I love this restaurant! I eat here at least once a week. The Panang Curry and The Green Curry are delicious! Great specials throughout the week and an amazing staff! Note: I tried this when they first opened and I wasn’t super impressed, but they have definitely improved in every category. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I sat outside which has pretty lights and relaxing. Our service was great. We showed up at 5:45 and our server rushed out to tell us that happy hour ended in 15 minutes and handed us all the happy hour specials. A lot of places will not tell you or take their time so you don’t get a good deal. We were able to order our drinks and half off apps and sushi rolls. I enjoyed the dumplings, Godzilla roll, and the drunken noodle. The food wasn’t spectacular, but I would definitely return because of service, atmosphere, and to try more!

Not bad. Good ½ price happy hour deals. Service was decent enough and the food is okay for me. There is better sushi in Huntsville. We had two rolls, drunken noodle bowl and dumplings. The drunken noodle bowl was the best part, I would stick with one of those if I was you. Dumplings were a little dry and the sushi was average. Really nice area and location but the food could definitely be a lot better. Worth a visit if you’re from Huntsville. If coming out of town try somewhere else.

This place is extremely mediocre. I went for dinner when they first opened and the sushi and noodle dish that I ordered was extremely bland. I went back a second time hoping it would be better and it was worse. The food was more bland and tasteless than the first visit. Save your time and go to I love sushi or surin.

OK, I returned to AR hoping for a better experience this time. Also had a Living Social coupon so I thought if it disappointed at least I’d save a few bucks. My wife had the«pork ribs» appetizer, which was just about a half dozen chunks of a cut of pork they call pork steaks in the midwest(can’t find them in the south). They were doused in some kind of tangy sauce — which was the hilight of the dish. A really poor value for $ 13 for an app. We also had 2 sushi rolls, which were mediocre at best. The poor menu and food execution is really a shame because this place has an excellent location and great facility, but it’s hard to imagine it surviving with food of the quality you’d expect from a TGIFs. Not going back until I hear if they have new ownership or at least a new chef. I will say that at happy hour, you can save a couple bucks off the house wines, which are reasonable.

While I like that they are actually adding veggies and fruit to their dishes, as it should be, but the food was just«eh». The breading on the Sweet & Sour Pork was mushy as was the rice. Ive had all kinds of asian food from all over and thought AL was finally getting some decent Thai food. I’m sorry to say, I was wrong. Very disappointing, indeed!

I’ve been to AR several times, mostly after getting my hair done around the corner to meet a friend for a quick social hour and sushi at the bar. Decent wine selection and happy hour but I don’t recall the happy hour specials. Had dinner here for the first time this week as part of a party of 14 for my best friend’s b’day. The service(albeit a tad slow, meaning drink orders were taken, then it seemed like days before dinner orders were taken, but everything else was well done, service-wise) was really good, they accommodated the large group very well. Dear hubs and I both ordered the«hot and sour soup» for an app and the Asian styled BBQ pork sandwich with a kimchee topping/sauce and a side of Asian cole slaw. Wow, the soup disappointed and I heart some hot and sour soup. I’m used to the won ton’s being stale. I can get past that issue, however, this soup was *not* hot and sour. It was like egg drop soup with some odd matchstick cut carrots and noodly sticks stuck in it. Even the color was off! It was brownish. Oh, and the salt! I was so happy they kept the ice waters filled! Dear hubs commented that the soup tasted«straight from a packet» — those dehydrated packets you get on the spice aisle. Meh. The pork sandwich was good. It was oddly sweet, but tender. The kim chee was undetectable and the slaw was good. Bar staff are friendly, front patio is really nice and shaded and the Manager is a friendly presence in the restaurant.

Went here for lunch. I had sushi and my friend had a grilled chicken wrap. Both were very good and the salads were bountiful. Great ginger dressing. Coronas were $ 5 which is a bit off putting… also the service was a little strange… multiple people waiting on us and they seemed a bit confused. Overall it was good and I’ll go back. 4 stars because of the service issue.

Asian Rim is one of our favorites! We order lots of take out and have eaten there several times. The food has always been great and the service has been good! We are thrilled to have sushi & Thai food in this area. Before, we had to go to Jones Valley every time we wanted Asian food. Try it, it’s great!

It takes a great meal to knock my socks off and make me write a five star review and Asian Rim did exactly that! This place had great food, beverage and service and next time in Huntsville I’m heading to Asian Rim for dinner, lunch… hey if they’re open I’m going! Try the bbq pork with kimchi sandwich, or the smoked salmon with sea salt. They were amazing dishes.

Very good, attentive service which is what I’m most worried about. Tom kha soup was great as well as the cilantro miso. We ordered the Panang Curry and Mussaman Curry. Both were excellent. This place outdoes Surin for me because of its excellent cleanliness. Next time we will order the sushi because it sounds amazing and there was a huge selection. Four out of five stars because it’s a little pricey. Other than that, wonderful eatery!

The atmosphere is very reminiscent of IHOP with the fluorescent lighting of a WalMart. The food was average at best. The service was very slow and food did not come out correct. The manager was walking around in a hoodie which seemed quite inappropriate for a restaurant that is striving to be upscale. If you’re looking for this type of food, Surin is a much better option.

Go to surin or Thai garden and save yourself the disappointment. Food was average. Service average. Ambience is average. This place could be awesome but it’s not.

Ate lunch here on Sat. A few tables full. Not crowded. Menu is not extensive for lunch. We chose the Thai section for our meal. Dumplings for appetizer were some of the best we have ever eaten. Light and tasteful. Entrée comes with soup or salad. We had salad and hot and sour soup. Both were good, but salad was outstanding. Large and full of various tastes. Had Pad Thai and Massaman curry. Both were good. Order extra spicy if you like heat. Waiter was attentive and responsive. Will definitely add this to our restaurant rotation.

Visited the first time about a week after opening. Service was terrible but gave them benefit of the doubt since they were new. Food was OK but nothing special, especially for the price. Really outrageous saki price for quantity. Decided to try again. Service was much better, food worse! Soup was good. Sushi? don’t waist your money! It looked like a 3 year old made it. The sushi reminded me of a lower end grocery store attempt. Seriously. It was NOT made to order or the ingredients were low end., yuk! There is much better sushi in Huntsville. We won’t go back for food. The bar has a nice atmosphere and over all the décor is really great. It’s too bad the food doesn’t match and is way over priced for what you get.

If you see my other reviews, you’ll know that Asian is a go-to cuisine for me in Huntsville. So paint me pink with excitement when I heard about Asian Rim opening in the new shoppalooza construction near Huntsville hospital. I finally stopped in yesterday for-you guessed it-late lunch to talk shop and see why Unilocalers have been tearing this place a new sushi hole. On entry… it’s immediately beautiful… but it lasts only a moment. Once you get past the beautiful Chinese vase it becomes, well, Huntsville. My lunch crew made a comment«it has all the coolness of a high school lunch room»… referring to the main dining area. My guess? Startup budget ran dry. But it’s no bad, it just doesn’t have a signature look. Blue and pine colored woods with no notable geometry but lots of natural light… which is a shame because you can do so much with… Natural light. But this isn’t an architect design review. The food: for starters I had the duck egg spring rolls. Nice, savory and earthy… aided by mushrooms and balanced by the soy dipping sauce(which you don’t need much of). The saucy shrimp appetizer is… meh. It’s that same thing everybody from Bonefish to Changs to Cheesecake Factory to(name any other chain attempting fried gooey shrimp) does with sweet battered shrimp over lettuce. It’s kinda like when you realize what real general Tso ‘s chicken is; the knock-off never is the same. My advice to Asian Rim, keep the duck rolls, put the shrimp out to sea. For an entrée, I went with the miso Sea Bass accompanied by spinach and wasabi mashed potatoes. My inner Eric Ripert said«non!» to the wasabi potatoes but… there weren’t many good alts. So I went with it. The result? No wasabi taste, good mashed potatoes… but definitely not a match for sea bass. The sea bass itself was a B+ in my book. The spinach was DEE — licious. Go figure. So what’s the highlight of Asian Rim? The drink menu. They have a few versions of a French 75. Try them all. The(something) Dragon was a nice citrus cocktail but my favorite was the Hong Kong sunrise… coconut liqueur, orange juice, rum and… just try it. I’ll migrate back to see if the sushi holds water and whether or not the Thai stands a chance but for now I’ll say this place has a lot of potential, but so do giant rocks on the side of a mountain. Asian Rim would benefit from a real identity and not trying to appease the mainstream crowd in Huntsville; most won’t care but the ones that do(and likely keep the doors open) will care immensely. Of course I could be dead wrong… Cheddars is a hit in this town.

I shouldn’t have read the Unilocal reviews right when we were seated. Completely colored my opinion but the service made up for it. When we arrived early on a Saturday night it was pretty dead. The menu is quite extensive-Thai…Sushi…steak…I thought maybe after parking that it was just a hotel restaurant. It was very clean, spacious, and well designed except for the odd chair seat covers(blue). No clues on parking so we parked in what appeared to be hotel parking deck.(They have«complimentary» valet parking.). I find it refreshing that a new restaurant carries local craft beer! Both HSV and BHM were represented along with other domestic brands. My dinner companion ordered Kendall Jackson cab which they were out of. My other dinner companion ordered a Cosmo(on the tart side) and it looked like a martini with allot of lime. Later she ordered Pinot Griggio and had to correct the bartender(I’m not a wine person so who knows). For appetizers we had soup(I complained it was luke warm and the waiter brought a piping hot replacement) and edamame that was not on the salty side. We ordered 3 sushi rolls. The best one was the gamecock. The other two weren’t as good but there was not one piece of sushi left. They do have a separate sushi bar. Our waiter was Jonathan and he was on point. He even changed the ever-alabama-incessant-football channel to HGTV at our request. Don’t let the TV’s throw you, it really has a nice atmosphere only I just didn’t get the feel of the place… Hotel? Real restaurant? There was a self serve drink area too? Jonathan might need some bartending experience but he really was a well mannered and attentive waiter. My companion requested a chocolate martini with Godiva liquor and when J brought it there was no chocolate treatment and the martini glass only had 1.5 ounces in it. Either the bartender only heard Godiva chocolate or he/she doesn’t know how to make a chocolate martini. She sent it back. For the price you could eat at I Love Sushi cheaper.

Tough review to write since we never even got to sit down… We were excited to see yet another place open at Twickenham Square. Taco Mama is great, TS has a nice urban feel, and finally, it seems that downtown Huntsville is entering the 21st century with what appeared to be(based on reviews of it’s sister restaurant in B’ham) high quality Asian food.(Planet earth to Huntsville: Chinese all-you-can-eat buffets, sushi with fake crab, and Thai food kept at steam tables are not high quality). An annual holiday tradition in our family includes Christmas Eve dinner at an Asian restaurant. Fast forward to Dec 20, when I called Asian Rim to make a reservation, asked if they were open on Christmas eve, received an enthusiastic«Yes», and booked a table for 6:30PM. They seemed on the ball; I received a text message 30 min after booking to confirm, then a follow-up voicemail on Dec 23 to confirm. Presents wrapped, check. Gas in the car, check. Family all set to leave, check. Phone call at 6PM: «Hi, this is Asian Rim calling, and we’re closing the restaurant». Hmm… closing a restaurant and calling the customers to cancel. Maybe there’s a problem with the water, maybe there’s a fire, maybe there’s a safety issue. Nope… in this case, Roy Hockman, the manager(who wasn’t even there) called in to tell the assistant manager that if things were slow, they should shut down and go home early. Fortunately, Commerce Kitchen came through and we had a great dinner(thanks, Savannah!). It’s a great thing when service employees get to spend time with their families, but when the stated reason for closing is because, «Business is slow», the least these guys could have done is apologize and offer to book a reservation at another place. Mr. Hockman seems better suited for a job as a Hobby Lobby cashier than a hospitality industry manager, and based on the other 4 reviews now at Unilocal,he should start looking now.

Good location, friendly hostess that took our order. Nice servers. Ordered pad Thai with chicken. Nothing special. A couple bites later found out there are several pieces of undercooked chicken. Talked to the manager– not even an apology. Just a «well I will throw it away.»… Would of enjoyed a refund at least. You decide if you want to take the risk.

I checked out the menu online and got excited. Went there to eat and left… definitely not good sushi. It is fresh but bland.
