I’ve been to The Seafood Zone a number of times, and love the food and atmosphere. Carlos is a great host, too, along with his friendly staff. I’m partial to fish and chips, but theirs are not like OTHER’S fish and chips; it’s a deliciously different taste, and even the fries are superior to other places’. AND, it’s not expensive. Going back ASAP!

The best ceviche around Huntington Beach. Great customer service, Carlos the owner is a pleasure to talk to. This will be my new spot to go to when I am craving ceviche.

I’ve been here three times and have eaten twice here. The first time, my dad and I grabbed some lunch and despite ordering shrimp I received swai fish — very similar to catfish — I let the mixup go, didn’t bother to let them know and ended up really enjoying the fish. It was excellent! The second time I came around, I ended up getting the camarones a la diabla — a spicy shrimp. So good. Stopped in recently, received chips and salsa. And then waited. And waited. And waited for a drink order. There were 2 – 3 tables outside and one inside, and then me. Two servers on. A table that had arrived ten minutes after me received drinks. After about fifteen minutes without even a drink order placed, I gave up and walked out. It’s too bad, my taste buds were looking forward to some good food. Oh well.

Best micheladas and fish tacos in town! I always come here at LEAST once every two weeks… Their food is AMAZING and the owners/employees are seriously so nice and friendly. Not the fake friendly either, extremely genuine. If this place ever goes out of business ill cry… Legit. Do yourself a favor, try it out.

I came here yesterday for the first time and will definitely be back! Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful! I had the best grilled shrimp and fish tacos I’ve had in a long time! The chips and especially salsa were really good and my boyfriend loved his chicken burrito.

I don’t know why I have passed this place many of times. I regret it because their food is down right good! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Don’t be fooled when you walk in. The place has more seating towards the back, called The Beach. It’s a nice and cozy patio area. The artwork inside the restaurant is very cool. As for the food, the best shrimp and fish ceviche I’ve ever had. The grilled fish tacos, I could eat 5 of those in one sitting. The beans and rice… yep…worth it. I’m coming back for sure. The price is reasonable. The food is just ridiculously good. The service is what customer service should be!

I haven’t written a review in a long time but had to make an exception for seafood zone. We are lucky enough to live really close to this place. They make some seriously amazing grilled and Baja fish and shrimp tacos. We get takeout from here once every 1 – 2 weeks and it’s always delicious :) plus they have never messed up our order one time. The owner is really nice and friendly each time. And it is nice to eat in too with a cute little outdoor patio. Eat here! You definitely won’t regret it.

I love their Agua Fresca(Jamaica) and grilled shrimp taco! Their grilled fish taco was not too bad. Chips were mediocre, but I enjoyed their salsa. My boyfriend enjoyed his carne Assad taco combo. It had 2 tacos with rice and beans. I think the rice was a bit over-cooked, and we were too full to finish. The service was friendly and attentive. I’ll be back for more Agua Fresca and tacos!

We found this place on Unilocal. The place is very cute, they have seats in the front and a little patio for you to sit outside. The horchata was sweet and tastes home made. There were two sizes to the ceviche, medium and large. The medium was super big! I didn’t expect it to be that big. It had large chunks of seafood and had the perfect amount of lime. And cucumbers on the side. I used it to eat the ceviche instead of the chips and it tasted extra fresh! My chicken taco was BOMB. So so flavorful and filling, they did not skimp out on the chicken. My boyfriend had the fish taco and he said they were alright. Overall I would go back for the chicken tacos so good!

Fantastic service and food quality. The fish tacos were great. The combos are hard to beat for the price. Love the outdoor seating. I’ll be back for sure.

What a great little place, I’d come here twice a week if I lived nearby. There’s some indoor seating, and a surprisingly nice little courtyard in the back almost entirely covered by the table umbrellas to keep the sun out. They bring you free chips & salsa, then the menu(at least for lunch) was just the right size and both the ceviche and tacos I tried were very good. I honestly don’t know how they make money on the fish & shrimp ceviche I got — it was a huge portion for $ 6.99 and they even asked if I wanted to spicy or not. Nice little restaurant that appears to be family-owned and run, just the kind of business I like to support with good, fresh food for a very reasonable price. Bravo.

My cousin and I wanted to try something new(other than Vietnamese food) so stumbled upon this after a few mins of Unilocaling places. We came around 5 or 6pm and it was pretty empty. We actually thought they were closed because there were little to no cars parked outside. Little restaurant with maybe 6 tables inside? 1 fairly large one in the corner but it had a reserved sign on it but only a couple sitting there and 5 smaller tables for 2 – 4 people. There was a patio but it was waaaay too cold to sit outside so we didn’t even bothering going out to to take a gander. I’m sure on a nice day, it would’ve been lovely. Carlos helped us from start to finish and he was super nice and attentive. I asked him what he recommends and the first thing he said was the Fillet Relleno($ 16) Not gonna lie, since I didn’t know what to expect, it took a while to come out. My cousins two tacos and kids meal for the baby come out and they were nearly done by the time mine did but it was worth the wait. This boat shaped foil comes out with this honkin’ fish stuffed with shrimp, cheese and this delicious red sauce comes to my table. I love Mexican food but I’ve never had a dish like this before. It was light, flakey, cheesy and had a nice hot kick to it but not too hot. Carlos brought out a salad and rice for me but told me save some of the rice for the fish so I did and dude! I wish I had more rice to eat with my fish! My cousin on the other hand didn’t seem too fond of the tacos. They looked pretty big in size but I don’t think she’ll be returning. This fish and I, I don’t know if I can shake you just yet. I’ll see you soon!

I am still waiting for the day that Unilocal will allow us to give .5 ratings because this place I would give a 3.5 stars. Not enough YET to round up. Maybe another time I can give it another try and reevaluate but for now I would say 3.5 stars. Came here with my cousin because we have been wanting to try a new place around here that was not Vietnamese because we eat Viet food all the time, which I totally don’t mind because it is good. Anyways, we found this place thru Unilocal and decided to give it a go. When we arrived, the parking lot was pretty empty and there was plenty of parking spots. Went in and there was only one other table inside. Not too much seating inside, and there was also seating outside but it was too cold for us outside so we sat indoors. The man working there, Carlos, was very friendly and helped us decide what to order. I wasn’t too hungry so I opted for the taco combo(1 fish, 1 shrimp). He asked me if I wanted it grilled, fried or blackened. I asked him what was the best option and he told me fried, and I went with his suggestion. I ordered the quesadilla with fries kids meal for my son. My cousin said she could eat, so he suggested the fish fillet in relleno sauce that comes with pieces of shrimp and cheese on top for $ 15 something. My son’s and my food arrived, and it took a while for my cousin’s fish to come. We were already eating when hers finally came. It looked good! As for mine, the fish taco was alright as well as the shrimp taco. Nothing spectacular, and kind of bland. I saw a lot of raves about shrimp tacos so I was a bit let down. There is this spicy sauce that you put in it but it didn’t do much for the flavor. I forgot that my fish and shrimp were fried, tasted grilled because it was so soggy. It was around $ 8 something for that combo. I don’t think it’s worth it for the tacos… It wasn’t memorable, I already forgot what they taste like and that was just yesterday. My cousin enjoyed her fish, and I tried a bite of it. It was definitely better than the tacos, and just something different to try besides the usual at every Mexican restaurant. I think the prices are a bit steeper than other Mexican seafood places. I might try something else if I am right by it next time such as the ceviche because I love ceviche. I would say that the service was great and that I am willing to give this place another shot someday.

Looking for a screaming Ceviche? Look no further. Yet another bookmark vanquished and it nets a solid four stars of fury. This family run business offers a fully loaded Mexican menu and some downright friendly service. The prices are arguably high for the genre but I really don’t mind paying a bit extra when seafood is being discussed. After a fast perusal of the menu I decided to roll with the Ceviche Tostada and a Grilled Fish Taco which came to a spendy $ 13.00 with a soda and all orders naturally come with Chips and Salsa to nosh on while you wait for your meal. The Salsa is very good, borderline tremendous. Rather than blasting your tastebuds away and ruining any chance of tasting the rest of the meal The Seafood Zone relies on the actual ingredients to provide the flavor. Fresh, bright and summery Tomato with notes of Onion and Pepper in the finishing notes. I am a tremendous admirer. Now to the culinary crescendo: that astounding Ceviche Tostada. This is easily the finest Ceviche I have had in this young year of 2016. Large chunks of Shrimp meets sliced Tomato, Red Onion, Cucumber along with a healthy dash of Cilantro before the lot of it is tossed in a Lime based concoction until the Shrimp is cooked through and then an extra large wedge of Avocado acts as a garnish. All of this is placed on a crispy Tostada. A small cup of liquid heat flanks the Tostada so you get to control the heat, I like that idea. Everything from the portions to execution was spot on and this will be a mandated order for this Unilocaler on every visit. The Grilled Fish Taco was an honest effort but easily out-shined by the Ceviche Tostada. A pair of Tortillas acts as a delivery mechanism for a large piece of fresh Swai that was seasoned and grilled before being topped with a tomato/cilantro salad and then topped with Sour Cream and another fat wedge of Avocado which I believe is their signature finishing move. All of the ingredients were entirely fresh and prepared to order but I thought the seasoning was a bit subdued for my taste. I like the bold punch of the blackened variety of Fish Tacos but from what I understand the fried Baja style is their specialty. I truly enjoyed my lunch at The Seafood Zone and cannot wait to return. It is great to see a small, family run business enjoy serving the public so dearly and I hope they see wild success for years to come.

I don’t get it. Maybe I came on an off night, but I really didn’t think this place was anything special. I mean, the food was OK, but in my opinion there are better places sprawled around the area. I got the fish ceviche, a fish taco and chicken taco. Honestly, it was kind of similar to Wahoo’s, just sort of a boring and bland taste. The décor just seemed a little bit creepy and outdated to me also. Again, I’m really confused about the high reviews and it could be possible I came at the wrong time, but this was my impression. I might give it another try if I’m in the area.

This my go to lunch spot. I love their habanero salsa and sometimes I’ll buy a bottle to bring home! You get a free ceviche or soup with your Unilocal check-in. Couple items I’ve tried include: — Fish Ceviche — comes on a tostada, a must try — get it really spicy if you can handle it. they also have shrimp ceviche — you’ll want to order a whole plate — Surf & Turf Burrito — steak and shrimp burrito — Fish Tacos — lightly battered, and crispy goodness — Camarones a la diabla — hot spicy shrimp, comes with rice, beans and a salad — love the spicy sauce! — Camarones al mojo de ajo — garlic buttered shrimp — buttery goodness comes with rice beans and a salad All these items are delicious — this spot is a hidden gem. they have indoor and outdoor seating. and the outdoor seating has a great ambiance. the service is alway amazing and they start you off with chips and salsa… remember to ask for the habanero salsa!!! *****
