Paid 100 bucks for the VIP treatment. Was treated like we were first graders. Service was the worst. Will not be back. It was obvious we were not regulars and we were treated as such.

What a hidden gem! The bartenders, especially Thomas & Joshua, were very attentive and made delicious drinks with fruit purée and fun candied rims. They even smell the cocktails, as they’re mixing them, to make sure the aromas are equally appealing! Ask for a custom drink, or a surprise from the bartender, and you won’t be disappointed! My friends and I will definitely be back!

This place quite literally makes me LOL. First, let’s take a visit to their Facebook page. Over 14,000 likes. LOL WHAT?!
The Mill has been around since 1962 and only has 7,555 likes. Brother’s Bar & Grill was established in 1967 and can only muster 5,000 likes. But this place, «founded in 2013» has already wooed enough customers to garner a flabbergasting 14,000 likes?! Ha ha HA! A more likely scenario, management clicked over to
and paid for those likes and ridiculous reviews. Come on. This is Iowa City. No bar is that popular, especially yours.
Skeptical as I was due to their too-​good-​to-​believe numbers on FB, I ventured to this establishment ready to overlook their overzealous attempts to be liked. You walk in and it’s apparent that they’ve got haughty aspirations – black lights, VIP area complete with velvet rope and «bouncer», and the customary pretty waitress in a painted on dress. Their hopes do not deliver.
The VIP area stinks of stale beer, I doubt the floor gets mopped. The bouncer hates you, even if you’re spending $ 400. The waitress can’t remember shit. The drinks are fine, and absolutely not special. And the weirdly bragged about bathrooms were clearly designed by a man, because no woman wants to be assaulted with that kind of lighting.
I’d forgive Eden for being pompous if they had more redeeming factors, but I gave them a try and found them severely lacking.

First to get this place you have to go down an alley and when you walk in the front door, it smells absolutely amazing.
There were four of us and we sat at the bar. We had asked about a menu, as we had heard they sell small plates and desserts, but they had said we could bring food in. I was a little thrown off by that, as it was only around 8PM and I had heart they had hummus, meat and cheese plates, crab legs and desserts?
Anyway, all of us ordered Moscow Mules and they were served in the copper mugs. The prices were great and we had a great bartender.
I’d like to try this place again, but maybe with some snacks available.

Do not buy bottle service.
I bought bottle service for my friend’s bachelor party. Twenty minutes into our «VIP experience» we were told we had a half an hour to leave the VIP area.
Despite our protest, at no point were we offered any sort of compensation or abeyance from their rule of which we had not been told before our purchase.
When we made to leave, we found that our coats had been taken. The staff maintained that patrons’ belongings were not their responsibility.

It’s a fun concept and a welcome addition to IC, but I think they need to work on execution. The desserts weren’t that interesting for a place that specializes in desserts. They seemed as if they were defrosted from Sysco or something like that… I can get something very comparable at Trader Joe’s (although I guess I’d have to drive to Des Moines then). It was nice to hang out in a nightclubby space and sip bubbly.

Came to IC for graduation weekend, came here on a friends recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. Great cocktails, and the staff and bartenders were friendly and provided good service.

Eden is by far my favorite hang out in Iowa City. Perfect place to hang out with your group of friends, go on a romantic date, enjoy the PERFECT mule (several to choose from) or indulge in some amazing desserts.
The music is always bumpin’ from a live pianist to their house DJ to big city DJ’s brought in from all over the country. Their house DJ is one of my favorites! He stays on top of current pop, hip-​hop and EDM trends to cater to all of those who visit the lounge!
The drink, appetizer & dessert menu are phenomenal. I’ve not had a single thing here that I don’t like (and I am picky).
The place isn’t ideal for a family with young children, though the owners & staff are so nice, I’m sure they’d accommodate anything.
I’ve seen people come in dressed pretty casually but with the classy décor, I’d suggest going at least business casual if not dressy.
If you want a night of feeling extra special, call ahead for bottle service. You get your own roped off seating area, a parade of girls delivering your drinks and the attention of everyone else in the place.
