Rib Crib Restaurant

It was good. Brisket was tender and not dry, chix was too. Link was hot. Seasoned fries were very good. ½ ear corn was tasty. Meat didn’t have much smoke flavor but was good. Mild & hot sauces tasted the same and were a bit too spicy for me. New server was ok but they were slow when we were there on a Sunday early evening.

Derrick is the super mgr, who waited on us and spoiled us rotten w/​tlc, a genuine smile and delectable chow. Best BBQ place O/​A that I’ve ever seen! You won’t believe this place!

Always very good food. However had terrible service. Waitress Danielle only visited table once. Had to have someone else even give us our ticket.

Ribs were not good pulled pork was dry and mac n cheese tasted like boxed kraft with powder cheese. Would not recomend. Go to famous Daves much better bbq.

I will admit, this place is somewhat similar to other BBQ chains that you might go to. At the same time, the food is what you come for, and that’s what you get here.
Our waitress was great, and the food was really good. I loved the brisket, it had a very nice smoke ring, and the sauce was better than most. Decent sides too. I really enjoyed it. Also, their desserts here are huge, so if you somehow still have room at the end, enjoy.

First off let me start by saying I haven’t been here in 6 months and so totally was not impressed at all… maybe it was a bad day
We were met quickly and ushered to our booth and the waitress was friendly, but for the place being virtually empty on Sunday at 2 in the afternoon, the attentiveness could have been better…
Here is where i have the issue… I ordered the 2 meat dish… ribs and sliced brisket… our dinner gets brought to us 2 measly ribs and 5 slices of brisket a pickle 4 onion rings and Cole slaw that I can think of 6 bbq joints that their slaw is better.
Did it taste good yes, but the ribs must have been off a malnourished pig, very little meat on the bone. But here is the kicker for me 4 dinners drinks and a child menu meal…78.00 dollars… what…this isn’famous Dave’s, Gates, Jack stack or Oklahoma Joes where we would have got more and not spent that much.
Will I be back: Maybe, but sorry Rib Crib. .I don’t know who bought you all, but you aren’t what you once were…

I am fairly certain rib crib is some sort chain BBQ resteruant. So going in you have to realize it is not true Kansas BBQ. That being said their BBQ is pretty good. The service is decent. All around solid, but missing the certain something to be great.

Phenomenal service. I sat down and had my drink in less than a minute. The only reason I’m not rating it a 5 is because it was all you can eat rib night, so I’m sure they were cranking them out by the truck load and that’s why my food was so coming out so fast. My server was polite, timely, and personable. Overall, a great first time experience. My only knock was I felt sick afterwards… but that was because I stuffed myself with tasty ribs and sides for an hour

I have to tell you, I wanted so badly for this place to be good. I ordered a Carolina pulled pork sandwich and it came out with mayo cole slaw, lettuce and tomato on it. It just didn’t do it for me.
My husband and the husband of the couple we were with both ordered a rack of baby back ribs and they were burnt. That said, they had $ 3 margaritas that were awesome and the service was amazing.
The front of the house is great, the back of the house could use some work.

This was my 3^rd visit to this Rib Crib. I like this chain because they serve a complete meal for a reasonable price. I had the ribs and chicken there were 4 ribs very good quality baby back ribs and several slices of smoked chicken lots of seasoned frys and coleslaw corn on the cob and grilled texas toast all for $ 12.00 this is a very reasonable price for quality BBQ in Kansas City love the décor and the service was quick and friendly

Decent BBQ, but not much other than fried dead animal. If you have vegetarian tendencies, it’s probably not the place for you.

great place to eat, really friendly to veterans. just feed 21 vets there pulled pork and it was delicious. this isnt the first time i ate there i have had there ribs on several occasions and really great service.

Ate there on 12/​26/​2012 for Lunch. 5 of us. Restaurant was not warm but needed coats or jackets to be comfortable.
The service was substandard, the waitress said she did not normally work lunch and did not understand the menu and had to leave several times to get questions answered. Had to hunt her down to help us and get drink refills. They were not busy with only a few tables occupied.
Most of the food was OK but the brisket that I received was tough and not eatable, was replaced with smoked sausage which was OK. Took $ 1 off meal for uneatable brisket. Party that had pulled pork was pleased with the sandwiches, a 3 meat sliced meat platter was enjoyed by the young ones. The salad was good and of a nice size. Fries were fine
I feel there is much, much better BBQ in the area, This is a chain restaurant with chain food and it shows a lack of attention to details, and food quality.
One of our party eats here occasionally and said this was the worst service encountered there in any visit.
The two star rating was due to the service otherwise a two and ½.

I first went here in November of 2007 when I was in town for a meeting and it was next door to my hotel. The locals I was meeting suggested it when picking me up.
So, when my wife and I were pass through the KC area a couple of weeks ago I suggested that we have dinner here. As it happens, Tuesday is there «All U can eat» night and the all u can eat ribs and sides were all of $ 11 pp. So we both went with that.
I ordered the beans and corn on the corn on the cob as my sides.
The ribs were very good and they kept them coming until we finally wave the guy off. The same is true of the beans and the corn. I don’t remember what my wife ordered as here side but I do know she ate a couple of helpings so whatever it was, it must have been good.
I would definitely return when in the area, especially on a Tuesday night!

Ate lunch here. The service was good, the ice tea was excellent! Why is that such a difficult thing anymore? So many places you get iced tea and it’s sour or rancid.
I had the Dynamite Chicken Salad and 1 rib on the side. The salad was good but you’re paying for 2 rolled-​up tortillas with cheese in them that they cut in half. A few pieces of chicken throughout the salad. I ordered this to avoid all that super-​tasty, artery-​hardening, mouth-​watering, gut-​building BBQ. Then I just felt cheated after I ate my one rib I got on the side. The rib was quite adequate. Maybe not the best in town but very tasty.
I’ll be back… for the BBQ.

Had an all you can eat rib festival last night. Tastie food and friendly servers. I would go again.

The food was delicious and plenty of it for the price. I enjoyed their Carolina BBQ sandwich — as far as I know it’s the only place in KC that has any mustard-​based BBQ on their menu.
On the flip side, the service was very slow throughout the whole meal. I had to get up and request our check twice before we were finally able to pay and leave. This may or may not be typical. Would still go back for the food, as long as I wasn’t in any hurry.

We visited this for all you can eat rib night, which is Tuesdays, for 10.99. I’m not sure when that ends.
JC, our waiter, made sure our plates were constantly full of ribs. when he bought out our first plates, there were only 3 ribs (pork ribs, I’d never eat that, but only in a barbecue restaurant. I’m picky that way.)
Our first plate had our sides, and 3 ribs. (at first I thought the all you can eat ribs weren’t worth it if this is all we’d get. I was wrong.) My sides were baked beans and French fries, l but I kind of wish I’d gotten the broccoli, even though the fries were «fire». They were not too thin, and not too spicy, and perfectly cooked. The baked beans were really good, but maybe a bit too cooked. I prefer Zarda’s baked beans.
There were 3 fat ribs on our plates, and 2 pieces of Texas toast. JC didn’t waste time bringing out a plate of more ribs. We finished those, and he bought out more. A total rib binge. We were close to the bathroom, and I commented to my son, I could eat more ribs easily, by, you know… oh it was tempting.
He continually filled our drinks. I had iced tea, my son had Dr. Pepper. The ribs had alot of meat on them, and little fat. They were seasoned, and I could taste the seasoning. Not too salty, just right.
The place filled up pretty quick, and I listened as JC said the exact same phrase, «Our bags are packed, and we are ready to go», to other customers ordering the same thing as we ordered. Cute little catch phrase. I was with my son, but I really wanted a mudslide. Looks great on the menu.
I like Rib Crib, and their sauce is pretty good. It doesn’t beat LC“s, and I’ve not had OK Joe’s.
Both of us paid in cash, and I’ve only paid in cash there. it’s a chain, but I like it.

Visit 19-​Mar-​2011 — Food excellent. Service great at first and slowly diminished to the end.
Tip: watch using a credit or debit card. Auth’d bill on my AmEx for bill under ownership (Bold Ventures LLC) then threw the final under Rib Crib without releasing initial auth. Mgr/​Owner blamed AmEx.
Explained him and his CC co manage auth hold period. Never had this problem anywhere else especially since it’s AmEx and not a debit card. Complaint/​dispute filed with AmEx now.

Very good food. For a party of seven the service was outstanding. From the soups and salads to the baby back ribs, every thing was great!!!
