Amazing find, thank you Unilocal. It’s hard to find but worth the search. Jerk chicken, soups and bread were just so good.

After returning home from a trip to Miami where I had my first experience with authentic Jamaican food, I was craving it again and asked around to see if huntsville had anything close to it. Mangos was the first place everyone said to go. The first time I went, I looked for a dish similar to what I had in Miami. I found the stewed chicken. This amazing plate of goodness has become my go to meal each time I go now. They basically have my order memorized! The stewed chicken, rice and peas, steamed veggies and fried plantains are AMAZING. I always leave full and happy! The desserts all have a mango flavor too. I’m always too full to order one but I once tasted the mango cheesecake my brother ordered and WOWZA. I just love it. Highly recommend!!!

This place is phenomenal although it is hard to stay in the extremely hot building long enough to finish eating, unless it’s cold outside which helps. The location was obviously built for retail and not restaurant space and doesn’t have an a/c system that can overcome the industrial cooking appliances generated heat. It’s worth it though to get it to go, because it is delish! They have lots of vegetarian options and that’s hard to find in Huntsvile, a place where veggies actually have to pick rather than settle for the one option on the menu! The food is fresh and flavorful and the staff friendly.

While recently visiting Huntsville I had an opportunity to eat at Mango’s. It is a legitimate Caribbean restaurant. The jerk chicken especially is very good. It is done properly and authentically. We went to the Sunday buffet which gave a opportunity to sample all the dishes. Salted fish was also notable and the rice and beans. The location is in a strip mall but worth seeking out. Staff and owners are friendly. If you are looking for this type of cuisine check out Mango’s.

I mean… DANG!!! I can stomach having my flight delayed at HSV airport since it meant I could try Mango’s for the first time. Great buffet at a great price. Friendly, attentive service and fun clientele. Good people are here enjoying good food — that’s what you need to know. The rice and beans, mac and cheese, and coconut bread were worth our party of 5 making multiple trips to the buffet that day. Do not deny yourself the fried chicken — deceptively juicy. Oh lord — do not get me started on the mango lemonade! AHHH-MAZING! Our boss was looking out for us because he had a pitcher brought over. Gone in 60 seconds! My first taste of oxtails was at Mango’s and I am so glad. Not what I expected but I knew at this restaurant it would exceed my expectations. If I were an OU student this place would be my church. Lord, give me the strength to wait until the next time I can visit Mango’s.

Let me tell you something. I have been to a few Caribbean restaurants and this one takes the cake. When you have Jerk Chicken that makes your nose run, it’s good. You can still taste the flavor but it gives the right amount of kick to keep water in your cup. The buffet is $ 8.99 and I recommend it. You get three kinds of chicken, salad, soup, rice and beans and a few other things. The staff is very friendly which is always a plus. Make sure you check this place out of you are in Huntsville!!!

Has an hour in Huntsville while tying to catch a flight, decided to check this out as I love international cuisines ana Caribbean food is always fantastic. It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall, don’t let that put you off. It might not even be crowded actually, we were the only ones there on a Sunday evening. The food was still top notch and service was good(how can you mess things up with one table only?) Mango sauce wings — definitely a must try! The sauce is good and the wings are juicy Jerk chicken– came with rice and a small salad and plantains. Really huge plate and really tasty. The marination was on point. Chicken curry — seemed very authentic and tasted real good. Large quantity as well.

We had the lunch buffet. Nice mix of items both vegetarian and meat. They had a veggie stew beef, vegetables, rice and peas, jerk chicken(real), bbq meatballs(real), fried chicken(real), and macaroni and cheese. They also had split pea soup, corn chowder, and a very good coconut bread. The service is good at this family owned restaurant; they treat everyone well and makes every customer feel special. The real secret on the menu and one of my favorite things is the mango and strawberry lemonade. Both are really good. They had a 90⁄100 health rating when we visited. The buffet runs $ 8.99 per person.

I’m far from being an expert on Caribbean food but I’ve really enjoyed my two visits to Mango’s. This is a simple establishment with very good food and a wonderful, friendly staff. I had the jerk chicken on both of my visits and really loved the change of pace from what you typically find around Huntsville. I recommend you give Mango’s a try and by doing so, you’ll be supporting a small locally owned business.

Quiet dining. Went there on a Wednesday night with some friends. Only one guy to wait on us. As the night went on the place got more crowded and he fell behind some. No worries, the secret is out on good food. Authentic Jamaican food that was enticing to the eyes and pleasing to the pallet. Food was priced very fairly. My curry chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. No knife needed in this establishment. Bring your appetite when you come here, they won’t disappoint.

Here is another mom and pop home cooking restaurants that is a must visit, they have a fabulous menu of true Caribbean dishes that is very reasonably priced and hugely delicious? I had a little difficulty finding this place since there are a maze of parking lots an alley ways in the vicinity. I called the place and the excellent and patient waiter got me there. It’s got great atmosphere with colorful walls bright lit dining area. Lots of room between tables and great island music playing at the right level. Service is top shelf and your food comes out fast and piping hot. Try the Mango Bachanal Wings they are a contrast of crispy meets tender meets unusually tasty sauce. There are several island staples like goat and jerk chicken. I had the Oxtail Stew and it was a taste treat! Lots of rice and cabbage accompanied my entrée and I left the place fat and happy. Read my Unilocal and don’t miss the deliciousness. I’m a fan Yeah monM

I’ve been here a gazillion times! :-) Truly pleased with this place and the service is always superb. I’d seriously drive all the way across town just to eat here. Which is usually the case. With each visit I always intend on trying something new but I’m seriously hooked on their braised oxtails. Lip smacking, mouthwatering good. During one of my most recent visits I did branch out and try the Curry Chicken. It was good BUT not nearly as good as the Oxtails. The staff is always upbeat and amazing.

4th time here… and still not disappointed!!! In a previous rebiew, I mentioned something about the rolls being purchased. They now provide much better rolls, but only for a short time. I was informed by the owner today that in the VERYNEAR future that all bread products will be made in house as well. Also, if you like the heat then be sure to ask for the Mango Hot Sauce. A dab will do ya.

Thank you, Unilocalers, for the great reviews of Mango’s; it’s because of you that I went there for lunch today. It was DELICIOUS!!! My colleague and I both had the lunch buffet($ 8.99) and the jerk chicken and curry chicken was expertly prepared, so tender it fell off the bone, and unlike most other ethnic restaurants in town, did NOT tone down the spices. Real Caribbean flavorful — yay! The restaurant is small and has a nice Caribbean vibe. Live music on Thursday nights would add to the wonderful dining experience. Friendly staff, and clean. Perfection. The best Caribbean food I’ve had in years. Looking forward to returning and trying dinner options from the menu. Mango’s Caribbean Restaurant is now one of my top picks for the best Huntsville eats!

One Word: Delicious! Great service! Amazing Prices! This was my first visit here. After hearing/reading amazing reviews, my coworkers and I tried this place and indulged in the lunch buffet. You can’t beat $ 9 bucks for the buffet. The buffet had Jamaican rice, Mac n cheese, steamed cabbage with broccoli, chili, jerk chicken, two other flavors of chicken, soup and roll. One Word: Amazingly… good! This is a must-eat on your places to dine.

Ah… a taste of the islands, Caribbean food at its best. Mango’s serves up some decent Caribbean food. I came here tonight with a group of friends. It’s a little tricky to find but definitely worth the trip. You have to venture off to the side of a strip mall to find Mango’s. It’s a storefront operation but don’t under estimate the caliber of the food based on the location. I have to be honest this is my first attempt at Caribbean food in Alabama. I was feeling courageous so I went the spicy route with the Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat on a Petit Combo Platter. The Petit Combo Platter lets you sample any two meats from the menu, if you dare you ca go for the full size platter which includes three meat selections. That’s a lot of food! The Jerk Chicken was hot, hot, hot. Lots of spice, lots of flavor. The Curry Goat was also delicious but not half as spicy as the jerk chicken. All of the dinner meals come with sweet plain taints(yum), stir fried cabbage and broccoli and a choice of rice and peas or steamed white rice(steamed brown rice is extra). I chose the rice and peas and loved them. Nice flavors. The best way the relieve the heat from my mouth was to sample a dessert selection from the menu. I chose the Warm Pineapple Peach Crisp. The dish is warm and the pineapple and peach flavors go so well together topped off with a dollop of whipped cream and the dish becomes a work of art. Oh, speaking of work of art, you have to see the presentation of the Mango Cheesecake which arrives on a boomerang shaped plate, very cool! I love Mango’s, the staff were super friendly, service was efficient, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. FYI, I was with a group of 5 so the waiter added an automatic gratuity to our bills. Very pleased, I would recommend this one to my friends, two thumbs up!

AAAhhhh… I seriously, I am not kidding, waddled out of this restaurant. I ate everything on my plate and skipped dinner, because I was so full. First of all, they have a lunch buffet. I chose to order off of the menu, because I wanted to ensure I had enough vegetarian items to sample. However, my lunch dates were pleased with their meals from the buffet, and they ALL went back for seconds. I ordered the vegetarian sampler and was so happy I almost cried tears of joy. The flavors were explosive. The plantains were cooked to perfection which is really difficult to do! Lots of places don’t purchase them ripe enough, or they don’t cook them long enough, or cook them too long, but Mango’s did a perfect job! I could not have asked for a better meal in Huntsville. Thank you Mango’s. Thank you.

Our first time here… but NOT the last! OMG, this was amazing! Service was wonderful, great atmosphere, and the food was some of the BEST I’ve ever had! Loved the vegan options and wasn’t treated like I was an anomaly since I don’t eat dead animals!
