Kemnitz Air Conditioning & Heating

I couldn’t get the furnace to fire up when this cold snap hit earlier this week. Kemnitz had a cancellation yesterday, fit me in and sent Jason over to take a look. He was professional and knowledgeable, and after running some checks, determined that our 21 year old Carrier (lifespan of 20 years) had a bad circuit board. He was straight up about the repair and the ending lifespan of the heater, but without any hard sell on a new one. Jason was here at 8 this morning and promptly installed a new board and wiring adapter. Heater is pumping now! Thanks Jason! Thanks Kemnitz!

I called to have my heater checked as it went out intermittently. A young man came and turned the thermostat on and off several time and declared it is working now and charged me $ 85 service call. He stated I needed a new heater.
I called someone else a few days later and they came out and replaced the «board» for parts and labor at $ 275. Needless to say, I will never deal with Kemnitz again after the 20 years of giving them the benefit of a doubt. I now wonder how much I have been taken in the past.

First, the appointment provided was only a half hour window versus the typical 2 to 4 hour window. And — the technician was on time. Paul was our A/​C Tech. Paul was fast, thorough, and accurate. He cleaned our coils, vacuumed the internal air exchange area, changed the filter, then went outside to check & add coolant. He was here only 1 ½ hours. The cost was very competitive.
This is my second experience with Kemnitz and Paul. Would call them again.

Yesterday the Kemnitz service man spent 20 minutes repairing our furnace. That was the total time start to finish. I had called the day before and asked the service charge and was quoted $ 85. The service man showed me the part I needed and I was charged a total of $ 192. I called around today today and found out the part was a$ 5.00 part. What a rip off, so much for honesty and integrity of this company!

An honest contractor, what a new concept. No hard sell, just providing the services they promise, very well.
No gimmicks, no tricks. When dealing with Allen the owner you understand why he has been in business for so long, he gives you the fact and you decide. Paul did the installation, was professional and on time. Joy did a great job to coordinate the project and timely communicate every step of the way.
What matters with A/​C is the competence and quality of the installation not so much the equipment.
They understand the lifetime value of a customer.

On a day when everywhere more than a few miles from the beach broke the century mark, someone getting your AC working should probably get 50 stars. But, being objective, I’m giving Kemnitz four stars because:
Pros:
1. Paul (the technician) was on time and let me know when he was en route. In fact, he got here before I did.
2. Instead of waiting around, he went up to the roof to check out the unit and make sure that aspect was running.
3. Shoe covers, ‘nuf said.
4. My condo is under 80 degrees (not just in the middle of the night) for the first time in weeks.
Cons:
1. Service hours, I had to leave work early to ensure I would be here.
Misc:
The AC’s not necessarily fixed for good as the issue was tied to a weak breaker. But thanks to Paul’s explanation, I have a general understanding of the issue and the potential cost of fixing it.
This company was recommended by my HOA; their expertise re: the community and condos added to the amazing service experience.
