Salty Frog

I thought this was a pretty good dive bar. My friends and I stopped by around 11 on a Saturday. They had live music and pool tables in the back. Vibe was pretty chill and music definitely made it better.

This has always been a solid and consistent option for a cold beverage and catching up in the Imperial Beach area. Generally fairly clean and well-​managed, you’ll find a good selection of imported and domestic ales, as well as decent and strong cocktails for those so inclined. The big attraction here has always been the selection of booze-​enhanced games like giant Jenga, shuffleboard and pool. Although I’ve always liked the Scoreboard for my IB dive-​bar visits, the Frog is probably a notch up for atmosphere and top-​notch service. Speaking of top-​notch service, the ice in the urinals is a pretty strong selling point. Listen, I see a couple of reviews complaining about the saltiness of this place. For those of you candy-​assed germophobes and skinny-​jeans wearers (hey– give your sister her pants back!), I would suggest a trip to your local Chili’s bar, Paddy O’Shenanigans or some other lame-​ass, totally fake (and sterile– Yay!) commercialized hologram of a bar. This is a real dive bar, and yes, it’s… salty. It’s the freaking SALTY FROG! Have a pint or three, and make sure to Check In on arrival– You’ll get a half price and quite chilly cerveza! Recommended.

Free pool tables, cold beer, and karaōke on some nights. The age group is mostly young adults.

Cool bar! Free shuffleboard and cheap drinks. Bartender was awesome and the entertainment came from the karaōke machine in the corner. Will def come again.

Not my type of place I would go by myself, but when you go with some cousins and friends its really cool, i like it

So glad I ended up here last night. Even though it was a slow Monday evening at this bar, both my best friend and I managed to have a blast. «Kanai”(sorry if misspelled) our bartender was amazing and a pleasure to converse with; will definitely come back.

Ultra friendly staff and decent drink prices — check out Toss It Tuesday! They were having comedy finals the other night with five comedians competing, plus two more… they have a Bloody Mary bar sometimes and a great jukebox… hop on over to the Frog!

Good bar with great music. The owner is as cool as any. He works hard to provide the best service. Love this place. I visit when I wanna hear good music/​comedy. Big shot out to Justin who bar tends here. Very professional and easy going. Great multitasking.

First time I was here it was ok. Bar tender was a cool guy. Drinks were good. But the band was crap. Mexican Rasta band… Lol
Second time they were out of everything I asked for. So I settled for a beer. But it was so boring we left after I drank it.
It’s clean and atmosphere is nice, but the regulars are a bit older and it always seems like it’s empty.
They need to hire a promoter to draw in some fresh people.

Best Entertainment in Town. Great Staff. It’s like the real liife version of «Cheers’ except with the ⁹³³⁄₉₃₄ getting a pop-​in appearance every 12 – 15 minutes (30 – 45 weekends). BEST COMEDY SHOW in town three years running. ;)

All ways a chill ass time here at the salty frog ! They have FREE hot dogs and nachos on certain days and awesome live bands Saturday nights !

Nice place to chill during the week. Everyone is pretty friendly, and it doesn’t get so loud so you can still hold a conversation with someone. Probably one of my fav places to hang out in IB.

Went there tonight with a friend, had a great time and didn’t even stay that long! I am very new to the area and got there kinda late but I was welcomed in with open arms! Totally dive bar which is the best kind of bar! Casual and no need to dress to impress, beachy atmosphere. The IB area doesn’t have a lot to offer but Salty Frog’s for sure blows Scoreboard and other bars out of the water.
The bartenders are all chill, the female bartenders are nice and helpful and the one male bartender that was there tonight was sweet and helpful (and cute), anyone know his name? Scruffy guy, super nice lol!!! Drinks were cheap and quick and most of all the glasses were clean!!!
If your looking for a good time, stop by. I didn’t use it but I guess they have a shuttle that will take the drunks home if they need it. Pretty cool thing to offer, unique!

the male bartenders are kind and friendly, the females have a bit of an attitude. Its a bar girls smile, giggle work the bar thats how you make money honey. you missed out on many tips from me I am a good tipper. The bar is a dive, same faces all the time and everyone is friendly. if you call in advance they will pick you up in the frog van! on the weekend but call ahead and tip the driver! Cmon and dont forget the take you home IB only
