Love this store. Today I ordered a bunch of one kind of candy knowing they are a decent price. She put the wrong things in my bag. The charge was way bigger than I expected. I walked outside looked inside to see the wrong thing and walked right back in. Should be getting exactly half back of what I spent and all she said she could do was give me and ice cream bar, candy or a gift card because that’s policy when really I know it’s because she ran my card and it’s too complicated. Maybe double check before you throw all the candy in the bag that those are what I wanted.

What a fun place!!! They have a huge selection of handmade candies as well as nostalgic and retro candy. They also make hand-​dipped ice cream bars, candy apples, frozen bananas, and frozen cheesecake slices. Definitely stop in, but be advised that it’s a very tiny shop (although there are some seats outside to the side of the building), and it seems they don’t sell drinks of any kind, other than the shaved ice.

Back on the weekend — again, a pund of chocokate honeycomb and truffles later i was chocolate bliss. Great truffles and chocolates. Creamier and rich. So enjoyed this little old candy store.

I LOVE the Candy Cupboard! They have the world’s best hand dipped ice cream bars, frozen bananas, and shave ice. Just the initial smell when you walk into the store makes you want to order everything on the menu. The chocolate, the old fashioned candy, everything they serve is deserving of a 5 star rating. We come here every single trip up to Idyllwild and it’s not expensive. I wish they had this in my hometown. Always a loyal customer :)

This candy store has everything! Candy from your childhood, truffles, chocolate, ice cream, snow cones, etc. it is very impressive. Only criticism is that it is tiny inside and packed on the weekends. You will see a line out the door. Amazing selection.

A small mom and pop store with the most amazing candy! I got the handmade vanilla ice cream bar dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in roasted almonds. And let me tell you it was delicious. If you ever come to Idyllwild this place is a must for dessert.

Every time we come up to Idyllwild we always stop in for some candy after our lunch elsewhere in town. Each time we’ve come in, we have left happy! And that’s the point of a candy shop right?!
On this particular occasion, we got the following items: 1 milk chocolate orange crème piece, 1 milk chocolate raspberry crème piece, 1 milk chocolate mocha crème piece, 2 dark chocolate peanut butter cups, and 1 Olaf Pez dispenser! First off, can you tell I love milk chocolate! The husband likes the dark stuff and the kid obviously got the dispenser, though we did steal a few for quality control haha.
The staff member even came out from behind the counter (which is hard, trust me the shop is so cute but so tiny!) to help my daughter choose between Olaf, Anna, and try and find an Elsa.
For sure, every time we stop into town, we’ll be going in for some candy!
(PS I was so excited to eat my candies, I only got a shot of the last piece as the others were long ago devoured)!

I’m 55 years old and the Candy Cupboard is the best candy shop I’ve ever been in in my life! Hand made candies, dipped ice cream bars, shaved ices plus all my favorites from childhood! Are you kidding me. How they fit all this stuff in here amazes me. Tiny shop with big smiles and friendly service in the middle of rustic picturesque downtown idyllwild. Anyone who says different is someone who just can’t be pleased. Must must must go every time I’m up there!

Adorable. A-​dolor-​a-​ble. Great hand dipped ice cream, amazing cheesecake on a stick and a awesome variety of vintage candy. It gets pretty busy obviously since there isn’t much around, but it is worth the waits.

Great hard to find candy selection — we went bananas on sweet treats that we have never seen.
We decided to do the ice cream on a stick too. Be warned: two people could honestly split one of these things. They have a variety of toppings, either chocolate or vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was a disappointment — it was really bland.
The staff was awesome and upbeat.

Old times candy shop filled with candied confections and hand scooped ice cream. I just got one thing: a giant carmel apple. It was really good and enough for two to share. Total was $ 5.50 so right up there with Disneyland. It’s a touristy place.

Bars are what my family and I go for. I recommend the frozen banana with peanut brittle crunch or the vanilla ice cream dipped in mint chocolate. Great and friendly service behind the counter.

Tourist-​pricey, but you get what is rarely ever served anywhere; old-​fashioned frozen, dipped, chocolate Cheesecake, rolled in Almonds… OMG. Perfect, for a hot day! Try the frozen Banana and Caramel Apples too! Last time I had a frozen Cheesecake, was at Disneyland’s Main Street Candy Shop… and it was an outrageous $ 8.00!!!
I LOVE this kind of ice cream so much… you’ll see me eating this even in a snowstorm!!!

This place looks cool and is cool until you’re rung up! A bit pricey, but a great experience in a great location. I popped in with a sweet tooth during the harvest festival and purchased 2 milk chocolate caramel cashew cluster which made me feel merry for nearly $ 7…ouch.
It’s a little small and tight when busy, but it’s a candy store… if you’re not getting anything, well, get out lol.
They have a little bit of everything for everyone. They definitely add a nice touch to the town… I felt like a star on an episode of little house on the prairie. If it wasn’t so cold I would have gotten one of their specialty hand dipped ice cream bars. Check it out… they have something for you. This I am sure :)

Candy Cupboard is tiny. I waited in a long line for a snow cone. I finished the snow cone at the lemon lily festival and i couldnt get the hand dipped ice cream out of my mind so i went back and stood in a long line and waited for that.
The snow cone was perfect and refreshing small size for under $ 2 and u get 2 flavors,
For under $ 4 u get a hand dipped ice cream bar. These are what’s special about this place. A bar of vanilla ice cream is rolled in your choice of roasted nuts or sprinkles.
The freshness of the roasted nuts was amazing. I had mine rolled in roasted peanuts and it was so fragrant and delicious. I was expecting Haagen daz quality but this way so much better. Tasted like old fashioned home made.
A special old fashioned treat up in idyllwild. Don’t miss it if your up here.

Licorice pipes, Slap Stix, Fudge, Crocodile gummies are just a few of the sweet novelties you can buy here. This place is small but stuffed with sweets. They specialize in home made fudge, truffles, chocolate dipped items, retro candy, and apples. Ice cream seemed to be what everyone was ordering,
Must stop if your have kids that have been well behaved on the trip :)
