definitely recommend calling in your order tho so you don’t really have to wait in line.

Waited 45 minutes for 3 tacos. The only reason I stayed and didn’t ask for my money back was the hope that every time they came to the window they would be calling my order. I’m all about waiting for fresh food, but the 15 minutes per taco wait was ridiculous. No wonder it’s been 7 months since I’ve been here last. Tip: if you have a letter night craving for fresh Mex, grab their card and call ahead and ask what the wait is, or do what I’m going to do and find another spot.

I didn’t like it. Went around midnight on a Saturday night. There wasn’t much of a line, but it took a long time to get our 4 tacos. I didn’t like the taco shell nor the flavor of the meat. The soft taco shell was dry and bland. The meat was tough and I didn’t find it to be flavorful at all. THe staff was nice, but that’s about all that I liked about it.

So I’ve been wanting to stop by this food truck for such a long time. I finally had an opportunity to do so. The food is OK, the price is good, but the service/wait is bad. Yes, this was my first time, so I will have to come back so I can hopefully give them a better rating. When I arrived, there were about 3 other people waiting to get their food(already ordered). After me came a big family of maybe 6 then 2 other individuals. I waited for about 15 min or more(at least it seemed like an eternity) while I watched the family of 6(or more?!) get their food. I told the lady behind the counter that I was still waiting for my order — I had to go up to her TWICE! I finally got my food, went home, ate it, and was SLIGHTLY disappointed. I think La Nopalera on Beach Blvd. has spoiled me rotten because no other tacos al pastor seems to compare to their tacos.(((sigh))) Well, hopefully my next experience at this food truck will be better.

Tried the carne asada, pollo, and carnitas tacos. All were seasoned well. The meat is diced in very small pieces which is perfect for tacos. I hate it when you bite into a taco and the meat falls out or you inadvertently take a bite and pull the fillings out. The veggies on the tacos are also fresh. They offer two types of sauce. One looks like a green tomatillo sauce(spicy), and the other is some red pepper based sauce(a little less spicy). I didnt like that the tacos come in soft corn tortillas only. I like the freshly fried corn tortillas too. The burritos looked good and I prolly will grab one of those next time. This was my first visit to this food truck and was surprised by the amount of people surrounding the truck. This location is a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. You won’t be able to miss the smell in the air!

Oh yes, I got some native fare today. Esquite and Consome. Esquite is mysteriously delicious. Mysterious, because it’s the most unlikely of flavors that somehow make sense when you eat it. Corn floating in some kind of milkyness, mayo at the bottom, mexican cheese at the top. In a sense, it reminded me and my son of creamed corn. Shake some of the spicy red chili powder on it for added flavor and you have a nice healthy side to complement your main dish, whether you get a taco($ 2), a burrito($ 4), or consome lamb soup. Their consome lamb soup includes lamb(of course), cilantro, rice, chick peas. It’s pretty good. My son thought it reminded him of Asian food and that it would be nice to add some tofu in there. Lol. I think it was the broth. They sell Mexican coke and another brand of soda in apple flavor, in addition to the Jarritos. It seems the word is out. There was a group of 4 people waiting for the taco truck before it even set up shop. My friend and I arrived at 8:15 on this Friday evening and the truck was just then pulling in. By the way, they make everything fresh, so we waited for about 20 minutes before we got our meal. Free smells abound! I watched them pull meat out of a bag with marinade and when it hit the pan, my nose was in Heaven.

Meh, we were fairly unimpressed when we stopped by the truck one Friday night. We had the legua(tongue) tacos — 3 of them, and they were okay. The tortillas seemed dry and tasteless and the lime and cilantro on top didn’t help boost the flavor too much. Much better option is Mi Pueblo grocery store(there’s also Mi Pueblo Meat Market, also on the same road, but this is the grocery store. We’ve been to both and the store wins!) on Beach Boulevard. They cook authentic(and cheap!) food in the back and their tacos are incredible.

Great little taco stand attached to the back of the owner’s pickup truck. Don’t expect anything more than tacos because that’s all they do and they do it well. They serve steak, chicken, carnitas, pastor, chorizo, lamb, and tongue. The taco contains the meat of your choice with cilantro, onions, and lettuce(romaine?) wrapped in two corn tortillas with a side of radish slices and lime wedge. Three tacos for 5 dollars and a Mexican coke makes for a quick, cheap, authentic meal. Grab a stool, sit at the counter and chat with owner about the differences in taste between Mexican food prepared in Mexico and Mexican food prepared in the States.
