What a great experience! Such a welcoming salon. Kelly is amazing! Very personable & friendly. She takes your experience @ The Emerald Door Salon very seriously. I loved every minute of it! I highly recommend this great salon!

I came here with my mom on my birthday for a signature facial, after having read all the positive Unilocal reviews. Emerald Door certainly deserves them. Christina was wonderful – I am in my 30s with good habits (no smoking, excess time in the sun etc) so not someone who attends my skin with anything other than daily moisturizer and a weekly scrub, so it was nice to have some serious pampering. There is soothing white noise (ocean waves) and she spent time going over first what my skin needed and what I shouldn’t be doing (i.e. using St. Ive’s apricot scrub – ooops~!). Then, it was layer upon glorious layer of different facial creams, a mask, warm towels, cool towels, steam – each smelling lovely. It was not a «harsh» treatment but she did go deep to get out some dirt. A shoulder/​neck and brow massage brought everything together. I think world peace could be accomplished if everyone just got one of her facials. She was pleasant throughout, a very warm personality but didn’t force conversation, never left the room. I highly recommend her in particular, and would come back. My only areas for improvement would be the space itself – it is almost hidden next to a violin store and we walked past it once before finding it. The waiting area was a little cramped and uninviting for a spa – I was brought very nicely to another room to wait, but some candles or other spa-​ish décor would be nice. Adding touches I’ve seen at other spas, like cucumber water after your treatment, would give it that extra something. I’m not saying that has be the case here, but just comparing it to other similar experiences. Overall great experience and recommended!

Today, I had The Emerald Signature facial with Corina. She’s very professional, pleasant and soft spoken. Very caring and pays attention. She never left the room until it was finished. Corina did extraordinary job with cleansing and extractions. Painless!!!
She’s very patient and precise. I could tell that she really loves her profession. At the end, she gave me a wonderful face massage, that few (6) hours later, still feels like I had a facelift.
I added the paraffin treatment for my hands, a must have!
The room was very nice and relaxing. The spa very clean and welcoming.
I highly recommend Corina’s services.
She just got herself a new client for life!

I scheduled a facial with Jamie after receiving a coupon as a gift! I walked into the salon and spa with a warm welcome and some light paperwork. The environment was very calming and especially clean.
Jamie was lovely, professional and very helpful with any questions I had both about the procedure and how I can continue with proper skin care, especially with sunscreen!
My complection is on the right track after my facial with Jamie. I feel confident and even purchased a single session for my mother as a gift!

Took my dad here for a facial after finding them groupon. If you’re a frequent groupon user, you know it can be a hit or miss. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how wonderful this place is! My dad said the service was amazing. They were very kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is very warm and homey. My dad saw Jamie and loved his facial! Can’t wait to come back for my own facial!

Best massage EVER! Massage therapist, Jamie, has a real gift! I have been getting massages for the last 15 years, all over the country, from local spas to high end resorts, and while I thought many were quite good, none have measured ip to what Jamie has been able to do for me. Granted, over the years my aches and pains have changed and increased, but still, Jamie’s massages are the best — most relaxing, most enjoyable, and most effective.
If this rating were for Jamie, I would have given 5 stars. When it comes to the spa/​salon, everyone is very friendly and helpful, and the space is clean, cozy, and comfortable… but it could be more comfortable. Since space is limited for multiple services for multiple people at one time (and I want to share Jamie’s expertise with my friends and loved ones, but don’t want to go to anyone else myself), it would be great if there were a couple of big comfy chairs to sit in while a friend or my husband was getting a treatment after I had one myself. There are places to sit, and the staff is very accomodating, but it could be taken that one notch up.
That being said, its not a negative… more a suggestion for improvement. This is a fabulous and unpretentious spa, with my favorite massage therapist ever!

Don’t bother telling them how you want your hair done because they will do what they want anyway. They think they know better than the customer.

I am terrified when it comes to getting my haircut, especially after a few disasters at other salons. Josie cut my hair and did an awesome job! I was looking to cut 6 inches and she checked with me multiple times to make sure I was okay with the length. It was my first time here and everyone was so nice, I will definitely be back again!

I went to the Emerald Door for the first time to get my hair and make up done for my mom’s birthday party. Deb did my hair and Josine did my make up. They both listened to what I wanted and checked with me throughout to make sure I was happy with how it was coming out. They were courteous, professional, and detail oriented. That combined with the low key music and spa atmosphere made it a wonderful experience. I would definitely go back.

I had an AMAZING facial here! Loved every second of it and plan to go back. This was my first facial and I didn’t know what to expect. I was thrilled with the service. It was about an hour long and included an arm, hand and face massage. I feel rejuvenated and relaxed!

I have been going to Deb for over 20 years and she is not only a wonderful person but extremely talented at what she does! I have followed her everywhere she has worked throughout the years, sometimes driving up to an hour which says it all. I have very curly hair and was never happy with my hair, Deb has changed that for me and I am forever grateful! She has also cut my children’s hair since they were little and they now will travel home from college just to go to her, she makes them feel comfortable and always listens to their requests yet gives them her honest professional opinion which I so appreciate. Aside from her talent, she is a truly genuine person who really cares about people and is dedicated to making her clients happy. I love Deb and the Emerald Door and highly recommend her to everyone!

Deb has been cutting my hair for 20+ years. Obviously, I have every faith in her talent. I live in Queens and STILL would have no one else cut my hair. Recently brought my daughter along, and one of Deb’s capable, professional assistants did an amazing job. Have also given Emerald Door gift certificates to friends. In addition, the salon is sparkling clean and has an immediate calming influence. LOVE the Emerald Door and Deb!!!

My mom decided to give them a second chance. This time the owner cut her hair and the results and service were much better. She definitely wanted to make it right which is commendable.

The Emerald Door is a phenomenal salon. This is the place where I always get my hair trimmed, and done-​up for special events. Deborah is very professional and friendly. She also does a great job with waxing. Bonus points for the good music that plays in there.

I have been going here for some time now and I LOVE the way my hair looks after. The staff has made me feel right at home since the first time I walked through the door.
Deb knows exactly what she is doing and always knows how to produce your vision.

For waxing (the only service I have experienced here so far) just excellent. Wonderful organic products and professional treatment. I recommend highly and I will be back to try a facial.

I have been going to The Emerald Door ever since I found out I was allergic to a chemical found in most hair color. I heard they carried an all-​natural hair color so I figured I’d give it a try. After five minutes I knew I had made the right decision. The atmosphere of the salon is very relaxing and the staff is absolutely wonderful. After listening to my concerns, Deborah assured me that the hair color was safe and took the time to show me the product. She is a very talented stylist and colorist and I was so happy with the end result. She even called me at home later that evening to make sure I didn’t have any reactions and was happy with the color! I have been going to The Emerald Door ever since and I am always so happy with my hair. I highly recommend this place!

I have been going to Deborah for 5 years now for haircuts and highlighting. She is absolutely amazing! Her technique is outstanding. She will personalize any treatment to your needs. She also has spa and nail professional there. Highly recommended for any of these services! The atmosphere is very unique, the receptionist would offer you light refreshments and tea or coffee.
