Cactus Salon and Spa

This place is the most ghetto of all cactus locations. NONE of the staff is nice and everyone is dressed very casually in tshirts. They don’t have the «spa» vibe like most of the other locations do. DO NOT COME HERE. Go across the street to Christopher’s instead

Stay away from Kim and the Cactus Salon on Main Street in Huntington. I was treated terribly because I purchased a Groupon for a blowout. The Groupon clearly states can not have been there within 12 months. I was there 14 months ago. She waited until my hair was wet to embarrass me in front of the other customers. When I made the appointment I was told I could use the Groupon.
They need to change wording on Groupon. Customers should never be treated that way.
Barbara, the stylist was lovely and very professional.
Don’t worry Kim. I will never be back to your location.

The worst haircut and color of my life. Rikki colored my hair but left a 2 inch gap of my previous color at the root so it looked like I got my color done awhile ago. Also, I asked for a blunt cut and she layered it and said she was giving it texture. Will never ever go back. Will go somewhere else next time and get what I asked for.

I’ve got the worst haircut in my life in Cactus salon! I just wanted to cut my ends a little bit because I loved my long hair. Rikki used strange technique and I told her many times not to cut so much, but she said she just made «waives». All my friends where shocked. She cut half of my length and made one side longer then the other side because she didn’t compare what she cut. I needed to go back to this place and fix my hair. Liliana made my haircut look better but still. Good bye long hair (((((

Before I give you my review let me explain one thing. I am not a girly girl and I know I can be very difficult to work with as a client. Having said that, I LOVE cactus of Huntington, the one on main street. I know there are two in Huntington. I have been going there for years and the staff is so friendly that we have become actual friends! Also the girls are very tallented, you can tell by their personal styles that they eat, sleep, and breath style. My review is on my experience with coloring, cut, curls and up-​do.
I always get my hair cut and colored by Natasha. If it were up to me I would have a basic cut because like i said before I am not very girly. So i tell Natasha what I like and let her do her thing. I am always impressed with the results. She has a real gift when it comes to cutting hair.
Natasha also colors my hair. I don’t do it often because I am lazy and she has picked up on it and would suggest to me low maintenance looks. This I LOVE!!! I don’t look homeless after a few months. :)
Barbra Ann curled my hair for a wedding and it came out beautiful. My hair usually goes flat but not this time. I told my sister in law about the saloon and she ended up getting an up-​do from Victoria. My sister in law is like me, we know what we like but not what works for us. She ended up getting an interact braided up-​do that was something out of a dream. It was so beautiful, defiantly something out of the vision of an artist.

Natasha is a liar. Prior to purchasing a groupon for highlights a glaze and blowout, I asked the salon if they used olaplex. I would NEVER have done the highlights if they didn’t. The lady told me yes but I would have to pay the extra $ 20 at the salon since the groupon did not include that.
When I arrived at the salon Natasha said she had to go get her olaplex from her car. She was gone for over 15 minutes and did not come back with anything. I thought that was odd but I gave her the benefit of the doubt… I then watched her pump Argan oil into the bleach… Again gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe she had the olaplex in the back room… I told her I wanted blonde highlights with NO orange. That was my only request… My hair was orange. I told her it was orange and she was not happy… That never would have happened had she used olaplex… I’ve gotten blonde highlights before with no orange even without olaplex. She put the toner back on and left me under a dryer while she rushed around bc the next client was waiting… Still my hair was orange but I had been there 4 hours and wanted out… Since I had already paid $ 85 for my groupon and given the salon the groupon number when I made my appointment, I asked her if I should pay her for the olaplex or at the front desk… Her reply was «oh thank you for being honest but don’t worry about it…» At that exact moment I knew for certain she didn’t use it… I proceeded to tip her $ 60 and left the salon. Not even an hour later I had 3 voicemails from the salon telling me I left without paying for services and it was fraud… Um. I paid groupon with my debit card days before I even went into my appointment and tipped her $ 60 in cash. It just rubbed me the wrong way to ever accuse a client of walking away without paying… First off it could have been an honest mistake, but in my case I paid days before my appointment and have the bank statement/​groupon voucher to prove it… Still a week later she was calling to harass me. She really had guts to do that considering she lied about the olaplex and preformed services under false pretenses… she is in my opinion, not a good person and can’t be trusted.

This salon is accommodating and Ricki did an amazing color job! The staff here is friendlier than other cactus salons. Despite the small and cramped size of the salon, the staff is welcoming and does a great job of accommodating their clients.

Worst Salon in Huntington. $ 50 haircut that consisted of the woman taking half an inch off my ends… Crooked bangs… And 30 mins of hearing her drama with her dirtbag boyfriend. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I officially swear by this place! Marie is a a highlighting hair cutting GODDESS. I have been to countless hair salons all over the island for years looking for the perfect color and cut and I have finally found it here, right in my hometown which is AWESOME. Staff is SUPER friendly and accommodating. Prices are pretty reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

I went here because I wanted to get those feather extensions and this is the only place I found that did them.
I fell in love with Barbra Ann, she always asks what you like, is this ok. She wants to please her costumers, she also takes classes to be up to date on the latest trends. She turned me on to my latest hair, the ombré effect. I highly recommend her and I am very picky, with my hair! I took my girlfriend to her also and she fell in love with her as well.
The shampoo girls, ah, few times they didn’t ask if the water was ok and it kept getting in my ears. I think the one girl was very new and stressed so. Maybe I just went on bad days.
If I didn’t really like Barbra Ann I probably wouldn’t go back.

Had a haircut here. Had to deal with some politics with the prep wash 1^st time — wash girl being rough with my hair b/​c that’s what the hairstylist wanted, no concern that she was hurting me. Hair cut was actually good! But when went back for a trim (same guy), he slaughtered my hair, choppy & uneven. Won’t go back.

AWFUL… they do not know what they are doing when it comes to hair. I waited 30 minutes after my appointment for the stylist to waste another 20 minutes wondering how to highlight my hair… oh and they burned my scalp so badly I literally had blisters throughout my whole head. NICE… I told them I was in pain and she kept being too rough with my hair anyways. The best part, I still was charged for a blow out when I didn’t have one done because my scalp was so tender I couldn’t run a comb through my hair without screaming. This place is a joke.
