My wife and I used this consignment store a lot when we first moved to Hudson. At first we thought it was great and spent about $ 3000 there in a matter of about six months. We were shopping there one day and asked one of the people that was working there if we could sell a couch and recliner chair that we had bought there on consignment in their store. The lady said that we had to take photos of the couch and chair and email them to her and if the photos looked good then it would be OK. We did that after having the couch cleaned and she said that it would be OK. We also bought a couple of pieces of furniture, which we asked that they deliver. When the delivery guy showed up, he stated that he only delivers to the front door and that it was up to me to get the furniture in the house(a departure from previous deliveries by them). When I acted confused by this and began to question it, he relented and helped me move the furniture into the house. He then stated that he did not want to take the couch because he thought that it would not be accepted, despite the previous clearance by staff of the consignment shop. I got the distinct impression that he was just being lazy and didn’t want to work. He stated that he would come back for the chair when we got further clearance for the couch. My wife and I went in and talked to the owner(I believe his name was Bill). When I told him what I had experienced he basically called my a liar and stated that he had to back his employee(rather than the paying customer). When I stated that he was losing my business by acting this way, he simply shrugged and said OK. It was one of the most negative and bizarre customer service experiences that I’ve had in years. It’s hard to believe that someone would behave this way to a customer that had spent $ 3000 in his business in the last six months. I’ll never be back.

There are some cool things there but there is also a lot of JUNK. Furniture with stains, artwork that belongs in a garbage, or maybe goodwill if it was lucky. The clothing section is quite small. You could probably find some cool vintage furniture here, but they don’t seem to really edit what they carry if that makes sense. Who wants to buy a stained throw pillow or a yellowed teddy bear poster? I think it is like a goodwill or salvation army on steroids — both always have gems, but you also have to pick through a lot of grimy looking items that belong in the garbage. Prices seemed reasonable.

This place is nuts! HUGE flee market meets antique. Nice staff, this time warp offers kitsch with toungencheek humor. Really, some interesting finds to fit pressed budgets in austere times, the green recycle passion or simply looking for that one thing you didn’t know you needed and didn’t know where to find it. Take your time, go back in time. If you have consignments, call. There are some procedures to follow and some items they don’t take. Take your time and enjoy the time warp!

This is a great place to check out for a deal. Items move quickly and it’s always busy. I find myself waiting to see if an item gets reduced in price and more often than not it’s gone by the time I return. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean and well lit. I’m a fan!

As far as consignment shops go, this one has a huge, constantly changing selection. The parking lot is always packed, which is a testament to the number of repeat customers they have(but when you are trying to find a parking space, it can be a frustration!). You may not always find what you are looking for, but you’ll see some neat stuff along the way.

Who doesn’t like a bargain or to find a unique treasure now and again! I’ve made a number of purchases over the past few years at Still Life from glass ware to the odd religious antique item. The store itself is large and not overly cluttered. The items are varied and reasonably priced. Lately though it seems like 1960’s/1970’s décor and furnishings have invaded Still Life. Perhaps this is the trend in consignment these days as peope downsize. There is a lot of kitchy type items especially towards the back of the large warehouse space. I will continue to visit in hopes of finding a something special/unique. I also find just meandering around the store relazing as I picture how people must have lived in the 1960’s. A time capsule indeed.

The store has enlarged and, frankly, has fewer really nice items. Lots of small items but it’s hard to sift through them all. Prices are reasonable but come with either a lot of time or a specific item in mind. Fewer fabrics; needs more display cases for jewlery and knick knacks to organize better. They added clothing. If you consign items, ask about the return policy and what you have to do if you want you items back. It’s a bit difficult.

Still Life Home Consignment can at times feel overwhelming. It is an artistically laid out warehouse, with items you wish you could find in a thrift store. It echoes those ‘throw anything on display’ stores that litter the coasts(with lighthouses and wooden boats to boot). The shelves are endless but never seemed a burden whenever I asked about items,(a typewriter was an easy one, even an ink well was seemingly easy too). The old sailor behind the counter never shed a salty look or tone. The furniture was clean and well preserved, as are the even smaller items like glassware and jewelry. These are not the items you’ll find on the street that have been given temporary housing. They are presentable and appropriately priced. The prices can vary. Note the tags, prices will drop two times from their original sale. Each tag will show the dates when the price will drop. Mind these when looking for the cheapest buy. If you are looking to fill an entire afternoon, finding anything your home could need, take a ride to Still Life Home Consignments. *Also note that there is a fabrics store and an upholstery shop located inside as well. One stop shop, you bohemian housewife.

Nicely displayed consignment store with better than reasonable prices, and many quality pieces of furniture, in a variety of styles. The good stuff moves quickly, so I’ve learned to move quickly if I like something. The few items that do not sell are donated to local philanthropies. The people who own and work in the shop are very genial, and are as friendly to the window shoppers and the serious ones.

This is a great place to find a bargain in. It’s not as organized as Gallery at 56, and it doesn’t have quite as many large furniture items. However, there are deals galore, to be found. Most items are really reasonably priced. There’s an abundance of knick nacks, and kitchen table and chair sets. I found two portable kitchen islands for great prices. We found an entertainment cabinet for our den. Just the right size and price. There’s also tons of fabric, and curtains, a vintage clothing store tucked in the back, and there’s a huge fabric store upstairs. There’s also a lady who does reupholstering in the back. This is definitely worth checking out.
