It is a great place to buy a cup of tea or coffee and read their books before buying them — think of Borders Book but focused on metaphysical books. They also have a nice selection of music CDs and related gifts, reminding me of a Hallmark store that is focused on metaphysical items. So, if that is what you are looking for then its a great spot. However, if you are looking for spiritual guidance via psychics and energy healers or classes then I will say that this place disappoints. I tried it when I was early on my path and have not been there in a long time, as it just isn’t for the serious seeker.

Wandered in here while waiting for my friends to meet me for dinner. This is a really nice store. Yes a bit expensive; however, these are quality items. Artisan works of art. Great for gift shopping.

There are two types of hippie shops. Ones that are like Magic Bus with their water pipes and wall full of frisbees and marijuana paraphernalia. There are also ones like New Age People that get in tune with our spiritual side(that is, if we have one). I came in because I love a good local shop with fair trade items and other specialty stuff. As everyone else has been saying, this place is pretty pricey. I would never spend $ 10 on a crystal the size of my thumbnail even if I did believe that crystals have healing powers. I will say though, that the books are fairly priced. I bought one on palm reading(need to brush up on this as this is my go-to parlor trick in social situations!) and past life regression, which intrigued me as it’s a way to figure out why we subconsciously do things. There’s even a wee café in the back as well as psychic readings in the back room. NAP also offers information about different goings-on in the community, such as yoga classes, meditation, etc.

What a fun store, and not just for hippies! Yes there are crystals, wands, dream catchers, and more… but also feel good things for anyone like bath salts, wind chimes, incense, teas, candles, and jewelry. When I visited they also had a psychic, chakra photos, and massages. Its a whole experience. You may not classify yourself as «new age» but if you are just looking for some things to make you feel good stop in!

This was my first time in New Age People(NAP) and found myself mesmerized by the exquisite crystals. Once I moved on, I found myself flitting throughout the store drawn from one interesting object to the next. The atmosphere is relaxing and quite plus you can enjoy a cup of 100% organic, freshly brewed loose leaf tea at the small café/counter made while you wait. NAP offers a large selection of items for yourself or gifts . As I explored I found myself relishing all areas of the store from the beautiful sounds of the wind chimes, gorgeous tea pots collections, beautiful, but pricey, jewelry collection, shelves of self-help books, music selection to browse through, distinctive journals, garden statues, all while enjoying the soothing music and aromas of the store. I even found myself purchasing incense pods with an adorable stone holder. My purchase was the Essential Essences Brand and the Rain Goddess Hawaiian Plumeria fragrance. It reminded me of the fresh rain scent of Hawaii. NAP also offers therapeutic massages, classes, and readings. I’m looking forward to my next visit at NAP, especially on a very stressful day.

I was very disappointed in the pricing of most everything in this store. The selection is fantastic but over-pricing makes it difficult to purchase any jewelry. The selection of CD’s is great, but again, way over-priced. Loved the atmosphere, helpful staff and book variety. I won’t go back as it’s frustrating to see such nice things way over-priced.

The feeling here is more of a book store. You want to be silent when you enter and move softly. They carry a nice selection of self help books that may be harder to find in bigger box book stores. They also carry a nice assortment of oils and candles that are earth friendly. The jewelry is unique and pricey. Staff is friendly and helpful, and parking readily available since this is located in a strip mall. They do sale tea and have a small café‘, but I have never been when it looks as if someone is available to make you something… This part of the store looks like it is intensionally darkened. All and all it is a groovy store.

Okay, I still prefer NAP’s old location in Broadripple, but I am a fan overall. Tucked into the corner of a strip mall on 86th Street New Age People has a great selection of supplies and gifts for pretty much any spiritual leaning. Don’t let the name dissuade you, this is a good place to shop for really cool jewelry, candles and unusual gifty things — even for your pals who would never call themselves«new age» in any way, shape or form. NAP also offers a variety of services and events and classes including massage, intuitive readings and such. My only disappointment with New Age is with regard to its prices — some of the jewelry, though beautiful, seems a bit steep. Ditto with many of the gifts. I know things can’t always remain the same, but it seems that NAP’s move to more upscale digs on the north side is reflected in its prices — kind of a shame for such a valuable resource in this community.
