Beer tasted like the taps hadn’t been cleaned in a while and the bar tender acted like he was high. They ran out of cheese, so I wasn’t able to order anything on the menu with cheese. This place has a lot of potential for a great summer hangout spot, unfortunately it’s not there yet.

I stopped by with a friend one day because she saw a friend of hers. It was very different. Hey open the garage door and have it all open at times. At the side and back they have an open area where they have games and a wood stove burning wood to keep warm outside. So so cool and very different. Never tried he drinks but it was a nice place for sure. It’s located at the top of the park downtown independence.

Drinks are pricey and just ok, however the place itself has the potential to be fun with all the outside games. My friend ordered a Coors light, she was told they didn’t have any and if she wanted to wait they would run across the street to the corner market and get her one!, heck we could have done that and skipped going to the BAR! The music was offensive rap style and way way too loud.

This was a fun place to get a couple drinks. No hard liquor, limited microbrewery and a slim menu. We found a couple drinks to enjoy. Best part is sitting outside with personal firepit overlooking Independence city park. On top of that one dessert is smores you roast yourself! It reminded me of a beach bar in Puerto Rico. They have cards and a few games you can play too.

Small menu and not a lot on tap. They got some new sun blinds which were badly needed, but that doesn’t help the parking situation in front of their bar. It’s an accident waiting to happen with the location. I also never got my ID checked and was served alcohol. I am appalled that my ID was checked as I am a small person who normally gets checked when I walk into the bar section of a restaurant or within a minute of entering a normal bar. Edit: apparently this is the most ridiculous review someone has read on Unilocal.Kind of sad that someone would think so when others have said the same things about ID and small menus. A new notice is up in the parking lot of the convenience store across the street about not parking there if you go to the bar. They WILL tow you. I’ve seen it happen several times. Just a heads up for anyone who goes!

The place was nice but no one checked my ID and I did not get any service at all so I left. I was siting there for 15 min and the place did not even have that many people.

Good quesadillas and nachos. The gift certificate from halfpriceoregon has the address but no phone number or hours of operation.

Wish they had a bigger menu, but the menu tastes amazing. Loved hanging here, so much to do & great taps

Great location and very good idea, but not run as well as could be. The staff on my visit last Friday were just odd. Enjoyed a beer at the bar before the live music in the park and found the young woman and man(bf and gf, maybe?) running the place to be a little paranoid and vaguely confrontational. Too bad. Such a perfect spot to hang out if they can get the service right. Should be fun in the summer.

You can sit outside and drink microbrews by your own personal firepit, next to the riverfront park! Mecanico is a great little bar with a fun, retro atmosphere, complete with a record player. It’s an old gas station/auto mechanic shop(hence the name), so the big garage doors can be opened up to bring the outside in. There are only a few things on the menu, like quesadillas, sausages and potato salad, but the food is delicious!

What’s not to like about this place? Your own personal fire pit overlooking the Willamette? Good drinks and a limited but tasty food menu? An excellent reused space that you can bring your friendly dog to as well!

My husband and I saw this funky, cute little bar while traveling the back way between W Salem and Albany. We turned around and went back because it was so eye catching. It’s a bar in an old, 1950’s style gas station; open air, outdoor games and fire pits, and modern, industrial style. It reminded me of a coffee shop or bar you’d find in Austin TX. They had a few local yummy beers. They are just starting and the kitchen is small– we didn’t try any food. It has so much potential and is in a great location on the edge of the main park in town. The bar tender Keith was friendly and awesome. We may just come back to this tiny Oregon town to bring friends to this bar.
