Just went back for a second visit to this place. Ha… Grandpa Red did remember us from our last visit. Its nice chatting with him. He’s the one who gave us the tip about eating awesome burgers at The Lumber Mill. We were able to sample his new jerky addition… Sweet & Spicy Brisket. Walked away with a pack of that as well as another pack of candy jerky. We ended up buying the peach liquorice I had mentioned in my last review. Yay!!! Half of it was gone after the 2 hour car ride home. I was able to snap a picture of the«business hours». Cute, isnt it?

Plain and simple. This is not the place to go for Jerky. WHEN I WASTHERE. Poor selection. Poor quality. Business does not produce their own product. Re-sells other’s product(s) DOESNOTOFFERSAMPLEOFWHATTHEYSELL(completely UNACCAPTABLE). For the prices they charge per ounce(which would appear to be on everage), one would expect a superbly crafted gourmet product. This is just another one of those touristy traps that there are all too many of in Idyllwild.

Awesome selection of meats. Excellent variety of flavors. Terrific friendly people, family owned and operated.

The owner was extremely helpful and nice. I purchased the spicy beef jerky and corn nuts, both were great. The jerky was very tender and flavorful and the corn nuts were addicting. They also had some unique jerky such as boar and buffalo.

Unilocal erroneously states that this place is closed… Anyway, it’s a small store that resells Beef Jerky. The sign on the store says Grandpa’s Jerky but it’s really just House of Jerky. They used to have a location in Old Town San Diego, which had a much better selection than this place. All I saw here was Beef and Turkey. None of the exotics. Sweet and Spicy is one of the better tasting Jerky flavors they sell. Anyway, there are other«things» for sale at this store, but the Jerky was the only item worth buying.
