Went there with my wife and kids, the food was great, we took food home and was still really good. Will be back.

The bagels are decent, but the way they set up service is really bad. You stand in line and order, wait for you order to be done, then wait again to pay for your food as it cools. They do not have someone specifically manning the register. Who cares if 4 people need to pay! You can’t leave now that you are holding your bagel. The person may do orders and soup and drinks. So if they are busy you can cool your heels and wait more… Maybe someone will come and let you pay and leave. Every time I come, I regret it! I keep hoping time will help work out the kinks. The pre-fire place had way better service and real toasters.

Convenient, but very pricey for what you get. As a college student, I occasionally stop by Bruegger’s for a quick breakfast or lunch– the environment is nice and the food doesn’t take long to reach your mouth. However, most of it is quite overpriced. For example, the classic wrap– $ 5 for a bit of egg(they say two, but I’m quite positive it was just one), some deli ham, and 2 pieces of too-sharp-for-my-taste cheddar cheese wrapped in a store-bought tortilla. It was also much smaller than I had expected, so I ended up buying something else since I was still hungry. Not a fan. I do like their cream cheeses and bagels– egg, cheese, and bacon in a bagel is one of my go-to’s-, and would recommend anyone going there to stick with what they’re known for: bagels and cream cheese.

First of the chain bagel places to open up in Iowa city back in 1988 or 1989 it was decent at the time. Good bagels and smear but it was not New York or chicago.

The food is good, the employee and manager attitudes are CRAP. After months of watching the employees and managers talk negatively about patrons, I am no longer going to give them my time, money, or endorsement.

I dunno, it’s a Bruegger’s… the bagel chain that has standardized, seemingly intentionally, the degree of mediocrity across all of their bagels. No really, all the bagels they sell have exactly the same amount of «good enough for health code» baked into each of the thin, crust-less rings of dough. Whatever, it’s 7:30 and you have class in a half hour, so go ahead, inject those low-payoff calories and keep your head upright during the lecture. Excelsior!

This Breugger’s has improved SOOOO much since last year and since installing a Caribou Coffee in shop. The customer service used to be complete crap and they would yell at you and rush you to order but now it’s everything you could dream of in a bagel shop! Its super tempting to stop there every morning before class to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee! I get soo many different things off the menu… herby turkey, bacon egg, western, my own concoctions… it never gets old! I live further from Breugger’s than I did last year but ironically I am there far more this year than last. Love this Breugger’s location!

I love this Brueggers! Every time I come in-even if it’s busy-I get great service and smiles. Jerrod, JR, and Matt are the best AM crew ever! Also the flavored coffees like Pumpkin, French Toast, and Sea Salt and Caramel are amazing without being overly sweet. Bagels are always fresh and delicious!!! Stopping in before work always starts my day off right. Thanks guys!!!

I ordered a large coffee and they gave me at 16 oz cup. No, that’s a medium cup at most. Strike one. I’ve had great bagels in my life. Not from here though. The bagels did not seem fresh(if they were, they are doing something wrong). I haven’t had anything else from here, but I would only go again since there isn’t much around.

I love the reopened downtown location. Very good bagels and managed very well. The downtown location is clean and comfortable. The Riverside Brueggers is not clean though. The exposed air ducts were thick with mold and dust. Definitely avoiding it until it gets a good scrub down.

I went to Breuggers a few months ago after a nasty divorce and was pleasantly surprised. The Jalapeño cream cheese is very good. It’s spicy and it tastes good. Almost packs as big of a punch as my ex-wife. Also, I’ve never gotten the smoked salmon bagel there but it looks awesome.

So after this being my 3 time coming here and it still being super good I decided to write a review. Yummy bagels, good selection of juice and drinks and friendly staff. I like when I come to a place and someone takes the time to ask me how I’m doing, if I need anything, small talk yatta yatta. Thank you Mario for making me have a lovely experience. Superior customer skills and good bagels will ensure my loyalty as a customer :)

OK, I guess, when your only other bagel alternative is Pepperidge Farms bagels at the grocery store. No real crust on the bagels, and the cream cheeses taste pretty processed. Not to mention on the weekends you deal with the weekend lines, and Ken & Barbies taking their time ordering a simple freakin’ bagel. Staff is always very nice, though, and decent prices. When will someone show IC(or maybe Iowa, in general) what a real bagel is like?

This is my favorite bagel place(it is also the place where I had my very first bagel as a child – aah, memories:)). They have a nice chewy bagel with wonderful taste. Love their cream cheese. Their bagel sandwiches are really fresh and yummy, and their soups are consistently good. Their prices are reasonable, and their bagels are always tasty!

Bruegger’s is your average chain bagel shop. It is also, to my knowledge, the only place to get a bagel in Iowa City(which is utterly depressing).

Oh, Brueggers, I miss you so… There was a Brueggers for a little while in Evanston, but now its gone. And now I’m stuck with Einsteins. Overpriced, crappy, yuppie-infested Einsteins. Ug. But Brueggers is quite possibly the best bagel bakery chain I’ve ever encountered. Now that I’ve been in Chicago for many years, Brueggers is truly one of the staples of Iowa life I still pine for. Good, fresh, cheap bagels,(sometimes still hot, if you’re lucky) friendly people, and I STILL to this day try to make a stop and pick up some veggie cream cheese and haul it back to Chicago with me. *sigh*
