Went there for happy hour… not so happy experience. We ordered the flatbread which was basically a flatbread with some canned tomato sauce and unripe tomatoes on top. The house wine wasn’t too bad, but the moscow mule seemed rather sweet. We were hoping to enjoy it, but sadly we won’t be going back.

The food is excellent and the location – right next to the playground. If you have kids and it’s summertime, this is a great place to go. Sometimes the service isn’t up to par but we had a good experience last time.

We were just there for Easter brunch. They tried too hard. No bacon, no eggs(except a made-to-order omelet that fell apart). They provided all the fixings for a lox bagel(lox, cream cheese, capers, red onion) but failed to offer bagels. Their«gourmet» dishes were uninspired and cold. Lamps over the food just weren’t cutting it. Finally, for $ 38 in this town, orange juice and coffee better be included. They were not.

In a college town like this… Share is an unexpected gem! After my stay at the Sheraton(nightmare!!!) I wasn’t expecting much from this restaurant associated with the hotel… however i was very pleasantly surprised! The menu is fresh and unique… With great local ingredients. Service was solid. I enjoyed the avocado salad, the heirloom tomato salad, and the charcuterie plate. All were well prepared, beautifully presented, and my food came very quickly. The server was knowledgable about the menu and also the wine list and provided additional recommendations. Overall… It was an outstanding experience. I won’t be staying at the Sheraton again… But I will be back to this restaurant.

I came here for dinner while staying at the Sheraton. I ordered food to go at the bar. The bartender was really nice, helpful and fast. I got the pot roast, broccolini, avocado salad and molten chocolate cake. All were prepared well and tasted good. I will be coming back when I visit Iowa next!

We went for Easter brunch. They were very disorganized at first. Not everything was out when we got there for our seating at11 and it took a while before they found someone to cut the meat. Overall the food was decent. Some of the items not your typical brunch items. Chicken was way too smoky. Beef and ham were great. Omelettes were amazing and the deserts had a great variety. The staff were either very helpful or very annoying. After I told my waitress I was done with my juice(for some reason she didn’t take the cup) she continued to ask me FIVE times if I wanted more within about 10 – 15 minutes. Yet when we needed refills at the beginning she was nowhere to be found.

It’s nice to stay at a hotel with a tasteful restaurant attach to it. Very clean and safe!!! Good place to be around!

Terrible restaurant. I was surprised considering the good stuff I’ve heard before about this place. The food was horrible. I ordered the Ravioli and I rarely complain about food but this was terrible. Service so slow although restaurant is almost empty. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Bad service. Visited Share a couple weeks ago with 4 other friends. We ordered our drinks first and then our food as usual. After waiting over 15 minutes for our drinks we had to wave the waitress over to let remind her of our drink order. She said they were short a bartender and they were moving slower that night. Understandable. What I don’t understand is how people dining at tables around us still got there drinks before us. Our food came and still no drinks. Finally I had to track down another waiter because our waitress was nowhere in sight. He went to the bar and made the drinks himself. We received our drinks when we were pretty much finished with our meal. The food was good, but not sure it is worth going back with service like that.

The service was great. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. It’s a tapas style restaurant so you might need to order a few small plates to fill you up. The taste of the food was alright, thus the 3 stars.

We had an amazing dinner at Share. The crab tostadas are to die for, the quesadilla of the day was delicious, and frite flyte was incredibly tasty. The portions were very generous for the price. The service was great. My only problem was that no one really knew about the specials or Sheraton’s Social hour which is weekdays 5pm-7pm where you can get 290+ point demi pours served in Riedel glasses for $ 5. It is no wonder they don’t know about this when the standard wine flights are from $ 12-$ 16. I definitely will return while I am in Iowa City.

Slow service. Plan on being here for a while. Waiter forgot about us when we were eating out on the patio.

This review is for GAMEDAY in Iowa. $ 3 wells on game day when everywhere else charges $ 5 or more. This is a great place to drink with multiple TVs to watch the game and clean bathroom. CLEAN bathroom and no line is a luxury downtown Iowa City on game days — really. The décor is classy and the waitresses are friendly, very busy but attentive. I’ve never had bad service here on a game day. They offer a special for burgers $ 5 and hotdogs, and there’s a serving station setup with all the fixings — extensive selection of everything you could possibly want on your burger/hotdog. i love it here on gamedays and it’s my best kept secret really for iowa city. the deals extend one hour after end of game. Share is part of Starwood, so there’s a certain standards they will uphold, I don’t know how the food is on regular days because I’ve never cared to try it simply because i don’t see the value here, but on game days the drinks here are a tremendous value.

My experience here has been very good. Probably a 4 but the table next to me got two different dishes with salmon so salty they couldn’t eat it so I gave it a 3 us the response from the server was not quite up to par… I enjoy the falafel sliders, the roasted tomato soup, and any flatbread dish is good. It is not overrun with college students. It actually doesn’t feel like a hotel restaurant though it’s affiliated with the Sheraton next door. I have only visited in the summer and sitting outside is lovely. It’s busy but the play gym noise is somewhat masked by the public splash fountain. I think the décor is very nice inside and the drink list is interesting. I think it’s worth a try if you’re in town for business.

Excellent if you want to eat bad food ALONE and have dirty dishes pile up around you while the restaurant is empty snd the servers are too busy chatting to take your drink order. A group of us went after work last Friday. Place was empty. Bad sign. Appetizers cold and greasy. Lots of wait staff just hanging around. None could visit the far end of the table for drink orders or pick up dirty plates. Despite promoting happy hour, staff wouldn’t let us pay cash as we ordered drinks and brought a bill that subtracted a global discount rather than itemizing happy hour prices for each drink. And we paid plenty for all that– Booooo!

Based on the reviews from the fellow Unilocalers, I was a bit skeptical about Share, but after dining in on a «Friday with class», I was much more enthused about this place. FWC is Share’s version of a happy hour and features a limited, but good, menu and some excellent drink specials. It’s located inside the Sheraton hotel, across from the lobby and just off the ped mall. The seating inside is plentiful, the atmosphere is casual yet classy, and there is plenty of outdoor seating as well. The wine selection is impressive with enough choices for even the most discerning palate. The beer selection is a little lighter, but impressive in the variety offered. They’ve got a dozen or so higher end beers, including a number of darks and Belgians that are sure to please anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. The drink specials included $ 4 glasses of wine, $ 12 select bottles and a ton of mixed drinks that were half price(and most of them served 2 to begin with). Great deals were had — especially on the Moscow Mule! This delicious libation is a combo of vodka, ginger beer and lime juice and comes cold in a copper cup! The FWC menu included a number of small plates that are all half off. They range in price from $ 3 to $ 6 and are all very worth the trip. We shared an Iowa pork pizza, the cheese plate, and the pulled pork sliders. All were excellent and paired with the drink specials, we had a good olé time! Overall, this was a great find for happy hour. A little on the expensive side during normal hours, but for the quality, ambiance and selection, we feel like’s worth it. Great place for groups and the service was quality. Great place to go before a walk on the ped mall or a night on the town.

Share is a good place to go in a college town as an adult — slightly upscale, good beer and wine, and an environment that doesn’t attract the undergrad set. We’ve had some great experiences there in the past, and the staff/management is exceptional. The menu features inventive twists on classic foods, and the small plates are great for sharing. I love what they are doing with their wine list. PROS: wine list, inventive menu items, great location with outdoor seating, great staff CONS: On my last visit there, the food left a little to be desired, unfortunately: Duck fat fries were nothing special — reminiscent of McDonalds; chorizo-jalapeño flatbread was mushy and topped with what I think were Doritos; oyster po-boys were borderline gross — mushy breading that slides off the oyster.

Nice environment. Hotel basic menu — good service. I did not attend but they have a wine tasting with tapas at night that looks yummy! Breakfast was good, but a little slow.

A work colleague took me here for lunch on a Friday around noon and there were only two other tables with patrons. The tomato soup was pretty good but the real star of the show was the hummus. It comes with sliced pita and a handful of veggies. There might be a *bit*’ too much garlic in it(says a lot coming from me) but it was very creamy. The restaurant was a bit pricey for the overall quality of the food but it’s not a bad place to get lunch. We also stood there for a few minutes before getting a seat and considered leaving — which is strange because the place was basically empty.

This is the new restaurant in the Sheraton, downtown Iowa City. They have a lot of work to do. The atmosphere is dressy and nice, but the tables are densely packed in. Our waiter had a hard time setting plates in front of my wife because it was so crammed in. The service was terrible. We waited at least 5 minutes after being seated before anyone came over, even though there were only 3 other tables with customers. The food was decent. It was glorified bar food in a nicer atmosphere. The mixed appetizer was OK. The hot wings were good, but the mozzarella sticks were cold and the ribs were tough. The Rachel(a reuben with turkey) was pretty good. Don’t think I’ll be going back unless I hear they have worked out the kinks.
