I am very impressed with the improvements that Ryan’s has made in the last year! Before I hated going here — they were worse than taking the time to make a full course dinner at home. Their pasta still isn’t great but most of their dishes have skyrocketed to excellent! The meats, the seafood salads and the desserts were definitely the stars tonight. The service is good and their email club has good deals. I definitely caught up on my ‘home cooked meal’ experience here.

Dont ever eat here! 3 diff dishes had a piece of hair discovered in it, and the manager brushed it off as «could have been from someone at your table.» Pft! Not when you just sit down and attempting your first bite!

Old faithful as far as restaurants in Huntsville. Showing its age but still a good place in a pinch for a hot meal.

Just avoid the place The building is old and very worn(probably the original from the 70s), and the food quality shows. The weekday evening we went, the clientele consisted of some older well dressed couples, but mostly young 20s something rough types. The dinner buffet is $ 10.99, not including drink($ 1.99 or so).

I am morally opposed to buffets. There are only a few socially acceptable times when one can visit a buffet. The first is Las Vegas, the second is a cruise ship(or so I’ve heard). And even then, only for breakfast. That’s it. Otherwise, these places shouldn’t exist. Ryan’s shouldn’t exist. This place has pepperoni as a salad bar topping. Pepperoni. Let that sink in for a minute. One more time, pepperoni. We came here for a work lunch, a going away event for a few people leaving to explore some other opportunities. Ryan’s was the choice because, being a buffet, people thought it would be faster. Solid logic, but this place is terrible. Absolutely terrible. It’s depressing. The décor, the quality of the food, the patrons, all very depressing. I just got back, and I don’t feel right. Partially because of the food, but partially because I feel sorry for the people who eat here by choice. There are better and probably cheaper options out there, folks. This place is sure to kill you over time. Pepperoni. On the salad bar. The food was terrible, the service was unfriendly at first. The staff complained when the group of us walked in. Damn, sorry we brought you some business at lunchtime. They were very clearly overwhelmed and frustrated by our presence. Once we paid and got seated, though, the waitresses did make good effort to keep our drinks filled. So they should be commended in part for not shutting down. Am I being too harsh? Maybe. Find out for yourself if you’d like. But it’s easier for me to simply say: don’t go here. This is the purpose of Unilocal,my friends. I took the bullet this time so you don’t have to. I expect the same from you in the future.

Oh, goodness. I haven’t been to a Ryan’s in 10 years, but my childhood memories of the chain were obliterated when I ate here. The salad bar hasn’t changed at all since I last went, which shows that they aren’t keeping up with the times. Iceburg lettuce, cheese, sliced ham, shredded carrot, boiled eggs, olives, and dressing. That’s it?. They should be doing something like Jason’s deli by now. Meats and veggies were not seasoned properly and were overcooked from the heat lamp. Most of the food was fried and they had a scant choice of healthy dishes. Also, the place was HOT. All of those lovely heat lamps were omitting more heat than the AC could keep up with. And then, the kicker: there was a roach on the floor near the buffet. I couldn’t even tell my hubby because he would have insisted we leave immediately. The service was OK, not that you need much for a buffet restaurant. Also, the clientele was depressing. Mostly mobidly overweight people gorging themselves by taking advantage of the all-you-can-eat option. I overheard the phrase, «you’ll have to roll me out of here,» in some form at least 4 times. Ugh. That said, the rolls were awesome, which were always their claim to fame if I remember correctly. Still, I’ll not be patronizing this restaurant again.
