New pizza place in Elmhurst. So happy. I just place an order for a pie of pizza. I haven’t tried any slice yet but seems really good. People who works here seem has a good attitude. It’s Gona be my favorite place. Updated! I have been ordered pizza from here all the time now until they started mess up with my ordered last three times and act like nothing happen!!! I guess this is a time to change to a new pizzeria. No more Mario for me.

The owner is pretty nice. He is on top of everything. I come here for the penne a la vodka, the spaghetti, the Sicilian squares, and grandma pizza slices. Everything is baked in the oven to make it hot. I usually come by weekly and go for my slice. I love pizza!

Walked in and the place was empty. I was ignored for a good 5 minutes because the woman behind the counter was busy lying to a customer on the phone telling the customer that their delivery had already gone out. Meanwhile, one of the kitchen staff was rushing to bag the order that presumably was already very late. Lying to customers — first red flag. When I was finally acknowledged, I asked whether the pie I was pointing to was eggplant. The woman replied in a very condescending tone, «yes it’s E-G-G-P-L-A-N-T», in a way you’d reply to someone who was hard of hearing or didn’t speak English. After I made my selections, she asked if it was to go or if I was eating in. I replied that I was eating in. Five minutes later she asked me again if I was eating in or if my order was to go. I replied again I was staying. During this whole time the woman behind the counter was engaged in an argument with the cook. When my order was finally ready, the cook asked if I was eating in or if it was to go. The woman answered him that my order was to go. At this point I said that I was asked twice and both times I said I was eating in. To my surprise the woman behind the counter insisted that I replied«to go» both times and proceeded to argue with me. At this point I just said to forget it and that I didn’t want to eat there anymore and would just take it to go. I handed her my money and she was still scolding me for apparently lying that I said I was dining in. That was the last straw for me and I just told her I had changed my mind and didn’t want the order anymore. She threw my money at me and said, «yea, get the hell out of here». What a waste of 20 minutes. Here’s a few tips — learn how to listen, never call your customers liars, and never underestimate word of mouth especially when you’re a new business owner who relies on th business of locals. Over 30 people in the area work for me and guess what — you won’t be getting any of their business. Best of luck to you nasty people. This was the second chance I’ve given this place. The first time I didn’t even order anything because the guy behind the counter seemed like he just couldn’t be bothered helping me.

Great slice and very good garlic knots. Really enjoyed good fresh pizza with very tasty sauce. There are a lot of choices here for the vegetarian lovers.

Please don’t call that pizza there’s no pizza there. I threw It out it was so bad. Soggt, greasy. Dough was not well cooked, that was probably the worst pizza I have ever eatin. They should charge $ 1 and cater to the kids in the school across the street

Let’s first Start off with saying the new vibe is great. Very happy young owners. I was a huge fan of gustaso so I was praying he would just give him the recipe. To my surprise he didn’t, sucks to be me. I absolutely adored the way the old slice taste. I feel torn because customer service is awesome but definitely lacking flavor. Every time I go to «give it another shot» I find myself highly disappointed. Not the worst pizza I’ve had but certainly not the best. I find myself branching out and finding new places.

I would give them 5 stars, but phone service was very slow. Pizza is awesome thin crust and crunchy like I like. Had the margaritas, delivery took 1 hour and a half ummmmm I was starving. The business should really give the option to order online on Unilocal.Makes thing so much easier and faster. And delivery needs to be quicker.

Ordered a pie of pizza. After calling them 3 times within an hour in a half, no pizza. They got the address wrong, never asked for my phone number and decided not to deliver it. Terrible terrible customer service. Will never order from there again! If I could give 0 stars I would.

I’m ordering for home… Like good based on reviews. Let’s see how they taste. So far, very economical. We needed a good pizzeria in this neighborhood.

Not bad change of hands here. The place seamlessly switched ownership and the pizza did not change at all, which is great news. We have a super healthy selection of pizza places here in Jackson Heights, and it takes a good pizza pie to stay here and remain consistent with your customer base. Good job so far. Hot slices are always good.

After reading reviews in Unilocal,I thought I’d give this place a try on a Sunday when Louie’s is closed. I ordered through Eat24 which was super easy. Right away I get a call telling me they were out of pepperoni and gave me another option – that was good service. When the pizza arrived, at a reasonable time, it looked good and fresh. When I tasted it, however, it was a bit… lacking. I realized they forgot the olives. When I called them about it, they graciously delivered olives but still the pizza was not great. I think it was the sauce – it lacked depth. I’m not a snobby pizza connoisseur but I do love a good sauce. Maybe next time, I’ll try their grandma pizza. I will say their service was great and very friendly.

The new owners have done wonders with this place. Fantastic pizza(white with spinach is my fave) and excellent sides like roasted brussels sprouts and beet salad. They kindly tolerate our noisy kids(maybe not the best place for quiet conversation) and are warm and welcoming. We end up eating there after Karate class and soccer practice.

I moved here from Bedstuy 2 years ago and I had my go-to takeway, non-gourmet but damn good NYC slice place. I haven’t found a similar place in Jackson Heights since we moved here. There are options but the pizza wasn’t great. Mario’s has filled this whole in the neighborhood(and my life). The slices are hot, great, flavorful, with tasty, not overly sweet or salty sauces. I had a plain slice and my husband had the margarita. Both were great. I haven’t had one of the veggie sides yet but I have heard great things.

Had Margarita pizza, garlic knots & cauliflower with ham & smoked bacon. Everything was fresh, the pizza was crispy & not overload with sauce & cheese. Will go back!

I was saddened to find out Gustosa’s pizza was going to be sold and nervous about what the new owners might bring, but, as it turns out, the place has been slightly renovated and remained as a pizzeria which happens to serve the tastiest slices!
