Terrible service! We waited 10 mins to attempt to purchase chocolates as a gift… despite that it was not all busy no one came to assist us! Not the first time it has felt lame concerning service but our last! People should beware!

Good hot chocolate, teas, and baked goods, but canceled out by a very rude staff member(the owner). There are plenty of good spots to go in Hudson for treats, so no need to deal with that. We had a group of 6 adults and 4 kids. We purchased 6 drinks, several cookies and scones and were seated at 2 small tables; a few of us were standing because of the lack of seating. We were only there for 15 – 20 minutes before the owner came over to our table and in a very rude manner and said«we’re going to need our tables back for other people». When we paid for our tab before leaving she reacted with surprise regarding how much we purchased. Last time we go to this place.

The teas, hot chocolates, and coffees were delicious. The service was poor. One staff, in particular, was very rude. While enjoying the many baked goods and hot beverages that we purchased, a staff member came over and told us «they would need their tables back soon.»(We had 2 and 6 chairs for our party of 10). After taking her not-so-subtle hint, we paid our $ 50+ bill and walked out. Will not return. Too many coffee shops in Hudson to support one with rude staff.

We went here twice in two days in Hudson. This was probably the best establishment in town. Our group enjoyed various tea and chocolate drinks and purchased a few confections. I especially enjoyed the white hot chocolate and the hazelnut torte. I downgraded them to four stars because they make their chai drinks with prepackaged chai rather than brewing fresh tea which is odd because they sell so much loose tea! The ladies that run the place are very nice and there is something for everybody there, so definitely worth a visit if you’re in town.

Stopped here twice, once on the day we arrived and once on the day we left. Great chocolate drinks with dairy-free options. Fantastic pastries with gluten-free and vegan options. Not cheap but well worth it.

It’s a wonderful experience to not only witness the artsy galleries and antiques but taste the local and artisanal goods here too. I love their homemade chocolate chip cookie, all their drinks and homemade chocolates and drinks. Actually, I love everything about this place.

Enjoyed this cute tea and chocolate shop. We got a hot chocolate and a chocolate chai with almond milk– very tasty mid-day treats. They have tea samples and chocolate to try too, that day there was a chocolate pureh which I really enjoyed. I love tea shops and this one was pretty large. It was quiet and a nice place to just sit by the window and read the paper undisturbed. Also we picked up some small chocolates that I can’t wait to try later– one with bacon and one with Poprocks!

The teas were very good. The tea/coffee pots and accessories are reasonably priced and nice quality. One of the woman working was friendly and helpful, the other seemed annoyed to ring me up. Several customers came and went while I drank my tea and had a snack, most seemed happy with what they purchased. A few sat as I did and sipped while tasking on iPads or phones. I was waiting on someone doing business in the area and was unsure how long they would be. I asked to pay for my initial purchase and later got another few things before leaving. When the person I was meeting arrived he wanted a drink to go and I was near him, we got the response, do you want something else? I spent over $ 30 in about an hour and a half and he was about to make a purchase, I thought the response was rude. I would go again for loose teas or teapots, I won’t make this a hang out spot though. I suppose everyone has a bad day and it was busy, but I like to feel welcome not like I’m bothering you when I want to give you money. 4 stars for good tea and goods.

This might be my and AL’s favorite spot in the world… maybe. Here it is: a tea shop with CHOCOLATE but really great tea and really great chocolate. It was such a pleasant experience. I would love to go there again. It’s sooo good.

Purchased their chocolate meringues, stopped by half a dozen times and they were never baked. Always given excuses as to why they weren’t done. Even when I stopped in when I was told they would be done, they weren’t. Consistency is important.

This place is amazing. It is beautiful inside and the staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered a birthday cake from them and while I was expecting something that looked pretty and tasted good, I was unprepared for just how exquisite the cake was. Gorgeous, elegant cake with fresh flowers and beautiful writing. The flavor was rich, yet delicate at the same time. It’s hard to explain, you just have to experience it for yourself. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other things they have there!

I had never been to Hudson NY before, but I’m so glad I did. I was out in the Berkshires and decided to head west. The first store that caught my eye was Verdigris; partially because I couldn’t figure out how to pronounce it, and because it was listed as a tea café! I love trying new tea places! They have a reasonable selection of teas, many of them tisanes and herbals, but still a nice selection of blacks, oolongs, and greens. Not only do they sell dried tea, but you can go to the tea bar and have some prepared tea. The preparation was excellent, it’s not like a coffee shop that just throws some tea inot a bag and pours scalding water on it. The lady behind the counter really made it with care. My matcha was perfect, and my companion’s Chai Latte was very good as well. I ended up buying several teas, and the gentleman behind the counter knew his tea, and was very personable. Next time I’m in the Hudson Valley I will be stopping here again :-)

Chocolate, coffee, banana smoothie — does it get better? I mean… delicious. A little bit on the pricey side but well worth it. They even have almond milk which is a huge plus for a lactard. :)

As a seasonal hermit, nothing makes me happier during the cold months to have a cup of tea. Verdigris is the holy Mecca of tea shops. So much selection! Such a cute store! So welcoming! They even have a tea library for you to smell all the varieties of tea. I usually get a matcha smoothie/latte to go as well as buy another 2 oz for the road. Definitely go if you love a good cup of tea :) you won’t leave empty handed! Logistically — can sit and relax for a bit but not the coffee shop environment to hang out all day. They have baked goods but I haven’t tried any so can’t speak to their quality.

This is a nice tea and chocolate shop. They have tons of teas to pick from, as well as imported chocolate that’s sold in bars, boxes, pieces, etc. The owners are both very friendly and they have tea samples available to try. My husband ordered a chai hot chocolate and we bought a couple pieces of chocolate. Though this place is really nice, the hot chocolate was not! Maybe we just ordered wrong, but if I’m ever here again I would try a warm tea. The chocolate we purchased was also just so so(the packaging was prettier than the taste(I tried something that was shaped like a fig, thinking it would have some fig in it, but it was just plain milk chocolate). Also, there isn’t much seating here, so if you’re planning on bringing a book or work, look elsewhere. This is a nice shop to purchase gifts and teas(think Teavana in terms of variety). The two women, I think they were the owners, were friendly as well.

This is a great tea shop. As I walked up to Verdigris I immediately noticed that it was color coordinated lavender green. Verdigris is the name for the green color made from applying acid to copper. More a tea place than a coffee shop, it offers chocolates, cakes, and probably over 100 teas. The shop was run by two ladies. It was relatively quiet when I was there. They were pleasant, but this was clearly a place where one stepped on eggshells and didn’t speak out of turn. A white-haired lady calmly asked me what I wanted as I was finishing up my sample of Mt. Everest Breakfast Blend(the other choice was Coconut which would have sent me screaming from the establishment). After pondering flavored hot chocolate bliss, I asked what teas were available by the cup. She informed me that I could choose any of the scores of teas written on the wall, so I settled on the Rooibos Candy Ginger Peach. For sustenance, I contemplated the homemade biscotti, but settled on the Cranberry Pecan Scone. No low-calorie options here. After taking my seat, I was given a ‘perfect tea timer’ with three hour glasses, one for each desired strength of tea(3, 4 or 5 minutes). I watched by timer in anticipation. As my 5 minutes came to a close, a took out the tea bag, and smelled the agreeable scent of peach with a hint of ginger. Both the tea and scone were delicious.
