They serve traditional street tacos at this nondescript joint located within a strip mall. A few of my coworkers swear by this place and say that it is pretty authentic(one of them was raised in Mexico so I’m just going by his word). This place is cash only so make sure you stop by an ATM before you come here. This place adheres to my lunchtime rules of being cheap and fast so I checked it out with my coworkers in tow. The tacos here go for $ 1.00 each unless you get tripe, which is like $ 1.50. They have a lunch special for $ 5.00 that includes 3 tacos, rice, and beans if you want to go that route as well. I ended up just getting 3 tacos(barbacoa, al pastor, and carnitas) to try a little bit of everything. The tacos were good overall, though for some reason the barbacoa tacos came out on a semi-soft tostada shell compared to the soft corn tortillas of the others. The al pastor was definitely the most tasty of the 3 and I would definitely just get that one if I came back here. The other two varieties I tried were average at best. Chips and salsa are complementary provided and the warm salsa was tasty though not really spicy for me. My coworkers say that it is a slow burn, but I really couldn’t tell. The salsas for the tacos come in a verde and roja form and both were pretty tasty, but like the warm salsa, there wasn’t enough kick in them for me. They make their own salsa I believe so give it a try and you might like it because my coworkers raved about their salsa(one even bought a bottle of it). The location itself may look a little sketchy, but the service was friendly and the place was relatively empty for lunch. I’m not quite sure how they stay in business when there seemed to be so little traffic, but apparently they do. I don’t know if I would specifically drive out to this location myself in the future, but I’d tag along if someone else was driving and I wanted something cheap and quick.
