It’s a very good place to eat at or have a cup of coffee in the IT building. But the staff is very rude, and unprofessional. They need to step it up!

I like to stop in for the smoked salmon bagels, or sometimes a bagel with cream cheese. Honestly, I think the coffee is terrible though. Sometimes they have cups of sliced strawberries with strawberry cream cheese and chocolate sauce, if you are early enough– they are a great treat. If you are hoping to pop in between classes I recommend waiting, the lines can be very very long. I waited about 30 minutes in line once. The workers are not very friendly, but they are usually in a rush I guess because of the crowds. PS if you like salmon, do NOT try the salmon spread for the bagels stick with an actual smoked salmon bagel sandwich, because the spread is really off-putting it tastes like salty hot dog smear blegh!

I have been going to this particular store for about 6 months now(especially in the last 2 weeks with summer classes) but it is definitely not because I want to anymore. If anything, all this store is worth is the convenience of being a place of food and coffee for students and that’s it. I’m sorry to say but if they had another coffee/bagel vendor like this available across the street, I would risk getting hit by a car to go to it instead of this store. The staff is so slow that food/coffee ends up cold when it gets to you, the lines are unmoving during times of necessary quickness, and the attitude of the workers is unbelievable. They ignore students until they are done conversing or arguing, or they fight with customers whenever a complaint is mentioned to them. Just within the past 2 weeks, I have visited this location 5 times(as I have multiple classes in the building it is in) well before they close at 1:30pm to find that they are out of stock on almost everything, everyday. These last 5 times, I have had to leave or be turned away due to this. One employee laughed about their lack of items and loudly pronounced to all who were around that they had ordered turkey that morning(May 19) and«the damn delivery guy» hadn’t even shown up and they were closing down early– again. This morning(May 20) was the last straw to make me want to finally voice a complaint about this location. I had shown up at 12:45pm hoping that at least there would be a couple of bagels left but of course,(not) to my surprise, they were out of everything. Not just a few of leftover the bagels from the bottom of the pile here and there, but the whole counter was bone dry along with all the extra food items. I made the comment«are you guys seriously out of everything??» and one employee helping to close up the store early(again?!), an older black woman with long dreads scoffed at me and flat out told me, «If you want breakfast food, you need to get here during breakfast times instead of running here last minute.» I was so taken back by her attitude I had to walk away before I said anything I would regret later. I understand I may be coming after the breakfast crowd but her response to me was uncalled for. I don’t have time before hand to get food and this short break between coming to campus from a job and going to a 3 hour class is when I am able to finally eat all day. The last thing I need is an insensitive employee to tell me how to go about my business. I love Einstein Bagels. I was so excited when they finally put one in on campus. I love the shmears and the coffee especially. That alone was the only reason I continued to go to this store after all these crap experiences but I can honestly say I will never, ever go here again. I understand it’s a newer location and that they are learning the influx of students that come and go during the summer times, but this has just become unacceptable. I’m not looking for a free handout or anything like that– I just want to tell SOMEONE that this store needs to get their act together. You have a lot of pissed off customers who are sick of it.

Two thumbs up for putting a source of food and coffee in the IT building! It’s about time we got something on this side of campus. I, like my fellow students, are really over going across campus for a coffee just to come straight back. The IU School of Journalism is housed on the 5th floor of the IT building. So, as a journalism student, I spend a good amount of my time in this one building. This is truly a godsend. Bagels and shmear, breakfast sandwiches, soups, lattes — yumyumyum! I’m a fan of their vegetarian Southwest veggie soup with quinoa. Sometimes I’ll splurge on a bagel, but I try not to make a habit of it. Customer service is ok. I don’t expect much for being a campus outlet, but I’ve never had a problem with service. Yes, there’s usually a line, but it goes quick. Stop being so impatient, people. Next step: establish a designated place to sit and eat. I find myself going to the computer lab with my lunch, but I’m sure most people aren’t too keen on plopping down in front of the computer while they eat. There’s always people on the floor, in the hallway, on chairs, stools, lab, all trying to take abreak for lunch. Isn’t there a better way to do this, IUPUI?

What a breath of fresh bagel air! There is a place to eat in the ICTC Building on IUPUI’s campus. No longer will I have to trek to the Law School to get coffee. They have a full menu for such a small foot print. I was surprised. I will say I am NOT a fan of the hours. I would give 5 stars if they were open till 5pm. They do accept JagTag.
