I really love to eat at Mei Wei. Great food! I particularly like the Mongolian Beef. They have tofu as well, though I haven’t tried it yet. My wife loves the General Tao chicken. It’s also the new hip Twinkingham district.

Decent ancient food when your tongue craves for«that» different taste from your regular cooking. I would give it a 4 star because the food is decent, not best and price is very good for the range and quality.

I got the shrimp fried rice and my wife got the lettuce wrap. I have had a lot better fried rice. It was a little dry. My wife got sick after eating the lettuce wrap. This was on Dec 30, 2025. First visit and won’t go back.

This place was terrible! Cashier never smiled & was robotic in her service. Our table was SO greasy: a simple rub with a napkin produced a greenish substance. All the tables had a smeary surface-it was gross!(Of course, we’d already ordered &PAID for our food before we saw the filth!) The food was bad. Sweet & sour soup was hot, but flavorless. My stir fried brown rice with chicken was also flavorless & the chicken didn’t look or taste much like chicken. Egg rolls were crunchy on the outside but gummy on the inside. My husband’s Spicy Thai fried rice was«okay». The helpings were large, but if it isn’t tasty, who cares? We left most of our food on the table, as the filth turned our stomachs. And so did the fact we’d paid $ 25 for it. I’d never recommend this place to anyone. Obviously, we won’t go back. Ever. #nasty Gave it one star only so I could post it… but it rates zero stars.

I had the spicy Mei-wei. I must say that I was skeptical at first., I thought it would be your average Chinese food. I must that it was more flavorful. Not to spicy, just to give your taste buds a little tingle. I would definitely go back.

Absolutely one of the best curry dishes I’ve ever eaten. I had the green curry shrimp. I asked for less spice and it was on point. The green peppers had a great freshness to them, crisp but soft inside. More shrimp than I could even finish. Cooked to perfection. Try it! You won’t be disappointed.

This place serves the best Asian food around town. Love it when they have music, wish they would bring that back!

Spicy Thai Fried Rice is my go to meal. With pineapple to smooth out the spiciness of the peppers, it really hits the spot. The Thai Coconut Soup is also great! If you eat it, the soup is extremely hot, and is typically delivered right before your main course, so by the time it cools, you are almost finished with your meal. But it makes for Great left overs! you get a ton of food with any of the entrees. Plus they do offer a punch card, I believe once you buy 10 meals, you get the 11th for free! I love this place, and the do delivery to a limited area.

I never ate here before believe someone told me it was horrible. So the reason I ate here was because I lost a bet with a coworker betting against Alabama vs LSU and owed him lunch at his choosing. So we decided to order delivery today and I chose the Green Thai Coconut Curry Three Protein meal with beef, chicken and shrimp and brown rice. I even ordered an appetizer of lettuce wrapped chicken. First of all way to much food. Only had a bite of the app and went straight for the Thai Coconut Curry and fell in love, this is probably one of the best Asian plates I’ve ever had. A great taste of flavors all in one plate. A lot of pieces of meat and nice big shrimp. Oh I almost forgot the order came in about 20 minutes from the time I called. Just a great overall experience at the expense of Roll Tide… LOL. As Arnold would say«I’ll be back».

Ever since they new mei wei opened up by Huntsville Hospital close to Governors dr. this location is starting to go down hill. The young thin Asian guy who managed the restaurant now works at the new location. Idk his name but he was always working very hard and was aware of most things. Now the people in charge of the old location over look things like putting out forks or checking the tea. Sometimes they bring the soup with no ladle or enough bowls.

Boy, we ate there again tonight. Had Pad thai noodles & shrimp with some wine and beer. Just fantastic food at such a great price. Can not understand how they stay in business. Look for 2 for 1 coupons for their suppers. They are open until 9PM most evenings. Pdgutie

I am editing my post because I do not know how to respond to a comment left on my original post. First, I will apologize if I came off harsh. Service was never bad. This review is only for the food. It’s not that it tastes bad, it’s just too oily and salty. I understand this is a fast food spot but to say it is quality, is an over statement.

above par fast food asian wo fast food flavor. low prices. good mix of japanese and thai flavors. one of my «go to» lunch or dinner spots. update response: i usually get egg drop soup and an order of the pan seared dumplings(i could almost drink the dipping sauce yum). but i also really like the kung pao and mongolian chicken/beef(choose protien w each dish). my hubby gets the thai coconut curry(extra spicy) which is also very good. their thai fried rice is excellent. the thai food is very traditional thai. i love the food bc its not covered in batter, lots of veggies and sauce. good prices and quick service.

I ordered the Thai Cashew Chicken without added sugar. The cashier took my order and added the“no sugar” to the ticket. I received a very sweet stir fry. I believe the dish would have been good if it were spicer and not sweet. But can’t give more than a 2 star since it was not as ordered.

Great food! I ordered the chicken lo mein. The noodles were much different than I’m used to. I’m used to the oily type but these were a little sticky and very well done. Also different was the chicken which had a lighten breaking. I loved it! They only deliver within 5 miles, but the delivery was lightening fast, just like the lightening that the driver was braving from the storm outside! It helped add to a wonderful evening at home.

First time here. The name Mei Wei Asian Bistro sounds like Pei Wei Asian Bistro, which is owned by P. F. Chang’s. Walking into Mei Wei, my first impression is it is JUST like Pei Wei. Sure seems like somebody is a copycat! That aside, the food gets 4 stars for what it is… Asian fusion, or Americanized Asian cuisine. Would I go back? No, and here’s why… I ordered Soy Ginger Broccoli with beef, as well as Green Curry Chicken. The soy ginger broccoli hadn’t the slightest hint of ginger. None. It was beef with broccoli in a bland sauce. The green curry chicken is «spicy» according to their menu. It had a faint hint of flavor, but not much. Both entrees were loaded with meat, so of that’s your thing, you may well enjoy it. I’d rather have less meat and more veggies. Both entrees came with large portions of rice, so you won’t run out(don’t you hate it when that happens?!). Both entrees had very little sauce. To sum it up… Loaded with meat, lacking flavor, skimpy on the sauce, and lots of rice. Again, for what it is, it’s 4 stars, but it’s not for people like me who want traditional Asian cuisine. Service-wise, the 3 employers packing the to-go orders looked thoroughly confused. The cashier didn’t recognize my BOGO coupon, but he provided good service. He didn’t thank me for the cash tip I gave him, though. On a side note, it can be hard getting in and out of this shopping center, as it’s steep, right off a busy University Drive. Stick shift drivers will really have to gun it to get out of there.
