Cool little place to visit and peruse around. The store is very small and has a very limited display of assorted candies, they have a small cooler with a few different root beers and some old skool toys which are fun to see. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive, worth a stop if in town.

Lets see, what did this place do right. They have a crazy selection of soda, anything from microbrew independant type sodas to old favorites that are impossible to find elsewhere, like Jolt. It is one of only two places in the state of California that I’ve found Fitz’s soda, from St. Louis! They have a tasty section of candy, much of which is the classics like rock candy and pop rocks. They have an awesome selection of toys, much of which is also the classics! I saw army men, marbles, Jacob’s ladders, and a whole slew of terrible gag things like burp powder. I think the best part were the two owners, they’re the nicest people ever and seemed genuinely happy to have people perusing the items and finding things that reminded them of childhood or things to make childhood memories for the next generation of kids. Overall an awesome shop that made me feel happy just stepping inside.

I found Jolt Soda here. I have tried Bug Barf, Zombie Brain Juice and Toxic Slime. My kids like the toys and the candy too. This is a totally fun shop. You can buy a spud gun, fake ice cubes with bugs or handcuffs. Right in the main drag of town.

This place was awesome, not only where the shop workers extremely nice and talkative but the shop was well maintained and had many toys that were complete flashbacks from my childhood. They had some of the harder to find toys, including Gumby! They were talking about the different sorts of efforts they take to find these toys and it reflects on the products they have on the shelves. If you really want to take a look into the past and be reminded of some childhood memories… This is the place!

I walked into this establishment and was pleasantly surprised to find out… they have salt water taffy!!! Had to load up the bag full of different flavors. After this I walked around the store and seeing all the old games/toys I remember from my childhood brought a smile to my face.

What a sweet place! They had an area with toys for little ones to play with. Tons of toys for sale from my childhood. All reasonably priced. People inside the shop were super nice. Looking forward to visiting again! Thank you Soda pop & sweet shop!

This place has been in Idyllwild since I was a kid. Love it :) You can always get button candy and a variety of root beer and cream soda. So yummy. Trying to add some toys to my registry from here, but can’t find a website for it!

This shop has a nice selection of toys and candy that I(or my mom) remember from childhood. They also have a wall covered with a variety of sodas in GLASS bottles. These aren’t just the common sodas either. My son loves the blue cream soda, and the salesperson suggested an unusual huckleberry soda for me, which I thoroughly enjoyed. They also stock all of the sodas in coolers so you can get a cold drink right away. While my boys were oohing and aahing over all the toys and candy, the salesperson asked where we were from and where we were staying. I am glad she did, because one of my sons left behind some bottlecaps he had chosen from the container they fall into when you use their bottle opener. She was nice enough to call the place we were staying and passed along a message that we had left the bottle caps behind. What amazing service! I have been there on previous trips to Idyllwild, and I will definitely go back.

This is the coolest shop you will ever walk in to in your life. If you disagree, delete your Unilocal account and go destroy some other reviewing community. This shop is stocked to the brim with seemingly hundreds of unique and cool sodas(from soda breweries around the country), as well as hundreds of classic toys and gifts that will tempt you while you sip your ice cold drink. I was with a group that spent a week just outside of town, and we came in to town a few times Specifically to get sodas from this shop! Ask the people behind the counter, they know what they sell and what tastes the best. Why Oh Why do you have to be located so far from downtown LA? I love this shop. By the way, they do a four-pack discount if you’re buying singles from the fridge.

This neat little store is a blast from the past. They have a small train table filled with various toys that the kids can play wirh as you stroll around the store. There are tons of old school and candies here. Do you remember those authentic looking gum/candy cigarettes from the 70s? How about licorice mustaches, Razzles, Sugar Daddys, and Lemonheads? They are all here just waiting to take you back to your youth. They also keep every soda they have on display available in the fridge so you can drink it ice cold. I bought an orange cream – it tasted just like a 50 – 50 bar. I greatly enjoy going to this store and taking my two young sons there each time we visit Idyllwild. I find the prices to be reasonable. It’s a fun store!

So when you first walk in a lil overwhelming. Lots and lots of old school toys and what nots. Want to take a walk down childhood memory lane? Go here from gumbie to a cap gun it’s here. But to my surprise there is well over 75 bottled sodas to try with an extensive array of sugar free sodas too! I of course kept it simple and old school with a Dr. pepper. Talk about a party in my mouth. It was a special moment for sure. My bf went with wierd hawaiian soda that was suprisingly pungent with grapefruit flavor. Both great choices. Will def come back to try more sodas! Stop by if you are a soda snob or wanting to have a party in your mouth!

An impressive array of sodas chilled and ready for imbibing. Dozens of varieties of less ubiquitous candies(maple bun, anyone?) All the coke paraphernalia you could ever want(the drink, that is.) When I first moved back to LA after being in the military, I had a set of 8 coke glasses. Most were promptly destroyed in the Northridge earthquake, and the rest have been steadily broken by my wife over the years. I was able to get a new set of 5 here, so I’m a happy dude until the next major earthquake, which should be along shortly.
