Phenomenal !!! We all the jungle burger and one the best burgers we have ever had. The fries were fresh and tasted like home fries with skins on them. It’s a dive and who cares about the decorating. The ladies behind the counter were very sweet!

So I decided to try this place again, I mean it’s been a year right? Nope, still has horrible customer service. It is 8:30. They close at 9:00. Apparently it’s too late to eat here and they only take orders to go. I mean srsly it doesn’t take along time to eat a burger especially since there are still a lot of people in their dining room.

The hamburgers are bland and they don’t have combos. Not happy with the price either. Not my first or last choice. Will not be going back and most definitely not recommending it. The lady that took my order was rude and impatient with my questions!

Price: Appetizers $ 0.25 to $ 8.50, Burgers $ 5 to $ 7.25(Combos add $ 3,) Sandwiches $ 5.50 to $ 7.25, Salads $ 3.25 to $ 8.50, Desserts $ 3.25 to $ 4, Kids Basket $ 5 to $ 6.50. Service: Inattentive Ambience: A small lonesome dining area, with mirror panels on two of the three walls surrounding you. Large window in the center of the entrance and exit doors. Laminate chairs/tables. Noise Level: Mexican soap operas playing softly, difficult to ignore the co-workers gossiping in spanish. Location: 2500 N. Story Rd. Irving; 972−255−0154 Hours: Monday-Saturday 10am to 9pm; Sunday 10:30am to 9pm Reservations: N/A Credit Cards: American Express, Visa, Mastercard Wheelchair Accessible: Yes Alcohol: No For us daydreamers, there is something deeply satisfying about eating alone, in a quiet comfortable area. This restaurant had that, for the most part. There is not a lot to take in on your first visit. No decorative pieces, no colors, all you see at a glance, are the mirrors on the wall, and the dark green cushions on the seats. The menu however, is in-turn, a bit overwhelming for first timers. As you walk to the register you can expect to see a complexity of variety in their fast food like menu. I contemplated tying anything risky(BBQ burger, Chipotle Cheese burger, Hawaiian, etc.) I like crazy, but I was a little uneasy after seeing the boxes of frozen food piled in the kitchen. I decided to play it safe, Bacon Cheeseburger(picture above.) Came out in less than 10 minutes, but, we were the only customers there at the time. We payed extra for bacon on a second burger, it was forgotten and brought to us by hand, wrapped in a paper towel. Buns were store bought and unaltered. Patty was frozen ground beef, seasoned with salt and pepper. Vegetables such as onions, lettuce, and tomatoes were fresh. But aside from the lucky bites were veggies were found, the burger was dry. I will not go as far as saying, it was a bad burger. I grew up eating these exact same burgers at family cookouts. They have their unique and acquired taste. I drenched my burger in ketchup with the bottle they had at our table, and enjoyed my lunch. The restaurant is not by any means amazing. What it is-is a great alternative to a major fast food restaurant. Quick lunch/dinner, especially if you live right around the corner. Check it out if you’re around the area. Burger Island is a quick fix, not a satisfying option. Would I Return? No

The jungle burger was excellent. The burger is huge and full of flavor. The fries are also good. The place is small and not fancy, but I came here for a burger and it was fantastic!

3 stars be cuz it’s definitely better than chain options. I tried the Jungle burger, it was a big size burger, meat itself wasn’t season much and it didn’t have a distinct flavor that would set it apart from other specialty burger joints. The reason I rated it a 3 is because it is hands down better than anything you would get at Mcdonals, Jack in the box, whataburger etc. but it doesn’t not rank high amongst other specialty burger places like Jr Burgers, wingfields etc. I went there for lunch on a Tuesday, waited about 15 mins for my food, fries were pretty good also light on the seasoning though. You can tell these patties are previously frozen based on the size and shape of the patty so that’s a plus. They seem to be a bit stingy on bacon, the island burger which looks like it comes with everything they have, only comes with ONE strip of bacon. I asked to make sure I wasn’t missing anything and the cashier said yup only comes with 1 piece, u can add more for $ 1. No thanks. Burger, fries and a drink cost me $ 11.xx. Overall a better experience than a fast food spot so in that sense to me it was worth the extra 3 – 4 $. I would however choose to explore other options if I was looking for an extraordinary burger experience because you won’t find that here.

Staff is nice food is not. I got the double burger for about $ 7.00. The meat reminded me of cafeteria food not that that’s always bad. Its $ 3 more for frys and 25 cents for Ranch on the side. For the food being below mediocre I’m surprised everythings itemized & pricy.

Went here for lunch today, as usual I was not disappointed, during lunch hours it’s a little crowded, but the staff makes sure your are taken care of in spite of the crowd. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger, and my co-worker had the Turkey Burger, we ate good, and got full, 2 satisfied customers!

O Wow this place is a hole in wall needs some serious updating and remodeling family run joint once you get past the interior and place an order the burgers and sandwiches are fabulous I had the Philly and it was spot on cooked perfect and the green peppers were grilled right with the flavor still present the lady that took are order definitely needs to work on her general overall attitude she wasn’t rude or anything she just wasn’t pleasant maybe she was having a day. This is a local neighborhood place for sure. If you want a good burger it’s good nothing fancy here though.

The food was bland. No flavor. The customer base seemed to be mainly senior citizens and the elderly which is probably why the food tasted like hospital fare. They have a television on the wall and it was tuned into ESPN. It was sort of quiet. It was clean. The prices were kind of expensive.

This place is a dirty, filthy dump. The tables and floor were dirty and the silverware was also dirty. The food is WAY overpriced. And on top of that, our meat tasted a little funny. Later that night we were ALL sick from the food. Won’t ever go back there again.

I was thinking their burgers are overpriced for being about $ 6 each but they are half-pound burgers so too much food for a normal person. I had the guacamole burger which would be fine but there were both American and Provolone cheeses, when I asked for no American. It was okay. The fries and onion rings were good. Fresh cut fries, not frozen. Really crispy onion rings. Not good enough to go back, but decent if you’re looking for a mediocre but large burger.

Love this place. They have the best burgers in Texas; hands down! Each and every time we go there they get our order just right whether we dine in or take out. I have nothing to complain about. It’s a nice quiet cozy place and tell every one to go there!

This place is way WAYWAY overpriced!!! I only gave it two stars because the burger is big. All I got was a burger and it cost me 6.50 I think that’s a bit much for just a burger then to top it off there’s a sign that offers you a combo for 3.00 more. Really you gotta be kidding me. These guys want you to pay an extra three dollars for a .50 can of soda and over done fries I don’t think so. I can get the same size burger at whataburger with a what a size drink and fries for cheaper and it will taste better. It’s my first and last time visiting that place. A little tip for the owner of this joint if you are going to charge an extra 3.00 for a combo at least offer 32oz fountain drinks instead of insulting customers with can sodas you brought from SAMs at about 4.00 a case.

The best burgers ever! A «hole in the wall» with great service and great prices. I order the Mushroom Burger every time but I am looking forward to trying the chicken, as I hear it’s great. The place is an older building but it’s clean enough with a friendly staff.

First time here, and it did not disappoint! The BEST burger I’ve had in a long time, and I’m very picky about my burgers. Very juicy, and perfect combination of flavored. I had the mushroom cheeseburger. The hand cut fries were excellent, too! Yes, the atmosphere and customer service isn’t superb, but it did not bother me one bit!

Okay, my mom always said if you have nothing good to say then don’t say nothing at all… the end. But since I never did take my mom’s advice I guess I’ll write a little bit more. It’s a hole in the wall, so who cares about décor or lack of it. Who cares about little TVs. I really wish there were none. What I care about is hamburgers. This is the first burger place I’ve eaten at since I got back from a vacation to Colorado. On that trip I ate at two of the best burger places in the world(Al’s in Ft. Collins) and(Arnold Burger in Amarillo — best burger place in the world!!!). So coming here to Burger Island was one of the biggest letdowns of my life. My wife and I each ordered the regular burger for $ 4.75. That is more expensive than the great burger at Al’s and about the same price as the one I had at Arnold Burger. That’s the same price as a double burger at In-N-Out which I would’ve preferred. First thought when I saw the burger was that it indeed was ½ lb. Okay, that’s cool I’d asked for lettuce on mine and since they assured me the onions were chopped, I asked for a little bit of onions too. There was very little lettuce and the onions were chunks, not the chopped I thought chopped meant. I took off all the onion chunks. I took a bite and that’s when my disappointment appeared. The burger was blah. There was no seasoning at all on the burger and that had nothing to do with the fact I only had lettuce on mine. I love the taste of a good burger and there was no taste to this meat. The more I ate(only because I’m a cheapskate) the more I wanted to go to Burger King or go to Kroger and buy some meat and make my own burgers. I actually make better burgers than this. It’s 2 hours later and I’ve decided not to do that. I’m fat enough as it is at 198 pounds. So I’ll save that for another day. Well, I can see why some people love this place, especially if you’re chunky and just love to eat. Many people inside when we went were overweight. I think it’s the same as those who go to bad buffets like Golden Corral. It’s not so much that the food tastes great, but that you get a large portion. I think that’s what people think here who have given it a good rating. But then again, I may be wrong. They have a large variety of burgers like the pizza burger etc. etc. Yes, if you care more about toppings than the taste of meat then this place is for you. But tell me, how can you even taste the beef with all that gunk on top of a burger? Before we left, someone took fries out to a table and I could smell the garlic on them. My thought was why didn’t they put some of that garlic in the burger as they cooked it? Another negative was the buns were not toasted much at all. I must have my buns toasted As for those who spoke in their reviews about the Neighborhood, you’re right, it sucks… people get murdered just down the street. Irving has turned into a ghetto over past 6 – 10 years and some of the worst neighborhoods sometimes have the best burger dives. Why can’t we get a good place to eat burgers in North Irving? Well, I said a lot more than nothing at all. Sorry Burger Island for the phone call from Unilocal you might get for my giving you this bad review. I have friends who own a restaurant and Unilocal calls them after bad reviews offering them a chance to upgrade their account and reply, etc. And no, I will not be back, but I will save up my money and get back to Arnold Burger in Amarillo. Now that’s place which is well worth the 360 mile trip.
