I have been coming to Hairport for 2 years now and I finally had enough. The owner started to have health problems with tremors and as they progressed the service deteriorated. He has cut my neck with the razor before, and did not apologize, this broke my patience. He also put on some major weight last year, and as a result will need to take breaks during your haircut. John also will close up early if there are not enough customers or don’t open at advertised hour in the morning, so if you do come, you need to be there between 11 AM and 3 PM, everything else is a gamble.
I think this was a good shop, but 20 years ago. Trust me, take your business somewhere else. Plenty of other people are as capable, without being rude or unprofessional.

I love coming to this place! It’s truly an old time barber shop which I was looking for. Great haircut with attention to detail and not rushing to get you outta there. Hot lather on the neck and ear line with a straight razor shave of the neck. To top it off they use this product at the end that makes your hair and neck feel cool and tingle for awhile and finish with an barber massage. Couldn’t ask for much more for $ 18. Definitely found my barbershop.

Very good barbershop. If you want an old-​style full-​service haircut that’s not rushed, come to the Hairport. A men’s haircut is $ 18, which is pretty standard in IC.

I have been going to get my haircut from John for over 5 years and he takes his time when you get a cut. There is none of this ‘get you out of the chair as soon as possible’ mentality that happens nearly everywhere else I go. John is committed to getting every hair exactly in the right place spot.
It is also great because you can be a guy. Too often you get stuck at some place where you have a bunch of women cutting your hair with nothing interesting to say, I like a little chit chat.
Often when I come in, I can catch up with whats going on around town. Plus you never know who you are going to run into while you hang out. Super friendly place overall.
