Service needs improvement. I have sat in the back room twice now and received very poor service. This last time we just got up and left. Two servers walked by our table 4 times for a total of 16 opportunities to acknowledge us, even if they couldn’t get our drinks orders yet. Nothing, they looked and kept walking by. We left and the hostess even said nothing to us. The food is good, but Surin needs to train their wait staff. We went to Luciano’s instead and were greeted by three people in less than a minute, even though they couldn’t help us right away, they acknowledged us and said they would be with us.

This is a decent place to have some Thai food. My mother had a grilled chicken with shrimp salad(which is pictured). I thought they were a little light with just the 2 shrimps and a few grilled chicken pieces, but overall it was an ok salad with a seasoned rice vinegar style dressing that was filling. I had the vegetable and tofu Panang cooked in red curry paste, coconut milk and basil. It had a nice creamy coconut milk curry taste as you would expect. Each came with a bowl of rice and a bowl of soup which was coconut milk with mushroom in lemongrass flavored soup that was tasty but I feel it could’ve been even more flavorful based on other Thai soups that I’ve had before. It’s a nice-looking place, a great-looking bar, but it didn’t really impressed me overall — no «wow» factor with anything we had, but it’s a decent Thai restaurant in the area if you need to get your fix.

Good food, great service, excellent drinks. The vanilla martini was so tasty. The food was a bit forgettable but not bad in anyway.

Super fun martinis! Great sushi. I really enjoy their curry dishes and tend to have leftovers to enjoy 2 days in a row, ha! Great location, good atmosphere and good service.

The food was not good. The experience was horrible. They had staff cleaning their mats near our table. Meat was dry and tasteless. Sauces were so gross looking and tasted bad. I love Thai, but this was just bad. The manager did not even care. Guess they won’t care if we never come back.

I went with a girlfriend recently for her birthday and I loved it! The Ginger Chicken was so flavorful that I couldn’t stop eating it… I always have to have a to go plate but not from here… it was way to yummy to leave on the plate! My friend loved it too. We did order martinis which were quiet strong and expensive so I wouldn’t do that again but the plate of food was priced right for the amount.

I am not a fan of Surin’s in Huntsville. I lived in Atlanta for over twenty years and loved Surin’s in Atlanta(Virginia Highlands). I never had a bad meal while living in Atlanta but my experience here in Huntsville has not been very good. The service is fair at best and my food is always cold. It seems they cannot keep a good wait staff. I would not recommend to anyone in Huntsville!

I have been to Thai restaurants of which I am not fond as finding food that is very good seems hard to come by. Surin of Thailand in Huntsville is not one of those restaurants. Whenever I have been absent from Huntsville for a period of time, having lunch at Surin is always toward the top of places to eat. The trout is excellent. I never though of trout as being a Thai dish but, whether it is or not, the macadamia encrusted trout is outstanding. The rice is always sticky and the sauce is outstanding. Chicken curry is also well worth trying. The rice in the curry sauce is also good enough so that I always clean the plate. I have not seen the coconut soup routinely served in other Thai restaurants. It is served here. At time, I will order this soup and the warm chicken salad. The chicken is not diced with mayonnaise, etc. added. It is real strips of warm chicken served on lettuce and greens that are always fresh. The restaurant can get loud. It has expanded over the past few years and some of the acoustics are not the most desirable. I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the Thai in this food. But, it tastes great and, for most Americans, that is probably authentic enough.

Hostess was either ingenuine or just really shy but Jared the server was outstanding! Our drinks never ran dry, our food came out at a good pace(3 different courses), and it was very delicious! I had trout and my husband had a lunch combo sushi thing. We had the egg rolls as an app which were light, flaky and perfectly crisp. Surin is great!

I’ve been to this restaurant a bunch. The food here is great but lately the service has been unpredictable. Sometimes they are on top of things and other times its been bad. At lunch the Chicken Noodle Bowl is really good. For dinner the Chicken Panang is good. Super Crunch sushi is really tasty.

Good food, service was ok but nothing to write home about. Coming from Hawaii it is hard to rate THAI food against Opals on Oahu but if you need a Thai fix in Huntsville it will do. We did not try the sushi but it looks good.

I used to live in Seattle, where exceptional Thai food could be found just about on every street corner. I got a little spoiled. Traveling to the Huntsville area for work, on my last day of the trip I was treated to a torrential downpour. That combined with the typical«4th day on the road» fugue of too much(amazing) fried southern food and too much beer, lead me to some Unilocal roulette to find something different to eat. Surin of Thailand won the day. It’s in a strip mall setting, and so dark it looked like it was closed. Contrast that with smiling faces, great service, and a genuinely caring staff. Food-wise, I ordered Panang curry and Maker’s on the rocks. I ordered the spiciest they could do, and it came out about 3⁄5 stars, but the flavor was great. I also eavesdropped on a gent dining alone at the bar. He ordered a martini like he knew his way around a gin bottle, and was very happy with the bartender’s creation. Overall — service is 4 stars, food is 3 stars for what I tried. Check it out.

Second time at this particular facility. Couldn’t leave town with bad thai taste. This place is always busy, and the variety of choices in the menu does not disappointing either. The tea was great! 5 starts on that, perfect combination of tea and cream. However the summer roll was lacking in flavors, the sauce helped but finding a shrimp inside after toy

Try: Tiger Cry Steak(NOT a lunch special) Chicken Masaman(Lunch special) These are my two favorites. The Tiger Cry Steak may be the best steak in Huntsville, with the spicy au jus they serve with it, it melts in your mouth and is absolutely delicious. My girl loves their Lemondrop Martini’s, I’m kind of happy about what they do to her :-)

Surin: It’s THE Thai/sushi place in Huntsville. Or maybe it’s the OTHER Thai/sushi place… depending on whether or not you like what Phuket has going on. Sure, I know Thai Garden is generally considered the authority on authentic Thai in Huntsville but I never got the warm fuzzies there. So for me, if it’s Thai and near Huntsville… I’m going to Surin. In fact, I’ve been going to Surin since maybe 2004 although I used to see it in Atlanta in the Highlands all the time. The Huntsville spot was my first real visit since 1) Thai food was limited ten years ago and 2) many other options in ATL. Anywho… Surin has been a steady dose of general curries with a few dishes that stand out. Of the tried and true, the duck curry is a great intro dish for someone who’s leary about Thai. The Thai tea however is FARTOOSWEET. The sushi is solid and better than what you’d get at a lot of other places that are«sushi» bars. Also, try the larb. They’ve expanded the space now so there’s a much quieter option for dining with open tables and even cosy(?) booths. So if you have a need to not yell at your lunch companions… ask to be seated in the new area. I’m not sure how one you’re going to be able to get away with calling it «new, «however.

Surin is my favorite thai restaurant here in huntsville. I love their chicken panang in particular. The best panang i ever had. My husband is a fan of their shrimp curry. Would definately keep visiting this place

Love the sushi. Good portions and very tasty. Had the #4 and #3 sushi combos and can recommend them both. The spicy beef salad and BBQ chicken is also outstanding and very satisfying. Always with a dirty martini! Good food but I think the authentic Thai flavors are hiding in something I haven’t tried.

The Good: The main dishes were pretty satisfying overall. I got the chicken curry and my wife got the Thai noodles(pad Thai). The portion sizes were appropriate, definitely didn’t leave hungry. Service was nice and always around when you needed them. The Bad: The menu didn’t seem well structured and it didn’t look like there was any type of theme to the dishes. It kind of looked like the menu creator got a little over excited with a 1998 version of windows word art… That 1998 word art theme also seemed to translate to the overall décor and ambiance of the restaurant. Let’s say that it could use an update. And the Sushi: We got a roll of sushi for starters, and it probably was some of the worst I’ve had. We also got crunchy squid(calamari); also pretty weak. I’m not sure if it was poor quality sea food or the preparation, but the two seafood items we got were sub-par. Overall: I was not upset or dissatisfied after leaving, I just was not really impressed. I’m excited to try out the other Thai places before coming back.

We ate there as a last ditch effort to squeeze in a meal before our date to Spirited Art, and we were not disappointed. Having suffered through a meal at Surie in Madison, we did not have high hopes. Before continuing, I do have to mention two things: 1.) The best Thai food in town is still Thai Garden in five points. 2.) This place is eerily similar to Phuket in ambiance, decoration, and menu selection. Not sure what the connection is between them, but there’s a connection somewhere without a doubt. That being said, my wife enjoyed her Thai noodles and I enjoyed the barbecue chicken, but I wouldn’t necessarily order either again. The Curries smelled nice, so that would likely be my choice next time. I can’t do pad Thai as my only food, so I wouldn’t recommend the Thai noodles as an entrée, but my wife liked them fine. We plan on going back as it’s close to our church and a few other things we enjoy, but it’s not at the highest priority.
