Becca, with the help of Elise, made all of my hair dreams come true! They’re both such sweet and funny girls and very easy to talk to; I was laughing the entire time. They were always very hospitable and offered me water and would consistently make sure the bleach on my head was not irritating me. You could tell that they really knew what they were doing and they were both incredibly talented. They turned my hair from a bleached yellow mess to a subtle light blonde with hints of grey and I walked out with the biggest grin on my face! This one time experience has transformed me into a loyal client.

I was in town visiting over the holidays and needed fresh highlights. The front desk staff got me in quickly, all the girls were super sweet. My stylist, Delaney, did an awesome job on my full highlight. She was so nice and my highlights are the perfect shade of blond. Highly recommend Modern Salon!

I have had everything from Senior Stylist to Junior Stylist — Candy is the best at hair cuts (I would give her 5 stars) but the salon as a whole, only 1 star — here’s why:
it was recently updated. but CHEAPLY updated… as soon as you walk into the salon look around, outdated furniture, cushions that need to replaced yuk… bathrooms are always messy and not clean, even when I’ve had a 9:00 appt., stark white walls and a TV that repeats a foreign commercial over and over when you go get your hair washed and massaged (not relaxing!)… lastly they just had a price increase and these stylists are NOT that great for the price… $ 40 just to dry your hair AFTER your service??? I now go to Savvy Salon off Exit 28 = happy :)

Ok, now I will say I liked Theresa and i even like the color she gave me. But for over 400.00 for a hair cut and highlights, wow, that is robbery. First when they make you sign an agreement to pay for a service because the price is outrageous, you already know they are overcharging you. The sad thing is I like the place, like the girl and would go back. But I moved from NY and CT and I have had my hair done at Adam Broderick and frederic fekkai in NY and its had never cost as much as in Cornelius NC.
The color also did not last and faded quite fast for 400.00. Just saying I thought when i moved here I would never see another 250.00 hair bill. I was right. Its more. I will say to those who think it in with the times., I drive Porsche, own a home and still think that its high in any state, except maybe Hollywood. I wish I could use Theresa again but at at that kind of price tag to have my hair highlighted, I am sorry to say not. Really. Time for a reality check Modern salon and spa

I’ve been seeing Bao for years for haircuts and color, and she does an outstanding job. Staff is always friendly, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Modern Salon & Spa at Birkdale Village is the best place I found for haircuts in Charlotte. I had several really bad experiences with hairdressers here before I finally found Amy who specializes in cutting long hair among other things. I have been going to this place for many years now and do not imagine switching. Service is always good. I always receive top notch personal attention. Every time I leave the place my hair looks good enough to turn heads.

Went to this salon for the first time. I was happy but not thrilled. I got a girl who was newer and she took the time to listen as to what I wanted. However, took a very long time to finish. I got partial highlights and a basic trim, no style. Out the door 3.5 hrs later with wet hair (my choice) at 135.00 plus a tip. Not sure If I will go back at this point, just expected more in my opinion.

Nice atmosphere, not too chichi. The girls are not constantly pushing products on you and prices are reasonable. Staff is very friendly. Had my eyebrows threaded and while they looked good her technique left a little to be desired.

I’ve been coming to Stephanie here for a few years and she is the best. I am very picky about who cuts my hair. I slipped up and let someone else cut it several months ago, big mistake, I immediately got an appointment with Stephanie and had her fix it. She always gives excellent suggestions and tips and seems truly interested in her clients. The salon itself is also very pleasant but they won’t put tips on credit cards.
